- Unlike most countries which would come up with ways to add a scope to their standard service rifle, the Swiss had elected to build a new rifle from the ground up with a similar action & Manual of arms as their existing infantry rifle, the K31. Production of the ZFK55 began in 1955, with the weapon being adopted the same year; production ended in 1959 with 4,150 examples built. This exceptionally rare rifle is extremely fortunate enough to come with the original Kern Aarau scope, serial number matching to the Rifle, as well as the scope box which is also serial matching.
