That 3.8L pushrod motor in the van is a monster and super reliable. As soon as I saw the lineup I knew the van had it in the bag.
Yep theirs beasts had one with over 400k ram like a champ until rocker arm broke sounds like a rod knock bad but made it hour home only weak point is the trans and rear struts
@@Floreypottery rear shocks are like $15 each. Just change them every 30k for shits and giggles. And if you change the trans fluid and filter every 40-50K the trans will go to at LEAST 200K without issues. No one ever seems to be able to do that for some reason despite the repairs being some of the easiest of any vehicle. Hands down one of the best engineered vehicles made for the DIY mechanic.
I had 3 of those, they were such good cars. Peppy with those 3.8l
Those Gen 3 Town and Countries / Grand Caravans are bulletproof cars, my mom has an '03 GC SE and we've gone all across Canada with her, over a million kilometers racked up and still ready to travel some more

This is something I really wanted to do with my 1997 Cadillac Seville it had a 32v northstar v8 so it would’ve been perfect for a beater race

Never mess with a Caravan. Those things go and go and go. They are amazing on and off road including demo derbies!
Next time... start the game with time for modifications. Each team gets x-time and can use anything in the shop to custom their vehicle any way they think best. Then, race!

My dad had the 99 chevy malibu when I grew up. That car was the most quietest and comfortable car ever. I remember sleeping in the back of those comfortable seats. And I like the back of it. Kt almost looks 70's ish without the hubcaps. Only thing was that thing excellerated as slow as hell. I'm surprise it kept up with the van.
I remember when I was in New York, we had to make a u-turn, and he had the gas pedal all the way down, but the bus still caught up and passed us. That was how slow it was.
I never knew how mean my childhood car sounded disconnected from it's muffler...
Thats how the GM 60 degree V6s will sound. 3100, 3400, 3500, 3900. My 07 Impala has a 3900 and sounds like a V8 at idle once i straight piped it. Hurts a little inside seeing these relatives get beat up, but its all fun anyway i guess

Good entertainment guys. Good clean race. Watching Matt and Steve bounce around in the passenger seats was the best. Just like watching a couple of Mexican Jumping Beans bounce around in there. For anybody who doesn’t know what those are, you’re too young to know. Poor McDoogle was given a dud. She ripped for a little bit though. I’m not sure but I think the bumpers were the weak points on the cars from the debris trail on the track. Frank, you need to be involved when you stop in. Bassakwards Steve was good stuff at the end. All them suckers were dead. Steve’s still got the wipers on in the end😂
