I have the Kabar 1217 and I love it. I want to buy another one here soon because winter is coming here in Canada so I want to get a Kabar with the green handle so it won't matter how wet it'll get but I don't have to worry about that til spring really because winter here the snow is sleet and feels like being sandblasted. I love Kabar, perfect size knife with a tougher blade. So sick of 420 and 440 that dull quick. I have been carrying my Kabar since the day I got it!!
The KA-BAR knives are nice, but that knife isn't for bushcrafting like some try to do with it. The new knives probably isn't as good as the ones made for the Marine Corps.
Marines dont get knives nowadays except MAYBE a bayonet if you are an 03. I will say however, I LOVE my BK10 for my bushcraft knife. Slightly on the bigger side for finer work, but its a champ when it comes to wood processing and the balance is perfect. Just wish the swedge wasnt as sharp as it is
You can't kill an enemy with one stab or a simple throat cut. Besides cutting up an enemy in the jungle is pretty messy. The dried blood on your clothes will attract more flies than apiece of shit... and you'll walk to your exfil point smelling like an old used Kotex.
Thank you. I am glad someome said it. I feel like this video glamorizes war. It severely underplays how awful it was, particularly emphasized by the upbeat soundtrack. I wasnt in vietnam, but I did get to bounce around a little for a couple years in the Corps.
