I'm 56yo and just got my Learner's Permit here in Australia less than a week ago. I'm a beginner rider. I own a brand new 2024 CBR500R exactly the model in this video. It's my first bike and I absolutely love it. Even just riding around my town the number of people who turn to look at the bike or comment to me about how good the bike looks. For me it's a perfect combination of good looks and it's tame enough that I never feel it's going to be too much bike for me to control. I'm very happy with my purchase of this bike. As a beginner who tested this bike, I think it's much more than enough to have good fun and comfortable rides across long and short distances. I feel like it's a good Jack of all trades (master of none), kind of an hybrid between a roadster, a sport, and a touring. I think that professionals and experienced riders might not like it as they probably search something more specific ; but for a beginner it seems like a very polyvalent bike. My personal feeling when I rode it : I smiled during all the test because I had fun from the moment I sat on until I gave the keys back. As always it's essential to test a vehicle before buying, you can have good and bad surprises.
There is no such thing as a beginner supersport motorcycle, this is technically a sport bike but actually rides more like a naked with sport looks. Bikes become "supersport" from 600cc and up
I’m looking to get into track racing in the new year and theres a 2013 for sale near me, would you call this good for someone who’s got street riding experience but is new to the track?

Weight equals highway stability, great for beginner riders which is what this bike is aimed at

go get it-- learn on it then move up as you progress..
I love mine. If it had different maps like track/street would have been better
