- The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 149
Vladimir Lenin established the Bolshevik Party in 1912 to seize control of the socialist movement in Russia and to plan and execute a violent revolution against the Tsar, and by 1917 he was successful in this attack. Also in 1917, on the eve of his victory, he wrote his thoughts about the organization of the state and how the revolution should proceed, both to box out his socialist competitors and to establish a theoretical baseline drawing from Marx and Engels for how to organize what became the Soviet Union. That document bears the title The State and Revolution, and in this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay reads through the first chapter of Lenin's key work to expose to you what Bolshevik Communists think a state exists to do: repression. Join him to learn how history today is rhyming with Lenin's evil.

You're halfway down the rabbit hole James.
You should look at who Hitler was associating before the war, and don't forget a delegation of Jews declared war on Germany in 1933.
"They can kiss my ass! I am so nailing this!"
Hahaha! Love it. James is awesome.
I laughed allowed at work and my coworker was like 🤔
I married a Russian woman, and visited Russia a few times pre-Covid. There are statues of Lenin everywhere. There are around 6000 statues of Lenin in Russian cities.
Good!
Thank you, James!
Thank you from Ukraine.
Didn't realize Rage Against the Machine's, "killing in the name of," was intentionally as deeply rooted as the quotes in the song imply. Should have guessed.
Buckling up for evil, so that I may know it.
Gnous the evil
Thank James for your expertise in exposing the ongoing problem of Marxism.
Thank you, Jim!

Love that this guy is getting us all interested in communism!!
.. amazing ability to synthesize and explain all this
Real good review of demiurge and gnosticism, in particular to the socialization by the State.
20:12 interesting correlation with the class writing the books being so distant from the actual lower class that they are romanticized to extreme degree. I see corollaries with the "noble savage" and see this with the idolization of TRAs.
For the General
I like these better than when your picking on darryl cooper
Did you say "Ominous Parallels" because you've read Leonard Peikoff's book? Or was that a coincidence?
He read it
@@drbrainstein1644 Has he ever spoken about it before? I don't remember him mentioning it on his podcast.
…the stealth bomber!
Ok watched it
...i will give a 'rah-rah' cheer for another New Duscourses podcast coming to a close by declaring, in true 'rah-rah' fashion : "teeheehee, it's rude to collude!"
thank you, Dr Linds'!
The Irish poet William Butler Yeats associated with Madam Blavatsky. I'm not sure about the nature of their relationship.
The paranormal.
Blavatsky did not directly inspire the National Socialists. It was imported into Germany in the form of Ariosophy, by Guido von List and Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels, who focused on Blavatsky's idea of 'root races.' They used their schema to portray [the people the Nazis mass murdered] as rootless, alien, parasites, and enemies of the coming master race, who had to be removed.
The Landlord class taking all property now. They created the ability to bring about these antagonisms.
"The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property." Karl Marx
People who have no property ARE property (of the State). We have a word for people being owned by other people. Slavery.
"Then it came burning hot into my mind, whatever he said, and however he flattered, when he got me home to his House, he would sell me for a Slave." John Bunyan
I memorized a quote by Barack Obama relative to this episode .
“ The average man and woman is to small minded to govern their own affairs . Order and progress can only be achieved when the individual gives up their rights to an almighty sovereign “ - Barack Hussein Obama
This was part of a larger quote, where he was denouncing that point of view.
@@jaxjax2011 edit: confirmed your point. This TikTok propaganda is similar to the slander about Trump's "very nice people" misquote.
-i haven't searched that yet, but- I'll accept your answer in that Obama would be unlikely to speak BLATANT Leninism, but more likely to slip in Marxist-lite thought via some overarching yet softer "critical social-racial justice" comments, such as about "protected class" groups or persons (which would be spoken in a different context than this NATO talk).
I expect Obama to talk about some real or fictitious "injustice" or "systemic injustice", which disarms most decent people from calling out BS as BS. It becomes obligatory to sprinkle in caveats, to not be accused of reactionary bigotry or "upholding Whiteness" or "genociding Trans women" etc.
Checked this quote, and confirmed that Obama, for as much as he is awful in other ways, made this quote in the context of denouncing that worldview. That's not to say be actually believes this is wrong, just that in the speech in which this was said, he was saying it is a wrong view.
"Iron Law of Woke Projection"
You could say that demons do Confess their sins, but in the form of accusations. Perhaps this is another one of their inverted Sacraments.
I'm not sure about the ideology of this newly discovered channel, but I will say that Bolshevism inherited the striving of the Fausyian spirit into the boundless space, while Hebrew Capitalism has given us trans rights. Brezhnev was the last Roman Emperor.

I just have a feeling you can’t learn anything about ideas in this kind of discourse
You haven't even learnt how to use a full stop.
