I purchased my Ka-Bar in Quantico as a new 2nd LT. That was over 35 yrs ago. It’s been 1/2around the world with me and I have worn out 2 leather sheaths. It’s the traditional stacked leather handle. It’s never let me down.
I bought my Ka-Bar USMC Knife this past January. It’s put away. A friend asked me what knife Charlie Hunnam had on his belt in Sons Of Anarchy I told her it was a Ka-Bar USMC Knife. In the Series his Dad was a Marine.
HARMARSCH2 I carry one on my belt 24-7 I'm influenced by the early Hell's Angels that came back from veitnam and brought there knifes back home and wore them on there belt, that show is based off of 81.
Got my USMC Ka-Bar back in the early 80s and I'm proud to carry it when I go into the woods, and it is stamped Olean, N.Y. Had to get a new leather sheath but I got a leather one. Good knife made in America.
Can you please bring back the Becker Bk 20! I own the Ka-bar big brother, Ka-bar Bk 7, Ka-bar USMC Tanto. Ka-bar 1117, the heavy bowie, warthog. Love them all.
That's what I was told as well. The most important thing to know is the KABAR knife is capable of killing a bear! I highly suggest any mail carrier to carry this to protect themselves from vicious dogs. If KABAR can kill a bear it can definitely kill a pit bull.
My KA-BAR Mule with the AUS8A blade is probably the best pocket knife I've ever owned. I've cut open canned food, skinned wild game, used it as a pry bar, metal shear, most likely if you can name it I've used it for and it still rides in my back pocket with me every day along with my benchmade freek and Infidel both riding shotgun in my fronts. Even being a cheaper and softer steel I would still trust my life more with the Mule rather than the $135 Freek and the $480 Infidel. The perfect pocket knife, preferably at least a single action automatic, would be if you would make a 1095hc or better, automatic EDC with just a few less serration cuts than the mule. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make something like that for us, I'm not the happiest that my blade is made in twain but I can say they do make a far superior blade to quite a few other countries especially china which is where you're warthog, cheaper mule, and a few others that you sell including the constant china styling change. Please quit selling the Chinese blades you're currently offering and make something that will last a life time like the original GI KA-BAR...
KA stands for "Kill A" and BAR stands for "Bear". This is one awesome knife! I personally think mail carriers and delivery drivers should carry KABAR in addition to their pepper spray. The Halt pepper spray the mail carriers carry isn't going to be strong enough to stop Dobermans, Rottweilers, pit bulls, but a KABAR will!
Amora knife can't out do a kbar it never killed a Kodiak grissley bear or saved the world never compare a Volkswagen to a Cadillac the ride is not the same and never will be

I've broken 3 or 4 Vietnam era Kabar USMC knives. I finally gave up on that particular knife .
Two Bears Bushcraft
What did you did with the knives that they broke if I may ask?
Ka bar knives dont brake so easily so what you do bang it on stone or bricks?
very neat!
thought ka-bar came from “killed a bear” in the letter and k, a, b, a, & r were the only letters legible
Michael Lewis that's the story I heard too. Either an illegibility issue or something like poor writing and grammar.
That's the story from their packaging.

Name of intro song?
Bones Owens - just in case it rains
waiting for the obsidian sharp knife so i feel the power of true sharpness of a few atoms which also take out a bear with a blow dart.
O Lee Ann not O leen. Didn't know until I watched this video.
Is it KA for "Kodiak"? Or KA for "Kill-a"?
In anycase, KA-BAR is a legendary American product.
