Muscle Man and Starla could barely go one day without seeing one another. He also fell into a sobbing depression when she momentarily broke up with him. I wouldn't exactly call that healthy.
I love how Eileen loves Rigby, even though he's an absolute doofus, and I adore how Rigby improves himself for her and for himself. It's so refreshing and nice.

it’s a really captivating character arc in all honesty. Mordecai is still portrayed as a loser, yeah, but he seems to be the most out together character besides from Benson and Skips. Then as the show progresses, you see in reality he’s just a bit confused, didn’t think he’d be here at this stage of his life, and his indecisiveness really screws up his personal relationships with his family, Rigby and CJ.

Rigleen is one of the healthiest narrative couples I've ever seen and that's a beautiful thing. Legitimately everyone deserves the type of relationship they have it's all so damn wholesome.
Its the perfect relationship! I dont know why more couples like this cant exist on TV. Rigby isnt portrayed as an idiot and Eileen isnt portrayed as a nag.
Their growth as a couple is probably the most realistic I've ever seen in any show. They started out as strangers. Eileen liked Rigby, but it was one sided (the infatuation stage). Then they started to discover they liked similar things and began to hang out more. The more they hung out, the more they got to know each other and form deeper emotional bonds. Then Rigby started becoming attracted to Eileen in a healthy way and not a lustful one (notice how they never really kissed or focussed on their appearances more than absolutely necessary). When it came time to take their relationship to the next level, it was pretty natural. There wasn't a whole lot of nervousness or awkwardness, Rigby just asked her out and it seem like a no brainer for Eileen to say yes.
Bro, rigby was so much better in a relationship than anyone in this show. He had the perfect balance of treating right, fun, and not overdoing it. Especially in comparison to mordecai who was a complete simp for every girl
He’s guarded I think. He’s never really had love. Ron was the only one to give him love and he was guarded with him too. I love how he finally grows though. We don’t see how that happens in real time but it still really gets you.❤

One of the things that I always loved about RS is how Mordecai and Rigby evolved in the show. At first Mordo seems pretty level headed until you find out how much of a selfish jackass with no self respect he can be, while Rigby seems at first like an irresponsible idiot until you see him grow into a very emotionally inteligent dude that actually cares about his friends and gf.
I think this makes Mordecai’s character unfolding underrated... it shows examples of what not to do that MORDECAI does from time to time... Rigby shows what also not to be and he develops while MORDECAI unravels with what his true nature is... and that in itself shows how people should be themselves while MORDECAI shows the reality of your life path if you aren’t yourself until he realized this in his art career
At first I hated Rigby because he wouldn’t do something even if his friends depended on it, for example, when Rigby just couldn’t be nice to his bro for even a second, even though he was such a nice dude, and when he still struggles to give Bensons fortune back as the park is being sucked into a mans fanny pack, but he really changed over the seasons for the better
It’s funny u say that bc her voice actress (Minty Lewis) was a storyboarder on the show. When she was reading her storyboard everyone decided she was the perfect voice for Eileen even though she never voice acted before. She did a good job
I forgot how genuinely kind of a character Rigby is. Like not only is he willing to go out of his way, possibly risking his own relationship just to help Mordecai, but also was willing to go back to high school to finish it off for no other reason than to be the person he thinks his girlfriend deserves. That's fucking dedication for someone usually characterized as lazy
When you think about it, he's only lazy or antagonistic towards people who mostly just yell at him on how they see him as useless especially his worthless dad. I'd argue Rigby is who he is due to that jerk.
I like to compare Mordecai and Rigby to Drake and Josh. Both Mordecai and Drake are seen as the cool guys of the duo, but then spiral down from their mistakes as seasons go on. Whereas Rigby and Josh are seen as the butts of everyone’s jokes who become likeable as time progresses.
This is one of the main reasons why Rigby is my favorite character. At first, he was just some lazy guy who hasn't really accomplished anything and didn't even finish high school. But eventually, he grew more as a character and he even went back to high school and got his diploma, something most people who drop out don't even do. And not only that, but he also managed to make himself more likeable. He will forever be my favorite character in the show *Period*
Can we talk about how in the cave when the place lights up, Eileen is looking up and says "its..." and Rigby is staring right at her when he says "gorgeous " please that is so sweet

Lol this is crazy when i was younger i would have these major crushes on girls and i would act just like mordecai (Complete simp) and identified with his character and wanted him get his wishes as i did, now that i'm older i realize just how important it is to be yourself just how much of a better person rigby is and what it means to truly fall in love

Rigby didn't finish highschool because it wasn't his passion, but when he goes back to highschool his passion for just wanting to be the guy of Eileen's dreams encourages him to graduate.

4:16 "Passing doesn't matter if I don't have Eileen." wow. The old Rigby would be tossed up between doing something selfish or selfless, but his development throughout the show really just goes to show how he grew into a person perfect for Eileen, in a way.
What's really cool about this to me is how in Do Me a Solid, he wasn't interested in Eileen in the slightest and seemed to outright DISlike her (considering how reluctant he was to hang out with her and how he was visibly annoyed & unhappy to see her whenever they interacted). But later on he was able to get past that and changed his mind drastically. Crazy how your opinion of someone can potentially improve if you give em' a chance.

Rigby is a prime example of being happy with someone who likes you, and accepting them as such. Mordecai is a prime example of waiting for someone to like you, thinking the wait will be worth it and just wasting your time. Be Rigby (in terms of relationships), not Mordecai.

What if you don't like the person that likes you though? I've tried with only keeping interest in people who like me and eventually dating one but the problem is I don't like them back. I thought that I could pretend to like them until I actually did, like how you can fake confidence to eventually become confident, but it seems you can't do that with love.

I will always loved how they're relationship was handled, rigby grew a lot as a person because he wanted to be the best version of himself for her, and then started doing it for himself too because she inspires him. he clearly thinks the world of her and isn't afraid to admit it. The fact that there's an entire episode dedicated to him trying to surprise her, because he wants to do something nice for her, was always so sweet to me. like that's how to keep a relationship interesting without having to add petty love triangle stuff. by the end of the series rigby became my favorite character, I liked actually getting to watch his progression into being a better person.
Rigby was himself and got Eileen. He even changed himself and showed character development for her, but Mordecai was willing to kill his "best friend" for a woman he never dated or could even tell he liked her.

My favorite thing about their relationship is that Rigby told Eileen that he wanted to go back to high school and get his diploma for both her and him and he actually did it! He even took her as his date to the prom and I will always find that to be one of the most precious moments of the show, despite his dad nearly ruining it.
The fact that it worked at all proves how much he cares about Eileen. She makes him want to be a better person. He went back to school, he mended past relationships. They are a healthy relationship and I'm so happy about it

The biggest thing ive seen in their relationship is commitment, still having their own life/self identity, and they actually care about each others opinions and sharing their weaknesses.
Both have their ups and downs. I enjoy both of them and their dynamic. Mordecai just focuses on things that he shouldn’t of while Rigby just went with the flow. But in all serious, try to be a Rigby aka the underdog that everyone underestimates

You care about each other, want to be better for each other even if you don't need to be, and remain mature where you need to, while being childish where you can to have fun.

At first Mordo seems pretty level headed until you find out how much of a selfish jackass with no self respect he can be, while Rigby seems at first like an irresponsible idiot until you see him grow into a very emotionally inteligent dude that actually cares about his friends and gf.
Rigby actually still cared a lot for his friendships much earlier in the series, remember the ending of the episode "Do Me A Solid"
I think this makes Mordecai’s character unfolding underrated... it shows examples of what not to do that MORDECAI does from time to time... Rigby shows what also not to be and he develops while MORDECAI unravels with what his true nature is... and that in itself shows how people should be themselves while MORDECAI shows the reality of your life path if you aren’t yourself until he realized this in his art career
Rigby always cared, but it was just that he was a screw-up and irresponsible. He learned life skills and responsibility over time and BOOM.
At first I hated Rigby because he wouldn’t do something even if his friends depended on it, for example, when Rigby just couldn’t be nice to his bro for even a second, even though he was such a nice dude, and when he still struggles to give Bensons fortune back as the park is being sucked into a mans fanny pack, but he really changed over the seasons for the better

I forgot how genuinely kind of a character Rigby is. Like not only is he willing to go out of his way, possibly risking his own relationship just to help Mordecai, but also was willing to go back to high school to finish it off for no other reason than to be the person he thinks his girlfriend deserves. That's fucking dedication for someone usually characterized as lazy
When you think about it, he's only lazy or antagonistic towards people who mostly just yell at him on how they see him as useless especially his worthless dad. I'd argue Rigby is who he is due to that jerk.

Honestly i think rigby had the best character arc, not just in this show, but TV as a whole.
I like to compare Mordecai and Rigby to Drake and Josh. Both Mordecai and Drake are seen as the cool guys of the duo, but then spiral down from their mistakes as seasons go on. Whereas Rigby and Josh are seen as the butts of everyone’s jokes who become likeable as time progresses.

I will always loved how they're relationship was handled, rigby grew a lot as a person because he wanted to be the best version of himself for her, and then started doing it for himself too because she inspires him. he clearly thinks the world of her and isn't afraid to admit it. The fact that there's an entire episode dedicated to him trying to surprise her, because he wants to do something nice for her, was always so sweet to me. like that's how to keep a relationship interesting without having to add petty love triangle stuff. by the end of the series rigby became my favorite character, I liked actually getting to watch his progression into being a better person.

I love how all the relationships in this series isn't just all the lovey dovey prefect moments it mixes all the moments good and bad cause that's real life relationships are

mordecai would jump into everything and try to handle it all himself through some Scheme and even though Rigby would help he be the one to tell mordecai this wasn't going to work
It's funny how in the beginning of the show Rigby tried to get a Highschool diploma just to spite Mordecai but now he's doing for someone he loves and cause he genuinely wants to better himself. Nice to see how far he's come.

I think after Rigby admitted to faking Mordecai’s rejection letter he just kinda became a better character
Note that he said to Mr Ross he would “work hard to make it right”. Kinda foreshadows what we were to see in Season 7.
