Greetings from Marilla. I really want a tractor but watching this video I don’t think I could manage driving backwards to clear snow. Keep safe and warm
Over here, about 2 1/2 hrs east of you, last week I used the tractor(open cab) bucket for snow moving as I was home all week. I really needed the tractor therapy. Today I fired up my 25 yr old P/U to punch the ends of my driveways as it has heat. LOL
I personally like shop videos more but gotta switch it up once and awhile with content. It’s like hanging out with a buddy. Thanks for doing what you do
I have an open station tractor as well, try to blow with the wind but still get some snow in my face. That’s still an awesome machine to own. Just one note, I noticed that you have at times lift the blower quite high while the PTO is still engaged something I myself try Not to do to prevent unnecessary strain on the shaft and U joints. I see the wheel kit that you engineered is working out well, and that has been in my plans for a couple of years now. Great video. Aaron from Eastern Canada.
It was a very windy day, and seemed no matter which way I blew the snow, it found its way to my face...youll have days like that for sure. Youre not wrong about lifting the blower too high, probably something I should be more aware of...but that being said U Joints are cheap, and only take a couple minutes to swap out.
BX is more of a lawn mower with a loader on it, but they are still very capable. You should check out Biffs equipment. Pretty sure he has a BX that he does a lot of big boy jobs with!
I have an open cab and snowblower implement too. The snow drifts sure test my patience, but that doesnt mean it's quitting time. Not sure why people bother with the hateful comments when you're doing a good deed.
@@EverythingElliott we encountered some people that would treat us like this. Our City was struck by one of the 26 tornados last year. That was an emergency. My company went out and “helped” the people. We put our work on the back burner for 9days while we hauled out, and bucked up trees. A snow emergency, isn’t quite the same. We all know winter is coming. And if no one prepares for that it isn’t everyone else’s fault. So many people that refuse to pay a seasonal price, who prefer to shovel tried to find someone to take care of their driveway. Only to find we were booked up and refusing to service them as a “one off” In the middle of the storm our focus is servicing our exclusive list. If you want to be serviced now, the only way was to get on the list. Once the storm was completely over then we started digging others out. But like you we used similar pricing structures to be fair. I was told I was too expensive by some. I told them, imagine yourself shoveling your driveway, how long do you think that will take you? 10hrs? Multiply that by 10 it’s 100$ then reminded them that their time is worth more than $10/hr so they are getting a deal. The people that called and “pushed back hard” would tell me that they couldn’t get anyone, no one would answer the phone, or that the plow had tried and failed and they had no other options. I told them to call me back when they were ready. After some reflection and realization, they would call back and I would dig them out. The storm brought out all of the guys that were willing to “shovel for $10” and people to plow for $20-40. It wasn’t reasonable. And people held to that. We were called to help so many that their provider pushed the snow up to the front doors, or the garage door, some of the doors were totally pushed right in. The company’s that plow professionally did well, but some of the people that just slap on a plow, are just not helpful. The storm was a crucible for those legitimately working. I pulled out 24” in the same driveways multiple times with in hours of having been there so many times. I applaud your effort to work out in your local area, and I’m glad you bill for your effort. Keep up your content.
Elliott don't worry about those people that bagel you out. I like to see them brave the snow helping out other people, I like to see what they would charge. I think you doing a fantastic job, keep up the good work keep the videos coming .By the way I live in Sydney Australia we don't get any snow here, but I can only imagine what it would be like for you there..
I appreciate the encouragement! Awesome to see people from other counties watching my videos, especially when you wont ever have the opportunity to do any snowremoval!
Good old WNY snow. I lived 51 years of my life in NY and enjoyed the big snow. Loved plowing it. Was the first thing I did when I returned from Vietnam. Had one of those 15" days. Don't get that kind of snow here in Central Michigan. Love that snow blower. Makes short work of things
Your doing good things helping others there needs to be more of that in this world. Side note as a temporary shield put a piece of plexi on your headache rack might work???
My buddy just fabbed a cab. it is amazing how well it worked.. He put a small in line heater in it with a blower for the windows. wiper on back and front window. He can unbolt it and lift off for the summer, Go for it. Nice project to have on the Utube . FYI a curtis cab is probably 5-7K
I can't find a commercially available hard cab for a Kubota L4701, so if you know of one, send it along. I've checked with all the major manufacturers. I did find one out of Italy, but I'm sure the shipping would make it very cost prohibitive. They make a soft sided cab, but I don't want one of those flimsy cabs flopping around.
Get yourself a full face snowmobile helmet and use that while snow blowing with your tractor. It will keep you warm and you won't have any issues with snow blowing back in your face.
I can't justify a new tractor, and they don't make a commercially available tractor cab for my tractor. Either buying a new tractor, or making my own cab are my only options, and since I'm not buying a new tractor...I think we all know what needs to happen.
Excellent EE.. good job mate.. nothing will change peoples perspective.. I hear you. There's a certain type of person that just likes to complain about stuff. I'm in the planning stages of that cab, it's a long process, however, its underway!
Original Cub Tractor with a cab? or an Original tractor Cab (the company)? I don't want a soft sided cab, I would prefer a hard side, which I can't find one that is commercially available for the Kubota L4701
That snow blower makes quick work of moving snow. Idk why we in the USA do not use front pto & 3pt like other countries . That would make that job not so much of a pain in the neck .
So I’ve been looking into that, because it should be a thing! Fendt was recently introduced Into the states with a factory option of a front PTO. Something to seriously consider…
Apologize, I haven’t watched alllof your videos. Have you ever looked into an inverted blower? I think that would be quite helpful on your property as well as others
I have looked at them, never tried one. One major fault of the inverted as far as I can tell is with the storms we get, it’s often that I’ll Find a 5’ wall of heavy pack snow at the road from the county plows. I would need to dig that out with the loader because the tractor wouldn’t be able to drive through it. With my blower I can just back right into it and make it disappear.
@@EverythingElliott you have a smaller machine than I do, I understand the point. We just went through an 80” event here and we had all sorts of snow coming out everywhere. Anyways our tractors worked well. We use what we like to call the PAC man method. Pull up as high as you can back up as far as you can, engage and get rid of it. Keep doing it till you have gotten through it. Now there will be some that say that’s not efficient. And compared to the rear facing in that exact moment they aren’t wrong. But the inverted is so efficient that it is miles ahead of the other for completion time. Additionally working around the vehicles would be much simpler and you can stay out of “some of the snow” that blows around from the plume. They do make units for your size machine. I would strongly encourage at least getting some seat time on one, it will help you understand so much. I know exactly what it’s like, and I’ve had all sorts of “reasons why it doesn’t work” pointed out to me, my friends and colleagues. But at the end of the day it’s amazing. You could always get a front mount blower. Smaller tractors have mid mount PTOs that you can run a front blower off
I'd say your just having fun - LOL. Keep helping as you like. Stay safe.
70% fun, 30% work!

Well...If I end up building the cab for my tractor, there will be plenty of "in the shop" videos. Thanks for sticking around!
All you need now is for HLA to send you a new snow pusher to try out on the front of your tractor 😉😉
Wouldn't that be something! If you know someone over there, tell them to send one along haha
You can keep the snow!! I did just get a new snow removal piece of equipment myself.
