I can just imagine, friends driving with the windows down and the wind in their hair. They're going cross-country. They've been best friends forever, and will be forever. This song is playing, and they're in the middle of the desert. Ahhh.... thats a dream

You know that part in Perks Of Being A Walflower where Charlie and Sam drive into the tunnel that leads into the city while standing up through the sun roof? The tunnel song. That's just the part of the movie where all their problems go away and they become free. This is the song I'd play.
whenever i hear this song i imagine a school morning being picked up by my partner and as we're driving we make the sudden decision to ditch school and escape to the city. we end up holding hands, visiting the museum, taking photos on old film, and getting lost in each others eyes while eating dinner. this song takes me to a different life.

A few months ago, I listened to Webster Hall live version with headphones in my room while my roommates were all sleeping. It was 3 a.m.. I never felt so empty but fulfilled at the same time. Something just punched me at my face, tearing my heart into pieces. I cried soundlessly and emotionally, trying to make my heart a whole. I did, and then I felt so peaceful, stronger than ever. Sometimes I struggle, feeling lost, I come back here to find myself, the one who always cries at this song but also feels something powerful from it. Roman Holiday is the reason why I love Halsey to death.

So many people in the comments are talking about how Halsey would get real famous and about how they knew her so long ago. But TBH where I live, absolutely NO ONE knows her. At first when I found Halsey, I only listened to Gasoline… Then I found Hurricane… And Colors. Then Colors pt II... Then I found Castle, Haunting, Control. God damn I always skipped this, I walk the line, and Coming down. Then I one day I found myself singing along to the chorus of them. Then I listened to the whole album. Then room 93. Then unreleased songs and omfg I am so happy I did that. I love Halsey 😭❤️❤️
I just wanna dance in a big, dark room with HALSEY's music playing as loud as possible, all alone. for that time I'm dancing so freely, I can let all my demons go and just enjoy the music. that would be perfect.
This song reminds me of before my dad went to rehab... when he was always drunk or high and having to leave the house and hideout away from him... all I wanted to do was escape reality, and this song took me there. I found refuge in music, my bf and his family, and my friends. They were my “Roman Holiday” away from my family. I’m forever grateful for them.
this song describes me so well, i have planned runaway with my best friend(and lover) in May 30, and omgggg i swear that i'll put this song while leaving the city
Sir I’ve been asking myself why the internet’s always so mad for ages. People will always find something to complain about :(( I hope you enjoy your new freedom!
0:12 to 0:25... the way she delivers that so smoothly but it like attacks you in waves and there's no room for oxygen because it knocks it out of you with each word. I seriously was in love with that tid-bit when I first heard this song..head over heels. I still am. I love the entire song though. Seems like a get-away song, or an escape from whatever is going on, or a break. Awesome :D

I know, it's not the content of these lyrics, but 11 years ago, I met my today's husband for the first time during a school trip to italy. We became best friends immediately and 2 years later we became a couple. We are still so glad to have each other.
this is my favorite song from the badlands album... and after watching the 1953 movie Roman Holiday, listening to this just became a lot more meaningful to me.. like i feel all kinds of emotion and it's trying to combust my insides.. i suck at explaining but yeah.. that's how it is
I remember stumbling across this album *RANDOMLY.* I listen to hip-hop, rap, etc. But this album when I heard it years back was just hittin *DIFFERENT.* Her other albums, idk but this album here was just simply amazing.
I just came back from her concert and HOLY SHIT!!!!! This is definitely my favorite Halsey song and when she performed this live... Wow, I had never felt so alive in my life

The summer when I turned 12 I used to listen to this song all the time. It was the first time my parents had allowed me to stay home alone and I just used to lie in bed with the sun peeking through the curtains with this song on repeat. Those days I was wishing to be older, to have more responsibility, to get school over and done with. Now I want to go back, to tell my younger self not to wish my life away, no matter how many maths lessons I have to do because life right now isn't worth the worry.

I don't know why...
But your music effects me.
I don't know why, but... whenever I want to read a story, I always get the urge to listen to your music.
Thank you for being in this world.
Sincerely, a new fan.

This song describes my teenage years perfectly.
2:16 it’s awesome!!
This brings back memories
This is my favorite song on Badlands!!
this song made me buy the whole album

I just wanna dance in a big, dark room with HALSEY's music playing as loud as possible, all alone. for that time I'm dancing so freely, I can let all my demons go and just enjoy the music. that would be perfect.
When I hear a song from Halsey I close my eyes and pretend that I'm driving alone at 2am or on a rooftop or something magical, idk anyone else?
God this song. So many emotions. So many memories. Gotta love it.
So I've just discovered Halsey and shE FUCKING SLAyS🤘🏻

Saaaammmmeeee!
yes she does,🔥🔥
Best track off this album. Sooo good.
Charlie's Drum Corner yes
I can't begin to describe my sadness that there's no official stripped version of this song. This is truly an underrated gem
ROMAN HOLIDAY, COLORS, and GHOST will always be superior. Its so raw.
This song is so underrated! Everyone’s so obsessed with Gasoline, Control, and Castle and they never listen to this! 💕 much love to Halsey
this song describes me so well, i have planned runaway with my best friend(and lover) in May 30, and omgggg i swear that i'll put this song while leaving the city
Goals😂..
I WANT TO RUNAWAY ONE DAY
I hope it goes well
+Isa Swift nice pic lol...Anyways good luck darling
HOWS IT GOING?
I HAVE SO MANY CHILLS RN
I normally don't like Halsey, but I feel like this is a pretty great song.

I been obsessed with this song for years I never get tired of this song

Just got outta prison. Love Halsey. New to the internet. Why's everyone on here so mad? Genuinely asking. I'm an old man that loves good music.
Sir I’ve been asking myself why the internet’s always so mad for ages. People will always find something to complain about :((
I hope you enjoy your new freedom!
@@mrigankaiyer2295 thank you my friend!
Is it just me who can think of two girls who love each other but their family's don't approve so they just run away together
Now that I think about it.. that could work
[insert cool name here] :D except she gets pregnant so it can't be a girl
Xaurelia X what ...
[insert cool name here] :D this songs about her miscarriage
i get that vibe
this is josh dun's favorite song by her. i cry every time.
Awesome :D
"Roman Holiday"
Do you remember the taste of my lips that night
I stole a bit of my mother's perfume
Cause I remember when my father put his fist through
The wall that separated the dining room
And I remember the fear in your eyes
The very first time we snuck into the city pool
Late December with my heart in my chest and the clouds of my breath
Didn't know where we were running to
But don't look back
We'll be looking for sunlight
Or the headlights
Till our wide eyes burn blind
We'll be lacing the same shoes
That we've worn through
To the bottom of the line
And we know that we're headstrong
And our heart's gone
And the timing's never right
But for now let's get away
On a Roman holiday
Could you imagine the taste of your lips
If we never tried to kiss on the drive to Queen's
Cause I imagine the weight of your ribs
If you lied between my hips in the backseat
I imagine the tears in your eyes
The very first night I'll sleep without you
And when it happens I'll be miles away
And a few months late
Didn't know where I was running to
But I won't look back
We'll be looking for sunlight
Or the headlights
Till our wide eyes burn blind
We'll be lacing the same shoes
That we've worn through
To the bottom of the line
And we know that we're headstrong
And our heart's gone
And the timing's never right
But for now let's get away
On a Roman holiday
Feet first, don't fall
We'll be running again
Keep close, stand tall
We'll be looking for sunlight
Or the headlights
Till our wide eyes burn blind
We'll be lacing the same shoes
That we've worn through
To the bottom of the line
And we know that we're headstrong
And our heart's gone
And the timing's never right

this is my top fav of halsey
Still listening in 2024. Still loyal to the queen
A timeless classic
whoops tumblr just turned into an album.
my queen forever x
I know, it's not the content of these lyrics, but 11 years ago, I met my today's husband for the first time during a school trip to italy. We became best friends immediately and 2 years later we became a couple. We are still so glad to have each other.
i just can't describe in words how perfect halsey lyrics are. they can tell so much, even with simple words. its fantastic.
this is my favorite song from the badlands album... and after watching the 1953 movie Roman Holiday, listening to this just became a lot more meaningful to me.. like i feel all kinds of emotion and it's trying to combust my insides.. i suck at explaining but yeah.. that's how it is
it's so strange how underrated this song is
Badlands debuted on No.2 on the Billboard Hot 200!!!!!
Wow, I had never felt so alive in my life
When I get my first car this is the first song I'm gonna play in it.
I feel like the music video for this would be cool, if it's the way I picture it. Just like imagine Ashley driving and going on late night city adventures and have it look like a vlog in the middle of the night. Idk man I want something like that
It's like I'm drowning in music it's so good.
Thank you Taylor Swift for being the reason I know this song. My favorite Halsey song at the moment

I came here because Josh said it was his favorite, now I love it too
halsey songs are like an adventure with your yourself throigh a city lost and trying to get back home but meeting new people and experimenting new stuff and then when you finally arive home you think aboit what you did and are in shock and then you do it all over again but in different perspectives each time
The summer when I turned 12 I used to listen to this song all the time.
Just had my first with this song in the background.... Thanks Hasley
Congrats
