They were individual competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to recruit for duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. The guy 2nd from the right (Mingyu) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others.

Hyungho - Rock Countertenor (zero training until he joined the group)
Mingyu - Leader and Classically trained Leggiero Tenor (he and Woorim went to the same school)
Doohoon - Musical Theater Actor, Baritenor
They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella.
They continue to enter competitions, put out albums and even toured N. America last year. They intend to keep performing, but they are a man down for the next year+ as their Bass, Woorim, completes his Mandatory Military service.
They have done everything from their original K-pop song, "Kool", to their new rock waltz, "Snow Globe" (which seems to be a fanciful retelling of them coming together as a team). They don't believe in genres and fear no style of song.
Outstanding live performances to check out, Lazenca, Save Us (From the Space Rock Opera), Legends Never Die, Hijo de la Luna, Time in a Bottle, Ju Suis Malade, Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk), and Despacito. For an extra treat, check out Kang Hyungho's "Phantom of the Opera" audition (he sings both The Phantom and Christine's parts), or Cho Mingyu's "Balada de la Trompeta".

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die!
And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too.
Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans.

Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it.

Light hair, rocker vibe is HyungHo and has a rock band “Pitta”. There are many UA-cam videos, most fan recorded but many professional, of his songs.
To really appreciate his range I suggest watching any video of his “Phantom of the Opera”. It is jaw dropping.
Deep voice is Woo-rim. Before he went in for his mandatory military service in SK he held a concert “Black” and sang many old standards.
Your reaction didn’t disappoint. It is always a pleasure watching people hear Forestella for the first time. Their vocal performances are flawless. “Hijo De La Luna” is my all time favorite - next to “Angel”, “Utopia”, and “Snow Globe”.

Yeah, these “angels” are some of the best the music industry has to offer. FORESTELLA is an unusual (originally classic) Korean CROSSOVER vocal group. A concentrated force of incredible talents with unique voices and outstanding skills. Thanks to their extremely flexible voices and musical sensitivity, they are able to adapt perfectly and authentically to ANY GENRE AND STYLE. They mostly cover iconic, legendary songs, rearrange them, always respecting the original, and literally make each of these songs their own. By the way, their originals are on a completely different level and an absolute MUST. These guys are a great musical delight and definitely worth the trip.

Hi Angel D, first time seeing a reaction by you. And it’s a Forestella one😅 Forestella are a Crossover group who perform in all types of genres and even languages. They have done other Queen classics, like We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You, and most recently THE SHOW MUST GO ON.. as a trio because the bass singer enlisted on Nov 20 for his mandatory military service..he returns May 2025. Forestella was born in 2017 when they met at a JTBC TV competition Phantom Singer 2 looking to create a crossover group. The bass, Ko Woorim and their leader Cho MinGyu are both fully trained opera singers, the blond one Kang HyungHo is a former research chemist who is a self-trained tenor soprano and a rock singer since his University days and lastly far right is Bae Doohoon, a baritone tenor with a degree in musical theatre who majored in acting. My suggestions for reacting to: LEGENDS NEVER DIE🌳EXO’S MAMA🌳BAD ROMANCE🌳DESPACITO 🌳LAZENCA,SAVE US 🌳FAKE LOVE+ SAVE OUR LIVES🌳WHITE NIGHT🌳WARRIORS🌳…except for the last one these are all big stage performances. They're a crossover group.Their usual lineup formation on your screen from left to right is the classically trained basso profundo Ko Woorim ( also the youngest member of the group) then the rocker, no musical training and was working as a biochemical engineer thru the week and gigging with his rock group on weekends ( nickname PITTA) countertenor/soprano, Kang Hyung-ho. 3rd from left is the leader of Forestella, classically trained leggero tenor,Cho Mingyu. Finally, musical theater baritone/tenor (and oldest member at 37) Bae Doo-hoon. I highly recommend all of their performances but maybe start with Scarborough Fair Time In A Bottle, Bad Romance, Warriors, Je Suis Malade (Forestella sings in many languages) Champions, Shape of You, Hijo de la Luna, Nella Fantasia and Legends Never Die. Kang Hyung Ho's (the "Blonde" aka PITTA) passion is rock/metal and rock/pop. He has solo projects (like the others) and is also a first-class singer/songwriter with his own channel. His most recent concerts last month were amazing. I recommend his version of "Wishmaster" and definitely his originals "Be Free" and "Wave On The See". His voice is simply incomparable and his skills are outstanding!!!@@AngelDReacts

I highly recommend their inimitable versions of more legendary songs like "Legends Never Die", "Hijo de l Luna", "MAMA", "Lazenca Save Us" and "White Night", the latest "The Show Must Go On". And from their originals "Utopia and "Snow Globe". EVERY single performance is outstanding and always TOP-Notch!!!
I dont know about any of those other songs..............but this cover was absolutely TERRIBLE. This "band" could never come anywhere close to the talent that Queen had. There is ZERO passion in this singer's voice.....MUCH too wimpy and quiet. Some song just should NEVER be covered. Bohemian Rhapsody is one of those songs. Freddie is turning over in his grave.....and covering his ears !!!!

Lazenca Save us, Time in a Bottle... Ko WooRim (the Basso Profundo) is doing his Military Service. The guy with the light hair (Kang Hyung-Ho was a Research Chemist... and well spotted.. singer in a Rock Band.. He had NO Vocal training prior to the show creating Forestella). The guy who sang "Mama just killed a guy" is Cho Mingyu.. like Ko WooRim.. Classically trained). The final guy is Bae Doo-Hoon, who was trained in Theatre).
