- In episode 21 we arrive in Little Corn Island, Nicaragua, a completely under-the-radar tropical paradise replete with unspoiled coral reefs, pristine beaches, without a single car or road in sight. This tiny island of about 1,000 inhabitants is home to indigenous Miskito and Creole people who speak English, Miskito and Spanish. Much of the island is immersed in tropical vegetation, criss crossed by walking paths which lead to a growing number of tiny bars and restaurants right on the sand.
With limited electricity and WIFI, this is a place where you'll want to be outdoors. We spent the last day of 2019 snorkeling with sharks and stingrays just off the norther coast of the Island, before heading to an unbelievable New Year's Eve celebration with a fireworks show overlooking this magical island. Hands down, Little Corn Island is Latin America's most underrated destination, completely off the beaten path, an otherworldly escape from tourist-fatigued beaches and towns across the region.

I lived in Nicaragua from September of 2011 to May of 2019 and had the pleasure of going to Little Corn Island four times, it's my favorite place in the world! I miss Nicaragua and LCI very much these days and it was wonderful to see your video, thanks so much for sharing!

If you thought that plane was small, go up in a Cessna 172! I lived in country for a year and plan to drive back from Alabama just as soon as I am able, this time to stay.

Cool! Looks and sounds much like the Bay Islands of Honduras. If you haven’t, you should check them out.
It’s just sad that the coral is all bleached, though.
Hopefully one day we will get back to Central America so we can visit Honduras and Belize!

Amazing. I went long time ago to small island close to the port of Corinto and it was similar to this. The water was so clear you can see the fish and the coral.

i´m Nicaraguan born but my father was German, currently living in Germany but Working in Italy, i was in Little corn maybe 7 years ago and man... there was some color in the coral reef, so sad to see how bad it has became
