My Local Coin Shops are way over priced. They do not even want to match online pricing which has to pay for shipping. I would definitely shop at your store if I lived nearby.
Local haha ! I tried every shop up to 4 hours drive time, 8 round trip. Their spread is on avg $6 on silver and several % worse than vermillion on Gold. Heck I was offered $4 an ounce BELOW spot to sell my 90%. No where close to Vermillion. The buy side is much worse. Most coin dealers are expensive if your buying and cheap if your selling. I am trying neighboring states looking for the closest LCS that's anywhere close to Vermillion on pricing.. So far striking out It's depressing, makes me want to sell everything and get out of this investment/hobby if there's only 1 dealer in the country whose honest and not looking to make a fortune off of every single deal
Missed you there. Greg haven’t been making a video for a while. It must be real busy which I’m glad to hear but hey man, proud of the way you work you’re an honest man I wish I get down to Florida. I wish I had shop like yours where I live. Might have to give in and just do some business over the phone. Glory to GOD!
absolutely everything at this point that is not a US Gold Coin is going to the refinery....including assayed and TEP material...but before we purchase any TEP material we remove it and verify it, way to many really good fakes floating around at this point to not completely verify
When I was young. I emptied my aquariums and brought all my fish to sell to the Tropical Fish Store at closing time. Saying he wasn’t happy would be an understatement.
Vermillion is one of the best shops in Florida if not the country ! They treat you right and no bs to worry about. I still owe them some Starbucks cards because they have always treated me with respect and knowledge . Next time I’m up there I promise to bring some Java cards or I can mail a couple to the shop. Take care, James from Tampa.
I can't speak for other's interactions with their LCS. I use SD bullion on occasion if they have a sale, but 90% of my purchases are made with Vermillion. They are almost always cheaper than the big online guys, even after you factor in shipping. I have yet to try and sell any back, so I can't speak to that experience.
Same here with the predominance of my purchases through Vermillion. As to the online guys I've found Monument Metals to have favorable prices more so than SD Bullion. Plus I'm predisposed to disliking SD Bullion anyway due to their annoying, ad nauseam sponsorships on some YT channels.
@@Fireinahorn Shipping from Vermillion is $13, I believe. While, the big boys offer free shipping, it doesn't offset the higher costs of their product.
Little confused, are you buying junk 90 at spot and selling at spot + $1? edit: scrolled down saw same question from another viewer. The spot / spot +1 is correct. thanks
I always prefer to deal with LCS on both ends, that being said there a specials i will take advantage of here and there, but mostly the LCS. Treat them right, i feel it comes back 10 fold when its needed.
The downside to 40% half dollars is space to store. Being that they weigh more than 90% dimes/quarters, how much actual pure silver do those 90% contain than the 40%?
That was funny…”Snail Mail”, but unfortunately true in many cases. Had a friend send some tax papers to their accountant (preparer) thru Priorty Mail, which claims approximately 2 - 3 business days, and it arrived 10 days later.
When it comes to the Silver bullion market, we all pretty much know that prices are artificially controlled, with Silver being used in a large part of the industry market, so Central Banks pound the fake paper market to keep it at reasonable prices. What big industry wants to have to buy several tons of Silver at $50 an ounce?
I know you don’t like to hear about the negative bashing of LCS’s, but as you may know, sometimes it’s warranted. I was watching another video a few days ago, and a local (repeat) customer was visiting this shop in the video, and was purchasing generic Buffaloes, and the owner quoted him $31, and the man gladly purchased them. THIRTY-ONE DOLLARS for generic? That is why LCS’s get negative reputations. Every owner has a large amount of overhead to pay, but when you’re charging $6+ over spot for Generic Silver…”C’mon Man”
then call out the "bad shops" by name do not lump every coin dealer into a specifically labeled group....stereotyping groups of people based on the actions of some is no way to operate
I remember James Garner in the western comedy movies Support your local Sheriff and Support your local Gunfighter. Maybe a new sequel can be made called Support your local Coin Shop. Steve Carell could star in it.
Hard to say. I'd think you would need to get it down to a price per ounce basis, in addition to expected usage, e.g. for prepping purposes or bartering scenarios, obviously stay with the coinage of your resident country, due to inherent transactional and liquidation challenges. Vermillion's prices on 90% constitutional silver are consistently excellent.
My LCS gives top buy back price and sells at fair prices. I think they almost give stuff away and wish they would slow that up so I can find some goodies.
Canada 80 % silver... What's your thoughts... me personally I do constitutional US silver but I live so close to the Canadian border I thought it might be nice to have maybe one or two tubes of quarters dimes and halves from RCM.... anyways thought I would post a question and see if anybody wanted to respond😎✌️
I have no first hand knowledge of RCM coinage 80% or otherwise. Generally speaking, it can't hurt to diversify, particularly with the relatively limited amount you're alluding to. I personally would stick to 90% US even if I resided in Canada, and purchased from Vermillion due to their very favorable pricing. Then again, maybe your source(s) for 80% RCM would make it a beneficial alternative. That I would not know.
@@INTERNETVID yeah that's what I was thinking for diversity reasoning and being I literally live maybe an hour and a half from the Canadian border and get a lot of Canadian people crossing the border and I thought it would be nice to have at least one tube of each on hand for bartering purposes which I don't think I'll ever come to but who knows... maybe I'll stack it if I find it at a good price like you're saying but mainly stock us constitutional... anyways kind of what I thought I just wanted to post a question and see if there's any other takes on this subject.. Thank you for your time and the reply 😎👍
A lot of the hate directed at coin dealers comes from UA-camrs. All the UA-camrs tell us that every one of our coins is worth thousands of dollars. The coin shop owner has to tell us that we have an ugly baby.
Unless I missed it you did not put the price of your 90% junk maybe I just missed it but it seemed as though you got off track when you said you couldn't keep the dimes in stock or maybe I had my head planted firmly in my back side and I just weren't paying attention😂
Let's get the week started!

You guys have been my LCS for a couple years now so I don't have any complaints!

Glad to hear from you.

Always support your brick and mortar. As they provide you with convenient services when you need them. And in my experience better deals as well.

HI guys. Great deals as always.

Are these loose bars your melting or sending to refinery? Not assay’d and or TEP stuff right?
From what they’ve said previously, I think it’s all the scruffies and pretty much all foreign gold. Like Krugs, britannias, ducats, etc

What do you refine your gold into? Coins? Bars? Ingots? What weights?
we do not rerfine, it is sold to the refinery after they melt and assay it
Please take a field trip to the refinery. Love to see that.
unfortunately no time for that, but great idea
Yes! Finally!

My LCS charges between $28-$34 per dollar face on Constitutional coins. I have to shop online.

Is there any truth to the rumor type 2 silver eagles are trackable some sort of way.
April fools bud
How many (hundred) million do they produce each year? Canada made some kind of “ID’d” coins a few years back, maybe.
Trackable? With ASE's, highly doubtful. With coming CBDC's, a 100% certainty.
Is 80% Canadian silver worth picking up or just stick to 90% US?
