    The $1700.00 price tag is absolutely at the top level of what I would ever consider spending on a pair of headphones. I'm not going to bash anybody who happens to have deeper pockets than I do and can afford to spend $5,000.00 or more, I just can't justify even trying to keep up with them. Having both the LCD-2 (2020) and the LCD-X (2021) in my line-up, as well as the EL-8 (all open back), I'd imagine that the MM500 just might have a chance of finding there way unto my desk. Not this year though, I have other obligations and have made several purchases over the past year. As a big fan of Audeze headphones however, I really do wish they would come up with a better means of attaching the damn earpads than using 3M tape rings. I've had ongoing issues with them coming off of my LCD's, both pairs. It's frustrating, costly and quite frankly it shouldn't be a concern at their price point. HiFiMan can do it on their headphones (my $349.00 Sundara is a prime example).

      The sundaras just feel cheap though, I always get weird static issues with the sundaras and no issues with my lcd x and they are just so much more substantial feeling, I havent had the cups come undone on mine since its less than a year old but hopefully not for a long time… the sundaras are an amazing value though

    • @tomdavis6371
      @tomdavis6371 2 роки тому +4

      Oh I agree, the Sundara isn't the most premium headphone on the planet. The earcups don't swivel and I wasn't much the fan of the stock pads. The finish is like a powder coat but easily scratches. I have just a couple of very tiny marks where I can see silver through the black. I haven't heard the static issue you mention on mine. The LCD-X I have owned since just before Christmas. I was a bit disappointed in the pads because I love the feeling and the smell of the leather used in their older pads, which I have on the LCD-2. I do have a brand new pair of the newer pads I could try on the LCD-2 but kind of hate to do it.
      You're right on the Sundara being a great value headphone but not in the same league of the higher end Audeze headphones, or others. Just my thoughts.

      @@tomdavis6371 I live in a really dry climate so static shocks seem to happen more in general for me ....I have to be careful with the sundaras when I grab them, granted im dealing with 15% humidity most of the time during the winter. I initially wasnt too impressed with my LCD -X but after a month or so it really opened up and the bass is just substantial, the Sundara's are always my first recommendation to friends that are curious about branching outside of Apple/sony/bose stuff

      @@seanms35 I'm very interested in the soundstage on the Aryas, is there a preference from the original and the stealth version? It will prob be awhile before I add to my collection thanks to home repairs. I would love to get some awesome close backs at some point but these days I barely travel so it's prob a waste

    I hope this isn't just a marketing blah blah..! I've tried LCD-X (2021) and LCD-XC (2021) They're both very good Headphones no question! The only think I've missed is the signal Seperation in the Mix. On my Genelec Speakers I can hear every Element in the Mix on it's own and hear also very quiet Elements easy. This is something I like to have also on some good Headphones. I hope the MM 500 can do that as well.

      The MM-500 is not a limited special edition. It's the start of a new MM Series of professional audio products. It has been designed by and for creators in a way unlike anything we've done before, utilizing many of the technological innovations that we've developed over the last decade. Check out the full details on the product page, and you'll get a sense of how it fits into our lineup. www.audeze.com/products/mm-500
