@adfgfds The diesel is there to protect the steam engine. R&N has a policy that the steam engine is to be the show-piece ONLY during the scheduled excursion; otherwise must be led by a diesel locomotive.

She be loud, but from what I've experienced, the old Ks on the Durango and Silverton NGRR are much louder.
