In this video, Pakistan spin bowling legend Saqlain Mushtaq delivers a finger spin bowling masterclass to two young cricketers from Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club.
Most well known for pioneering the doosra, Saqlain represented his country on 218 occasions, taking 208 wickets in 49 Test matches and 288 wickets at an average of just 21.78 in 169 ODIs.
Throughout the video, you’ll hear him talk about the secrets to success when bowling spin, the different variations a finger spinner should have in their armoury, how to read the batter and much more.

So sad to see pakistan couldn't even produce such spinners after retirements of these legends, including Saeed Ajmal.
Ajmal is not in the same class, I’m afraid. He needed rule changes to be deemed a legal bowler and his career ended because he continued chucking.
And what a bowler Ajmal was! Not a single No Ball throughout his professional bowling career. Across all three formats T20 (64), ODIs (113), Tests (35).

Great work Saqi Bhi. I like the explanation of the finger hook on the ball. This is something I developed later in my life and wanted to make a video on it as the ball spins and swings more. I will make a video on this very soon on my channel.

Amazing bowler. Always loved watching Saqlain playing against us Aussies. Often did not go well for us, but you absolutely had to appreciate his skill. I don't know if we have seen a better off-spinner since this guy. Such a calm coach as well - must be great to work with someone like this.
