as a Canadian I thank you for making this video, however i must point out that you forgot about Tommy Douglas and the founding of the C.C.F. (Co-operative Commonwealth Federation) that would later be know as the N.D.P. and how the great depression and all of Bennett's crackdowns basically made them a thing in the first place so yeah, maybe make a video on that please and thank you

Your booze ,and willingness to sell it to us, made a huge difference in America.
[Not a knock, mind you. We'd have gotten it from whomever. Hell...we DID get it from whomever.] It did help some people who wouldn't have made it through the era otherwise. There is a degree of noble defiance in helping people have a good time.

I don't know about King since he's Canadian but that's a false myth for Hoover.
He actually did do stuff. He forced corporations and business leaders to keep both wages and prices high, infested heavily into public work programs, created the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, increased farm subsidies enormously and signed the Smoot-Hawley trade bill.
The actual issue was that this was all ineffective and did little to help anyone. Especially the trade deal arguably.

His parents were from the north of England, both were workers and both very serious Communists. in that community, pretty much everybody was an immigrant and a Communist. My dad remembers he went to his first eviction demonstration at the age of 6 and they let him carry the flag. Nobody went to jail, i suppose because poor Communists weren't that interesting.

The way you pronounce Regina is really sweet. As a Canadian in the west, I've only ever known it as re-gina where the "gina" bit is pronounced like how it is in the word Vagina. Be it news anchors, politicians, or locals of regina, regina rhymes whith vagina. Like it's clear that it should probably be pronounced the way you said it, cause that's an actual name for which the city got its namesake, but I've never in my life heard it that way. And it's not just a big dunk on Regina that people pronounce it like vagina either, thats actually the correct pronunciation.

I am writing this in April 2021 from The lockdown capitol of the world, Ontario Canada. will you be updating this episode, now that canada is going into a second Great Depression with the underemployment rate of 20% while at the same time, martial law is being declared as the police state moves forward and the Canadian constitution and charter of right and freedoms are not meaningless pieces of paper. id like to watch that episode as no one here in canada wants to talk about it.

Gosh! I thought Canadians have always made better decisions than Americans. Clearly, Canada owes as much to FDR as the United States.
