For all of you asking. You need to beat the secret boss on the Lava mountain. Keep talking to the bull at every appearance you see him. You will kill the 4 carts then enter the cave to fight the last boss. Then go to the pagoda.
He will appear 2 different times. Then you veer off the path and you will find another pathway where the spinning ball was at. You'll see the last cart then you break the ice to the cave to the secret boss.
This whole video is wrong none of the loongs have to be killed unless it’s to get secret staffs. To get the true ending you have to enter every secret area and beat that area yaoguai
@@LordEyepatch just got to the area, you do need to do ALL secret areas in each chapter, as well as the final chapter (killing the big stone guy) and only then he appears

You do not have to beat the great sage in order to get to the great pagoda.. you can do all the side quest and secret areas to fight him first!!

U heard you have to do four secret areas. One being Elder Jinchi in the first chapter

My friend didn’t beat the final boss and go to this area I beat the game but NG+ did all these steps and he didn’t pop up
