    I see it all the time. Straphangers standing too close to the edge. I don't trust anyone in the subway. I always pin my back on the wall opposite the incoming train. People in NYC please don't let your guard down, do not stand at the edge of the platform.

      WOKE, anti-cop, pro-criminal, social justice warriors, empowering criminals in 2020 continues,
      illegal aliens with absolutely no background checks and a Fed Govt that supports thus, lowered hiring standards for police.
      Ending stop and frisk, ignoring low or small crime leads to bigger crime, appointing/electing judges/DAs that are unqualified or ignorant, the media,
      and #1 THE VOTERS. You elected Bragg even knowing he was downgrading felons to misdemeanors,
      You keep electing AOC who is as stupid as a rock and hates her country.
      You elected a city council that just unanimously voted 2 weeks ago to remain a sanctuary city.
      You elected a mayor that wasn’t up for the job at all.
      You believe the media versus what you see with your own eyes.
      It will get much worse in coming months.
      Blame celebrities, athletes, talk shows, police, politicians, but #1 blame the voters.

      They probably do, I cant confirm for sure. Regardless the national guard being there when this occurred doesnt necessarily mean it wouldve made a difference. Judging by how fast the cops apprehended the suspect they were most likely in the station or very close by and this still happened. I dont understand why people tend to have this misconception that cops and national guard are in every station or in stations 24/7. Thats not the case, and even when they are they are human too they wont catch every single criminal attack before or as its happening, at best they are a deterrent or there for quicker response times.

    • @TheWowWowWest
      @TheWowWowWest 6 місяців тому +8

      It's starting to look like it was just a political stunt, with no clear plan in place for responding to threats. Just the other day a woman lost both her feet after her [hopefully ex] bf pushed her on tracks. Wasting public funds! What that governor needs to do is put that money towards the issues causing these incidents: lack of mental healthcare services and service workers.

    • @AfimiTollerence
      @AfimiTollerence 6 місяців тому

      @@TheWowWowWest They simply need to get rid of these soft on crime policies and keep criminals locked up, especially repeat offenders or ones with criminal history. I live here in NY and I also love NY but I hate what it has become and Im convinced that the governer, mayor, district attornies, and judges...dont care because nothing changes. I didnt vote for any of these clowns and Im sure there are people who also didnt want them in these positions. Best we can do as New Yorkers is vote them out and hope that the next candidate actually cares for the people on NY.

      No, most vehicle owners aren't going to be for this f'ing nonsense abusive money grab.

      40 years ago, the solution to stop subway pushers was to grab hold of the steel pillars when the train arrived so they couldn't push you onto the tracks. Nothing has changed since then. What is needed are steel gates that sequence, open and close with the car doors to keep passengers off the tracks, like they have in Europe and Asia. Bet that never happens here because of money and political disfunction.

    I heard 125th has become a big hangout spot for people who are registered at the homeless shelters for men on ward's island. A lot them are people with mild to severe mental illnesses. But the thing is, the shelters policies don't include making them stay there on site. They're allowed to come and go as they please- just as long as they're back before staff starts making the rounds to see if they're in the facility to claim the beds they're assigned to. There are MTA buses that travel back and forth down 125th to ward's island, so it's the easiest transportation they can get to and hang at until it's time for them to go back. It's likely that some of them hang in the subways instead of sitting out on the street.

      Have you ever been to Union Square 14 Street Station? When the trains pull into the station there is a lot of noise. There are moving parts to the platform because of the way the station is designed. It would take an engineering feat to put up barriers at that station. When I was in high school most people who ended up on the tracks was due to suicide. I saw one woman dead under a train at Atlantic Ave station leaving school one day.

    I used to live in New York for many years. The things I learned about riding the trains up there, is to never stand close to the platform to see if the train is coming. Stand all the way back to the wall as possible and just wait until the train arrive. Always try to sit in the car where the conductor is. Ladies must always keep their purse close to their body.and zipped up. Watch your surroundings and not your cellphone screen. If the train is crowded and you have to hold the rails, don’t allow someone to bump into you, because either that other person is bumping into you to get a free thrill or they’re trying to pickpocket you. My mother was on a crowded subway train one day and when she looked down, a man’s hand was in her coat pocket. She didn’t say anything to him, but just gave him her deadly stare. He eased his hand out of her pocket and took off to a different car. He was lucky that day because I know what that
    little fiery woman would have done to him if he hadn’t 😂. Oh, another thing, never carry your money, keys or valuables in your purse or wallet. Carry them inside your clothing, next to your body. I pray for our citizens up there. I moved south many years ago and now I’m glad I did.
