Hi Ali, Sounds like you made the right decision. The Rogue has a better suspension for being off road, but not for towing or carrying weight in the back. If you want Hilux that is going to be your workhorse then the SR5 is the best way to go. Thanks for watching and remember to subscribe to be notified of my new videos.

I have now got rid of the SR5. I love driving the Rogue and I think it is more steady on the road with the improved suspension and it does feel more luxurious. However, I do really miss the SR5. I love how with the SR5 you can go to a builders yard and get a tonne of gravel dumped in the tray, and you have no worries about scratches or it being marked up, because that is exactly what it is made for - it is awesome. With the Rogue, you definitely cant get a tonne of gravel dumped in the back - the marine carpets in the boot put a stop to that immediately, along with the motorised cover which would get destroyed. Thanks for watching, and glad you liked the video.

How’s the ride comfort compare to SR5?
What about the cabin noise, is it the same?

The ride comfort I think is pretty much exactly the same as the SR5. Likewise the cabin noise is again exactly the same. The main thing I am having to get used to is that it feels so much wider. I am always checking that I am staying in my lane on the roads. It is only 140mm wider than the SR5 however it feels so much wider than this. I guess I'll get used to it in a few more weeks. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching. I think you are absolutely right, I spent a lot of time looking at the Ranger, and test driving the Ranger Wildtrack. The Ranger is awesome, and to me drives like a refined car. But I cant get away from the fact I love the Hilux, and love how when I drive it, it still feels agricultural or industrial, and just feels like it is an absolute rock and cant be broken. If you want a refined car like feel vehicle then definitely you cant go wrong with the Ranger - it is an awesome machine. If you want something that feels like an unbreakable beast that you need to wind up to get moving, then the Hilux is the right choice. All that being said, I am looking forward to the Hilux getting some more bells and whistles in it to compete more with the Ranger, but likewise I hope they do it in a way which continues to make you feel like it cannot be broken. Thanks for watching, and remember to subscribe.

Interesting view@@DJTrumpMAGA. I can't say I have a strong opinion either way on that one, other than saying I personally prefer the Hilux. Thanks for watching.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a SR5 from a private seller, 2021 model 37000km driven, he is asking for $57000, I'm thinking $55000 to take it, do you think that's a good price for current market? Also do you have any tips for buying second hand from private sellers? I get overwhelmed with the amount of choices and different prices, it's taking me a long time to search/research, any help would be appreciated, thanks. I'm from Sydney Australia btw.

Hi Su, I don't consider myself an expert on buying and selling second hand cars, however for whatever it worth, a 2021 Hilux will still be covered by the full factory warranty, so you should not have any big concerns regarding any mechanical issues. $55k doesn't seem like a bad price, given the number of vehicles on the market. It would be worthwhile making sure you get a car with the options you want, i.e. if a leather interior is important to you, make sure you get one with the premium interior. Also a must when buying a second hand car from private seller, is checking the PPSR register. If you are spending $55k on a car, then don't scrimp and save on spending a few hundred bucks on getting some checks done to make sure you are not buying a car which has finance on it, is stolen, has been involved in an accident, or anything else. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

How do you find the DPF? That’s my only concern with these new utes as I live in urban Sydney and so a lot of stop and go driving.
As well as the roller shutter on the rogue, does it leak at all?
    Thankyou

I have absolutely no drama's with the DPF at all. It just comes on every couple of hundred km's and does its thing. As for the roller shutter, I noticed that after a huge downpour it was a little damp in the back corners but nothing to be concerned about. I have a towel, some shopping bags and other general bits of stuff thrown in the back and nothing was wet at all. Thanks for watching
