@@kennethfich5225 There's much more to it than just power to weight. It has a great torque and power curve, but the 296 has less drivetrain losses, has much more power, probably somewhere closer to 900hp, as it even walks the Mclaren 765lt despite weighing like 250+kg more. In reference to Matt calling out the Ferrari's displacement, the "29" in the name 296GTB is a reference to the 2.9L engine and the 6 is for the 6 cylinders. Same naming scheme is used on other ferraris like the 458 and the 308, so you could argue that its a 2.9
There’s no way McLaren and Porsche are not lying about their numbers. Porsche is always conservative with their figures but that McLaren must be well over 800hp
I dont think they are tbh...its just that the McLaren gearbox is better. I've seen similar things with the 720s vs the 911 Gt2 Rs. When the McLaren puts in 4th it takes off.

We want McLaren 765lt vs Lamborghini Revulto vs Ferrari Sf90 vs Porsche 911 turbo s >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
True
Easily one of the best sounding drag races on this channel
killer drag race as always👍
bro didn’t even watch the whole vid
@@moosess yes 😅
I remember when Turbo s had time of 10.1
@@boskofilipovic1927 it was cold out there during the race.. tires are colder and the ground is colder which means traction is worse.
@@boskofilipovic1927R390GT1 1999 also has 9.98 seconds drag time.
Ferrari still the car to beat all round, even when the Mclaren got a good jump, the Ferrari was reeling it in
Great race! It's incredible de diference of the 750S and 296GTB on the Turbo S and Huracan P on the rolling race, they look like fighter jets taking off... wow!
@@992turbos but still lost
@@jozefjozefczyk3936You must be really smart for pointing that out.
Yeah, but Porsche having almost kept pace with them, despite having much less power
@@thespalek1 650hp Porsche and 750hp mclaren is 300hp less??
@@jozefjozefczyk3936doesn't matter it is still 100hp less. The point is porsche has LESS power heaviest of all and yet it kept the same pace. GERMAN ENGINEERING.😎
I'm pretty sure the Porsche has done 10.2 secs on CARWOW. The race was awesome. These are the races subscribe for
Actually it did 10.01 in this channel.
As ever the times are down to road surface and weather conditions. The Ferrari and McLaren will do 9's in the same sort of conditions the Turbo S does 10.1.
The 296 has done 9.7 in other channels
Yeah i just said that as well, ita done 10.1 but usually averages 10.2
@oguzhanakkaya3843 fake numbers lol
Can we just appreciate how the Lambo still held up despite being 8 years old?
8 years💀 dam time flies fast
the perfomante is a newer model bro
The performante came out much later
Most importantly it is naturally aspirated
I'm sure a 20 year old bugatti veyron would hold up, or a decade old laferrari, or a decade old aventador, or a decade old huarya, or a 30 year old f1(on a roll), what im tryna say is that the date and time don't matter it's the wheels, power and weight
One of your best ever drag races. 4 absolute monsters
That Ferrari is too good
That 296 is something innit
Oooo Matt, Yianni is going to have you for this one @24:42 Thank guys for another awesome comparison vid!
7:16 first race
12:52 second race
16:24 third race
Turbo s incredible as always. I can't wait to see the new hybrid
Last in two out of three rolling races
Third in the drag
Yes very incredible 🤷
@@UchihaM23just consider the opposition stats bro🥱
@@UchihaM23 if you had any brains you would have understood his comment.
Didn't they run a 9.8 in a previous race with a turbo?
@@UchihaM23 turbo s is a tier below than those u will know that if u know cars the price gave it away, put in the gt 2 rs and it will be different story
Porsche continues to do impressive things. The launch was amazing. Loved watching this.
As much as i like these drag races. Id love to see more car reviews like they used to do
Yep, striaght line speed only tells you so much in regards to the merits of a car.
Like racing them on an actual track?
I eagerly await the races compared to the reviews😆
Me too. Just basic cars. Nothing fancy.
Those 296 engines sound amazing with catless downpipes. Sounds the best out there imo.
The engine in the Lambo will earn a place in automotive history as one of the all-time greats. Most definitely, awesome bit of kit. BTW I can remember Performantes doing 10.4 secs for the 1/4 mile here on carwow...
Congrats to Audi to build this Engine and Gearbox.
Yes they definitely have done 10.4 before. Pretty sure a 720 has done below what the 750 did today though too
As ever the timings on the day are down to road condition and weather. All cars underperformed on the day by about the same margin. The Turbo S for instance has done 10.1's.
Exactly!!! That v10 giving it everything it has
The new mics are doing justice on the sound tests... Perfection!!!
This race is indeed one of the most exciting races that you ever did!
If you can reel in a 750s....you've got some serious power
As a Lamborghini fan boy I’ll have to give props to that Porsche, that car really is a rocket. I love how it can run such numbers and performance “all day everyday” as Yianni would say.
That number plate on 911, used to be assigned to a red one...! Nice video as always and 911 turbo s is still so competitive!
It's one of their press-car numbers plates, it has been on a lot of cars over the years. I can imagine the press car turning up at some point in the dealership '1 woman owner, never launched' ha!
911HUL has been on Porsche UK press cars since the 80's
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
Spoon Civic with engine swap to 600bhp can also beaten this 296GTB.
yawn. boring.
Gay movie 😂
Lol that little Ferrari is something else, what a monster performance. Very quick!
This had to be one of the best carwow vids of all time. Nice to see even after so many years of great races
Oh what a day, my god that 296 is fire damnit... The sound from that V10 is intoxicating 🔥🔥
It’s a V6!!!
That turbo is really a sleeper in the supercar world
Lol, there is no one in this world who thinks turbo s is slow.
That Ferrari just makes that lambo look average in speed
In reference to Matt calling out the Ferrari's displacement, the "29" in the name 296GTB is a reference to the 2.9L engine and the 6 is for the 6 cylinders. Same naming scheme is used on other ferraris like the 458 and the 308, so you could argue that its a 2.9
This isn't always true. The 612 Scaglietti had a 5.7 litre V12 but the name indicated a 6 litre V12.
@@powerslider30477 Well, 5712 would be awkward. Or should they maybe have done 57 * 10 + 12 = 582 ?😄
The 308 gtb had a 2926.90cc V8, so it was a 2.9 litre V8 and the name should have been 298 gtb instead of 308 gtb.
Can’t wait to see ferrari F250.. ferrari makes the fastest supercar nowadays.
Ferrari 296 is my pick of the bunch. What a beauty😍🔥
Only ferrari can rival a ferrari. ❤
Great ! 😍
And this "little" Ferrari is insanely fast ! The best car of the crew here.
Nice line up..love the variation of engine displacements …
ICE cars❤…
Lambo sounds epic
On 5:43 twin-turbo is written 3 different ways 🙂
should be re-named , old guys on walkie talkies
There’s no way McLaren and Porsche are not lying about their numbers. Porsche is always conservative with their figures but that McLaren must be well over 800hp
They always underestimate their engines, and porsche has the PDK that is highly efficient
Protip: it is indeed over 800hp.

@@karlwithak. nobody cares tbh
@@karlwithak.Porsche always underestimate their cars power. What are you yapping about bro be quite 😂
I dont think they are tbh...its just that the McLaren gearbox is better.
I've seen similar things with the 720s vs the 911 Gt2 Rs.
When the McLaren puts in 4th it takes off.
Waiting for that kind of race pretty long. Great stuff👍
That editing while googling 2.9L made me laugh so hsrd and sam "are you on the phone?" Love the little bloopers!
Nick talking about the stats on the Lamborghini and Mat has his radio turned off to see if he's right! Comical. 😆
4:16 meanwhile dudes still talking😂
😂
Would love to see a GTI generations race (only because GTI's are more or less affordable, and many of us drive them)! Include both VR6 models too, the 12v and the 24v. That would be one fun and interesting race!
That Ferrari with a tiny v6 engine is an absolute fucking masterpiece.
The 750S is actually a spider with 50kg heavier. If its the coupe it could be even quicker
Wow just noticed
Nice catch
And swap out the tyres from pzero, the car will fly. It was slipping for Mat in the 50mph runs.
The 911 off the line will always continue to impress me. What an incredible piece of engineering!!
AWD
Funny how McLaren's street car can hook up off the start but Norris or piastri cant.
Being at a disadvantage I’m super impressed with the Lamborghini! No turbos or electric assist. 😊
Feel like the 750s and the 296 can do much better considering the video of the 296 vs sf90. Just rewatched it, the sf90 got a 09.9 and the 296 got 10.3 on a track that isn't exactly dry dry, knowing that the sf90 on dry can go abit quicker, that could mean the same for the 296 and 750s since both are rwd i assume, i know the turbo s is awd and id guess the lambo is as well. Btw i think mclaren might be using wheel hp instead of crank, considering how close the 750s is to the 765lt, the 911 has shown 10.1s b4 as well.
This is what i subscribed for🔥🔥🔥
Keep these kind of races coming💥💥
That's the best color I've seen on the 911.
Watching a Turbo S consistently launch is hypnotic
