When Pete hit that home run I teared up, not because of that incredible clutch hit per se, but because I lost my Dad last year and the second l saw that ball just clear the outfield wall, I looked up and knew Dad was watching and screaming as loud as he could so I could here him down here, rooting hard for his Metsies. Dad, I hear you-Lets Go Mets! 😂 ❤
the fan in the background calling winker "the biggest asshole in baseball" and saying "how is that acceptable?" about his helmet smash😂😂😂thats what did it for me
My first baseball game I watch was the 69 World Series. I was 8. My dad was a huge Mets fan and we went to many games at Shea. Unfortunately he never made it to CitiField. He passed before it opened.
My favorite part (well, 2nd-favorite part) is looking at how wildly the Win Probability on the scoreboard shifted before and after Alonso's HR to put the Mets up 3-2. It goes from a 17% chance at the 9:33 mark to 80% at 10:15! Absolute madness that has occurred tonight after seeing the Mets give up those back-to-back HRs late in the game October baseball is so special man 🔥
This moment was electrifying. I was sitting on the living room stairs because I thought we were going to lose but I couldn’t stop watching and my dad was sitting at the high top table in our living room… we both jumped up and started screaming and we scared our dogs😂 my sister texted us that we scared her since she was trying to sleep. I will never forget this moment no matter what happens in this teams future this postseason… LFGM 💙🧡🐻❄️🙌🏼
I’m so glad it was Pete that did it. He deserves it after having an off season and has been harshly criticized. I love the polar bear 🐻❄️. Go Petey. LFGM 💙🧡💙
@EMarieRay My parents were National League fans before the Mets were born. My Mom was a Dodger fan, and my dad was a Giants fan. They raised me as a Mets fan from day one. I still remember going to the Polo Grounds, and of course Shea Stadium. I'm 68 now. Let's Go Mets! You Gotta Believe!
I was bawling last night my father passed away suddenly at 60 5 years ago I was 38 and the Mets were our biggest bonding ritual I watched every game with his urn and I can only describe what has happened with this team as some thing not of this earth and when they did it in atl then mil now Philly I finally just broke down and cried my eyes out in happiness utter disbelief and sadness that he wasn’t hear with me to see this because in 86 I was 6 and saw tears in his eyes when they won it and in 15 he consoled me when k.c won and this was an emotional thing that I have never felt before this team is special you can really feel it and I’m sharing it with my 6 y.o little girl and 12 y.o son baseball truly is romantic
Heck, I watch video footage of Robin Ventura's grand slam homer from 1999, and Mike Piazza's post-9/11 homer, over and over again. This has been added to the list.
When people talk shit about baseball and say it’s boring this will be my go to response. There is no game like baseball. Moments like this are what it is all about besides winning it all of course.
The drama, the intensity, the suspense, the magical moment, the heroic swing of Alonso’s bat, it sent shivers down my spine and tears down my face because I watched this team all year, I know how hard they struggled, how hard they fought to get back on track, and this game, the way they came back from the brink with all odds against them, this is why I love baseball, because baseball proves fairy tales can come true.
When Pete hit that HR, I just started laughing maniacally. On some Joker shit. I couldn’t believe it. Still don’t 24 hours later. Backs against the wall, Pete looked lost the entire game. But when it mattered the most, Pete answered the call, swung the hammer and solidified his place in Mets lore. Even if he doesn’t resign with the team, he has this moment forever. He brought us back from the brink in cinematic fashion.
I was at home watching this game about to throw in the towel and say that's the end of this amazing season. It was was good run, but this team proved me wrong!!! That's why you play until the last out is made!
Not a mets fan but cheering for them bc my dad was a huge mets fan died of cancer this year, reminds me of the 2009 yankees the comeback kids. Always will b a yankees fan but soft spot for the team just a subway ride away
To really appreciate what happened last night the Mets were dead offensively going into the 9th down 0-2 and only 2 hits, they not only tied the game with one out but went up by 2, then the double play to end the game ! Stunned Brewers fans exited quickly while stunned but ecstatic Mets fans wildly celebrated. Great night !
Last time the Mets won crazy game like this Was the Braves game Down 8 to 1 PIAZZA hit a grand slam And we won that game I believe it was year2000, This game got me going bananas Let's go METS ❤❤❤
All my complaints of Pete's lack luster season,. his lack of hitting with runners on (though 88 RBIs is nothing to sneeze at), missing the big moments of clutch.... all is forgiven with the greatest clutch hit of his career... hands down.
A couple of things after watching this inning like a fucking maniac a thousand times. 1. The way Marte ducks under the throw home when Winker scores. 16:56. 2. The way Mendoza leads Winker into the dugout after Winker's flex. 17:11. 3. Seeing Gibbons - some forget he played with the boys in 86 for a stretch 16:05. I don't know - just crazy shit this game. Really crazy.
Don't believe that was the case tbh. Center field view is a lot different than the batter POV. I think the coach was explaining what to look for on ball spin or trajectory
SCIAMB ALSOI GAVE A VERY NICE CALL OF ALONSO'S HOMERUN, AND CELEBRATED PETE ALONSO AND THE METS FANS IN CITIFIED WHO WERE HAPPY ALONSO SAVED THE METS SEASON.
This is October baseball at its finest. The best remedy for a Brewers fan is to takeoff work the following day and enjoy your family and know that life goes on.
How many times have you watched this inning?
Me - "Yes"
All the times
Lots!
Enuf
Im here, down 3-2 to LA, watching this for good luck LOL LGM!
a couple
Thanks for using Howie and not the horrendous ESPN crew
ESPN is so biased against the Mets is sad. Howie with the great call on the HR!
They had the crowd mics way too loud, listen to the dude screaming when Winker slams his helmet after he scores, it's hysterical.
Yea ESPN is terrible.
Agreed!! So much better
@@mattingly234ever lmao so damn funny
Thank you for using Howie’s call. The Mets TV and radio announcers are the best in the business, and it’s not even close.

My name is Bootney and I’m a Mets Fan!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
The moment he became a Met for life. Lol
at 2nd the helmet took Winkers wits
at home plate, Winker took the helmets life
I’m so glad it was Pete that did it. He had an off season and has been harshly criticized but he redeemed himself right there.
That really happened. I had to rewatch just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
l remember the miracle Mets of 1969. l am getting up there in my age, please repeat this miracle...
My thoughts exactly!

As awesome as Pete’s home run was, my favorite part was winker slamming his helmet, mocking the brewers fans 🤣🤣

Been a Mets fan since 1962, I actually had tears in my eyes
Same here I still remember going to the Polo Grounds when I was almost 6 years old
I am a Mets fan since 1986.
I am 72 and fan since 1962, my mom was a Dodger fan who introduced me to baseball by embracing them, and I cried as well.😅😅

Winkers helmet throw is epic.
I can just imagine Gary Cohen doing his legendary call in his living room! I'd pay to see that!
I’d rather hear Gary, Keith and Ron than the ESPN bums honestly

Baseballs about eatin some food, relaxing your brain & saving your energy for moments for things like the Penguin's three run shot.
There is no sport that can create the drama that baseball can. Add a pro like Howie Rose to tell the story and you've got an unforgettable gem.

The Mets have been clutch for the first time in a decade in the post season!!!
Nimmo low key doing clutch work.
I hate that people say baseball is boring. This proves that baseball is an interesting sport.
THIS STRETCH OF BASEBALL IS LEGENDARY!!
This is a masterclass in broadcasting. Come for Alonso's homer, hang around for Winker's antics. Howie Rose never misses.
