@@bryanstockhausen5077 Please read my first comment again. Take MJ (basketball player) for example. There are even multiple interviews of him forfeiting this title because he wanted to respect all the great people who played before him. If you cannot as a "Fellow Israelite" figure out how to play a sport for fun and without "dominating" someone else I think you have an issue. Also, the disciples were arguing who would be greatest in HEAVEN which again how can you compare that to an NBA championship which is nothing more than a profession. You compete in your profession every day too. If you do poorly there are people waiting to take your spot in your job and do better than you and also whether you may not like to admit it or not when you are at work you know when you're a better worker than someone else but it doesn't mean arrogance until you start to act on that feeling in a bad way (which a lot of Christians do in the church, forget talking about profession). You're acting as if sports players think they are the best humans in the world and they are gods because they've won a sport. They are just extremely happy that they've done well in their profession which happens to be a sport. Also, God is one to talk about competition and sport. He literally wrestled Jacob and was losing so messed up his hip to win. Don't act like people winning a sport is equivalent to them trying to say that they are higher than God or better than other men in all aspects of life. If you actually followed sport and followed athletes you would know that is entirely not the case. Also, the world of sport is wide so you will get arrogant people but are CHRISTIANS one to talk about arrogance. There are SOOO many arrogant Christians, especially pastors and deacons who think they are better and more holy anointed than the common congregation. The entire medieval ages is bishops and clergymen high in the church using it for political power and treating common church people like scum. Come with a better argument, please 😑😑😑

Fitness boxing is absolutely no problem at all. Real boxing isn't in my opinion, the goal of boxing is too hurt someone as bad as possible so you win, this is very much sin. Other sports Contain violence too, but it isnt the goal and often it is punished.
Romans 12:18: “If possible, as far as it depends on you, be peaceable with all men.” The Scriptures clearly show that we are to produce the fruitage of God’s spirit such as love, peace, joy, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22,23) Professional boxing flies in the face of all such fruitage. We are also told to live our neighbors as ourselves and love does not work evil to one’s neighbor. (Romans 13:9,10) Life is a gift, so risking one’s life or hurting another person can also lead a fighter to become a manslayer. (1John 3:15)

The works of the flesh according Galatians, which says that those who do them will not inherit the kingdom, include strife, rivalries, fits of anger, envy, and divisions. Sports perpetuates these works among us. Hard to defend sports as something that would be endorsed by Christ.
Really? Sports teach skill and discipline and team work. God wants warriors. Some things in life need to be learned through physical pain. This is how soldiers are created. Soldiers fight and protect. Just like a shepard like David used his training to defeat Goliath. God knows what terrible things man is capable of. Sports teach young man and woman valuable lessons. Teamwork. Fighting past pain. Never quit. You couldn't be more wrong. God values competition and hard work and sacrifice.
interesting, i have thought about this before. i agree that sports can definitely temp people with pride, fits of anger, and rivalries. however division could be a reference to racism, and segregation. the bible also says the lord will give you the desires of your heart if you delight in him. and zeal for God could be incorporated into someone playing sports. please share more if you can find more verses that speak on this stuff

It's a great question, it ultimately comes down to where your heart is when it comes to sport. For example does glorifying your own name come before glorifying God? This might look like wanting to win so badly you treat competitors poorly or seek approval for your own sporting achievement from others more than you are willing to share Jesus with them. For everyone in competitive sport this will be a danger, so pray God would use you in your context of sport for his glory first and not your own, and thank him for the gift of sport every time you are about to go and train or play.

This is a bad message. Sports should not be played. You cannot play a sport without having competition. Competition is of the Devil not of God. Can anyone imagine Jesus playing soccer??? No. There's not a single good positive loving outcome that come when you play a sport or any other competition game. Rev: 3 "As many as I love I rebuke" This is what mainstream non denomination and many other churches would agree to. But bible says to be different, peculiar to be holy people. Hi Siera - how would you understand Paul's use of the imagery of competing, striving and winning in 2 Timothy 2 and 4? Winning and losing don't seem to be an issue within Paul's theology and actually can be seen as a place where Christians can grow in maturity as they compete.
When wanting to deffeet some one some times automatically a feeling of hateret is trigered and specilly when doing things like Boxing etc. , knowing that our bodies is a temple of God, having it being subject to hard knocks and mistreat and bruises is not very godly.
But he give us a brain and that brain that can think and then thoughts comes from him so who invented these things when God makes the brain and the brain works only because of God it was because of God he's the one that came out with these games cuz he made us it made our legs and not everybody can run fast jump over fence play basketball swim fast play football basketball I'm being awfully inmate special people that can do these things not everybody can do the things that's completely healthy and they still can't do it so he does like sports or he wouldn't even allow you to be able to do them and just because you can't do them don't mean that. Well I think the Bible does it speak about sports some where it talks about being being play I don't know what else to say so goodbye for now
Of course you are right - but this problem is not unique to sport, it's present in all of life! It's important to be careful as you've said - to pray that God would enable you to glorify Him first in everything you do, whether that's in your sport, work, church life or anything else.

Hey guys, just wanna know if its okay for me to do skateboarding as a hobby. Im a Christian and I love the Lord. Im also a girl is it ok?
No one steps into the playing field to lose but to win, to excel above the opponent, to compete, and with competition comes pride (l am better, stronger, faster and smarter etc) and pride was in the devil and the beginning of downfall (ISIAH 14:13-15) i mean..2 grps of devoted Christians steps into the playing field at rivalry with each other both prayed to God for victory to glorify him.. but in the end one wins and one losses, is God being bias? God is no respector of person meaning he is just (not bias) and he never changes, same forever.. then what went wrong? Are we not causing confusion (which God is not the author of..as the Bible declared) God has no pleasure what so ever in enmity but amity, let us do things that is pure in motive and action and has no intention of bringing harm to our neighbors physically and spiritually, and stop doing doing everything that has no relation to God whatsoever but are being labelled "giving Glory to God" when in reality we just want to consume it upon our lust..God bless 🙏

Bro in our relationship in GOD, taking up cross daily is needed like our Lord Jesus Christ; His passion is to glorify our GOD by sufferings.
It's normal on human that there are a lot of things that our like but there is a limit I mean that we should not love the worldy things but bro. the grace and love of GOD to us is bigger than our sins so that He understand our weaknesses but all our need to do is to confess our sins daily and He will forgives us like we forgive who mades tresspases on us. God bless bro and all of us
But soccer is not from God. It's from the devil 😈. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:10 (KJV) He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

@@bryanstockhausen5077 Please read my first comment again. Take MJ (basketball player) for example. Does he know he is good at the sport? sure and whenever he steps on a court he will try to prove he is good but by no means has he ever called himself the greatest.

Nope. It's just a flip. Shouldn't make it an idol, and do the flip for God!
Its not biblical if you do it for entertainment of others. Its ok to play for personal reasons but not for money. You are just saying bunch of verses that have nothing to do with sport. You do not honor God by entertaining Him!!!!!!!
What can your human hands ever do for God? Has he not served you?
As a Christian can i go to boxing just for fun to just work out my arms and not to hurt anybody? Is that a sin? Will god like it?
Go box like crazy. God literally wrestled Jacob then got up in the morning and blessed him. That is the meaning of sport, does God hate Jacob for wrestling him? or for fighting back? He even was winning and God had to dislocate his hip so that he could win. Even after all that they still hugged it out and God blessed him afterward. That is the meaning of sport so if you wanna box then go crazy. Go knock someone out
Fitness boxing is absolutely no problem at all.

So no soccer? It creates no anger or strife in me. In fact, it brings me closer to my teammates
@@AJBproductionss These feeling can only be there in competition. If you do it for fun what's the problem?
God values competition and hard work and sacrifice.
interesting, i have thought about this before. i agree that sports can definitely temp people with pride, fits of anger, and rivalries. however division could be a reference to racism, and segregation. the bible also says the lord will give you the desires of your heart if you delight in him. and zeal for God could be incorporated into someone playing sports. please share more if you can find more verses that speak on this stuff

what does idolizing sports look like?
It's a great question, it ultimately comes down to where your heart is when it comes to sport. For example does glorifying your own name come before glorifying God? This might look like wanting to win so badly you treat competitors poorly or seek approval for your own sporting achievement from others more than you are willing to share Jesus with them. For everyone in competitive sport this will be a danger, so pray God would use you in your context of sport for his glory first and not your own, and thank him for the gift of sport every time you are about to go and train or play.
Me realizing sports are filled with seven deadly sins and loving my team was idolation
