Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.
I mean technically Dread Pirate Westley didn't ask which cup had the poison, only 'where is the poison', and never specified they had to drink from the cups. Were I Vizzini I'd have figured both cups were poisoned, addressed it, and drank from the bottle.@@unsightlyblade
@unsightlyblade Not remotely. Because iocane comes from Australia, and Australia is a land full of criminals who are used to people not trusting them as you are not trusted by me so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you.
No it's "You can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid."
Reminds me of a line from Louis Lamour: "Lie to a liar, for that is hoa coin. Steal from a thief, for that is easy. Set a trap for a cheater and he'll fall for it every time. But beware of an honest man".
It's funny when you realise that if Blackbeard actually tried to save his daughter he would have lived. But Captain Jack Sparrow knew that he wouldn't. So he used his wits to know that Blackbeard would drink the one he offers his daughter that he says that has the tear. That was really brilliant of Jack do to that. Showing us he might act and behave like a fool. But in reality he is a very smart man.
No, it’s even smarter Jack out him in a no win scenario. If Blackbeard decided to save his daughter, Jack would have have realized he “accidentally” switched the cups before he let Blackbeard drink and given him the correct cup.
I'm sorry but how could she cut her hand pulling a sword out of her father and get poisoned, specially being a good swordwoman? Whoever wrote that in was lazy.
Angelica was under a shock. She couldn't believe that her dad lost the fight against Barbossa. When you are under a shock you can't think logical. That's why she does something unusual. The second possibility is she didn't really care about herself. She already decided to die for her father so she doesn't care about a cut on her hand. The third possibility is she was scared. If her father dies before he drinks the tear and the water from the Fountain she can't sacrifice herself for her father
@@blablubb4553Yeah they should've had Barbossa break the sword off inside him after he stabbed Blackbeard. Then there would be a reason for her to grab the blade with her bare hand.
What i love most about this scene is that it perfectly sums Jack up.
He acts like an idiot…but he’s constantly the smartest person in the room
really Blackbeard saves her, just replay the waterfall scenes until you figure out.

I love how the Spanish just let Barbossa and the non-zombified pirates leave, like “yeah, you were just here for Blackbeard, you can go, it’s chill.”
I think they were there just for the fountain of youth

If you pay attention, you do see that ombre with the tear he did grab in his right hand
I switched glasses while your back was turned!
-Jack, probably
I feel like these later films the lighting was just too dark
If jack would have just said “for the pearl” just like Hector . Awesome
Backstabbing was not classy for such a badass captain as barbossa
They're pirates, what do you expect?
Barbossa's whole thing is that he was Jack's first mate until he mutinied and you think backstabbing is beneath him?
He didn’t backstab. He nicked his hand, Blackbeard turned around to face Hector, and Barbosa stuck him.
JACK DID THAT ON PURPOSE....🫠
I wonder if he gets two tears and makes him drink one without a tear then puts a tear in each so two get immortality for one.
I don’t think that’s how it works
“Do not waste my tear.” 🧜♀️
(Drops tear 💧 in water hole 🕳️ )
Oops. 🙊 lol
“TRICKSTER!!! DEVIL!!!” 🤬 LMAO 🤣
This was unnecessarily brutal, they couldn’t have just had him drop dead?
So blackbear was willing to sacrifice his own daughter to save his own life.

To try to save her father probably, by taking it out of him.
@@Jdabomb93 Yeah but a cutlass has a hilt. Specifically designed for being grabbed with a hand. Which a skilled fencer like her would know.
