The piston, connecting rod, and crankshaft are a balanced rotating assembly. Now that you removed weight from the piston, are you re-balancing the rotating assembly?
Nope!!! Full send!!! Never had an issue with it and idles smooth as butter. The crank is balanced from the factory, miles above what an AM crank will be. Very rarely does one ever balance after a top end change, even if done by a dealer. You may see a tick more wear on the intake skirt a lot sooner. But with a spicy "race" build its inevitable anyways. That's my thoughts anyhow. As long as the crank halfs dont rotate, then you'll have problems, but a quick tack weld will solve that too!!! 👍🏻
Love the info! I hope you did well bro that's just sweet. I like your cab mod. I think if I had done a carb upgrade, mine would have been hands down way better than it is. I couldn't find what I wanted and when I finally found a carb, I had already sent it with Boedy. Lol. I should have waited just another week! Lol hind sight is 20/20. I really like your build. I'm sure I'll be using everyone's ideas and trying a really cool experiment after all the videos drop! We shall see how it goes.
That saw sounds peppy, i am lookin forward to seeing it in the wood. I am currently building a closed port 55, i have been trying to find a suitable piston for it, looks like little red barn has the only windowed piston available. I have not tryed there pistons yet, do you have any experience with there pistons. Great job on the content, happy new year!
I've used a bunch of their pistons, not 1 issue yet, I think most problems with them are install errors, or just bad air leaks that fry the new piston and people blame the piston. But I've used probably 30ish with no issues.
Looks and sounds great! I'm sure it will be a good performing setup. I wanted to ask where did you get your small head 90 degree fordem tool? What size is the collet on that thing? It looks tiny. Really enjoy the content. I'm hooked. 👍🏻
Thank you man I appreciate it. The head comes from Shaun Carr at Lucky Dog Manufacturing, they use a special 3/32 shank that Shaun makes to adapt it. Works awesome 👍🏻
Jus curious what piston cylinder you used? I've been tweaking with my late 50 and currently have 028 in dukes cylinder...I will be buying another stock 46 setup ported ...really would love another saw to mess with even better a 61 lol 272 hybrid
Thank you man!!! The right angle grinder and bits come from Lucky Dog Manufacturing, he makes the adapter handle in house to adapt to the flex shaft. luckydogmfg.com/products/angled-porting-handpiece-kit grinders.
Shaun Carr from YT is who sells them. Look up srcarr52, the others I just buy flex shaft heads from amazon or ebay. I need to do a good video on the tools I use.
I don't know about your cellphone service were you live but here were I'm at you drop calls all the time. That pretty much much settled for the moon landing thing for me. If you can't communicate now I doubt the talked and had live moon landing back the 60s. Just saying. You all have a great 2024.
I am 💯 with you!!! I say all the time, we drive a drone and buddy on Mars, but can't get cell service to someone 20miles away 😂😂 I'm a big nut and conspiracy fan of all kinds. Check out the Why Files if you like stuff like that on YT.
that 55 sound's wicked ...good work Dubb
Wasn't too bad of a day here either, sun was shining early on, warmed things up a bit, I wish you a Happy New Year !
Happy New Year Chris!!! 👍🏻
Nice shed! I have 8 saws all bone stock, but i enjoyed watching your modifications. Happy new year.
Thank you, I love it but I wish now it was double sized 😆, but im thankful I have what I do. 👍🏻

I used the Dukes Chrome P&C kit 👍🏻 61/268/272 make for some sweet saws. Can't go wrong there.
Nice as always! On a another note, where did you find your dental drills? Thats a great idea for port work!

Sounds peppy!
😊
👍🏻 buddy!!! Happy New Years!!!!
That sounds great, do you have to be careful to take the same amount off of each side of the piston or does that not matter? Happy New Year
I'm sure it affects it some, but honestly I just send it 👍🏻
