I’m also a Yankees fan but I’m definitely not a Mets hater. This was great for New York baseball. When the Mets knocked out Philadelphia I was actually happy about that. As a New Yorker and a hardcore New York sports FAN, I do not like Philadelphia. My favorite sport is hockey. I bleed blue and orange, I’m a HUGE Islanders fan. I absolutely despise the Rangers. As long as there’s been divisions in hockey, the Islanders and Rangers have always been crosstown and divisional rivals. The Mets and Yankees have always been in different leagues.

Starting 28-37, Jorge Lopez (pitcher) being DFA’d after chucking his glove into the crowd at Citi Field. It all changed when Francisco Lindor held a players only meeting in May. Then Grimace threw out the ceremonial first pitch in June, then this song becomes a smash hit. The Yankees and Mets might play each other in the World Series. That would be an absolute blockbuster all around the world. If my grandfather was still alive, he would’ve LOVED to see the incredible show that the Yankees and Mets are putting on. He grew up in NYC during the dark days of the Great Depression in the 1930’s. He saw almost every era of Yankees baseball, he saw the Giants and Dodgers move to California in 1957 and then the Mets becoming a team in 1962. He was a Yankees fan and watched every game. It’s a great time to be a baseball fan in NY after a disastrous 2023 for both teams.
