- Storms continue to come through the area bringing cold temps with rain and wind. Mom took a break and the eaglets were left alone for a few minutes until Dad flies in. He grabs that old fish head and works hard picking it clean and giving a few bites to the kids. Remarkable how nothing goes to waste on an eagle nest! The weather starts to turn bad and he quickly covers them up and extends his wings out being a perfect Dad-Brella!! He broods them until Mom returns back to the nest. Thank you for watching!

I noticed at this young age at least 1 of the parents is nearby for situations like this. However when they are bigger they are left to weather the storm...life training I suppose.

Am I right in thinking this nest is in Washington,DC, I thought I read that at one time.
It's actually in Minnesota. MN DNR = Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
