This MC’s VA is one of the few able to keep the emotional delivery that the japanese ones all seem to nail, without making the english lines sound super campy, cringey, or childish. Its such a subtle difference, you can hear it in the scene with the girl towards the end of the video. Something about his delivery is just so incredibly captivating to me. Ive never watched the show, but each scene on youtube makes me want to go lift weights or fight someone on the street. I wish we had more like him in the industry.
Believe it or not he only did voice work to pay for medical school. Dr. Gatha really gave it his all in a way few English VOs can. He loves the work he did too, I remember him saying he'd like to redo lines for the first season if it ever gets remastered.
I’d love to have an anime where Mark Agatha and Johnny Yong Bosch are fighting and doing their hot blooded hero voices and the raw manliness melts the tv.

Wing was definitely a first. You could walk into most ordinary stores and actually buy imported Japanese wing model kits. I do recall getting at least a couple g gundam kits before they stopped selling them. Edit: also, I literally just bough both deathsycthe and wing gundam figures at Walmart just a day ago... no g gundam in sight. Just saying. Edit 2: they keep them in the electronics section.
I love the music that accompanies the entire dialogue. Brings chills down my spine. Every time that guy talks I get a huge smile on my face and get super hyped. He is such a good voice actor.
Lol the last scene. They profess their love for each other, do some dancing in the middle of the final showdown, launch the most powerful attack ever thanks to the power of love, defeat the bad guy, he picks up the babe, says a line, and then they lived happily ever after.
I hope Mark looks back fondly on his work in the VA industry. I'm still re-watching G Gundam and playing MMX8 and MMXCM, twenty years later, and I still love and adore the earnestness of his performances in those roles (obligatory "REDIPS!" reference). He's doing bigger and better things with his life than entertaining us plebeians; he's actually healing and bringing comfort to people in a meaningful way, and bless him for achieving his full potential in that area. So, I can live with him walking away from the industry. Still, there are few who were/are able to bring the same honest intensity to their VA performances that he does almost effortlessly. Our time together was short, Mark, but we appreciate what you gave us; red-hot intensity and a "burning" desire to do your best. Keep saving and improving lives.

It's actually Tenkyoken. It's a combination move with his Sekiha Tenkyoken, the Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken. It's basically a straight translation of the japanese move name word for word.
There’s one I was hoping to see here, it was during Domon’s final match with Sai, who takes out one of his arms: “I did it! I won!” Then Gutha freaking growl-yells *”NO! I’M DONE YET!”* Like damn dude, I believe you! Like Domon was legit offended and pissed at this kid thinking he was about to win 🤣

Actually, fun fact, I found this series through Rockman X8, and Maverick Hunter X. I saw everyone making references to G Gundam in the comment sections bc of X's VA, and talking about the very obvious ref to it in the X OVA... I eventually looked into it, and in turn I fell in love very quickly. Mark Gatha was such an amazing voice actor, and I wish he was still going at it. He'd be one of the big name ones for sure.

@@SkylineGTr1627 all Gundam shows I’ve watched are very good but I wouldn’t say G Gundam was childish, the very concept of giant machines fighting each other isn’t very realistic since they’re often to big and heavy to function in reality, this show knows that and plays it extremely well creating a over the top narrative that rarely slows down and always entertains.
G Gundam was a really refreshing section of the gundam series, with enough camp and over-the-top antics mixed in with its usual messaging. Like, up until this point most entries in the Gundam series were the same "space/earth colonies warring" with themes of why war is awful and such. G Gundam does the same though its more environmentally conscious kinda thing, if you take the Master's words to heart. Anyway that said, stepping back and realizing these are big crazy armor machines and saying "yeah you know what, that is kinda crazy, isn't it?" and just doing what you want with design lets it be wholly free and unique. Also Domon's english VA sounds like he's giving it everything and it's amazing

This show is so ridiculous looking back at it now, but I still love it. When the actual King of Hearts appears in the final attack I laughed because he I was expecting him to charge with a sword or something, not just stand menacingly. I kind of want to see an edit of the Burger King in that spot instead. You know, that creepy one who appeared out of nowhere and would present people with food.

rakeem khalifa Gundam seed is also another good one. I actually finished rewatching Gundam wing. I was only a kid when i saw it and now that Im older I can actually understand the story line rather than seeing cool robots lol
@@SkylineGTr1627 all Gundam shows I’ve watched are very good but I wouldn’t say G Gundam was childish, the very concept of giant machines fighting each other isn’t very realistic since they’re often to big and heavy to function in reality, this show knows that and plays it extremely well creating a over the top narrative that rarely slows down and always entertains.

G Gundam was a really refreshing section of the gundam series, with enough camp and over-the-top antics mixed in with its usual messaging. Like, up until this point most entries in the Gundam series were the same "space/earth colonies warring" with themes of why war is awful and such. G Gundam does the same though its more environmentally conscious kinda thing, if you take the Master's words to heart.
Anyway that said, stepping back and realizing these are big crazy armor machines and saying "yeah you know what, that is kinda crazy, isn't it?" and just doing what you want with design lets it be wholly free and unique.
Also Domon's english VA sounds like he's giving it everything and it's amazing

This show is so ridiculous looking back at it now, but I still love it. When the actual King of Hearts appears in the final attack I laughed because he I was expecting him to charge with a sword or something, not just stand menacingly. I kind of want to see an edit of the Burger King in that spot instead. You know, that creepy one who appeared out of nowhere and would present people with food.
