Excellent Tutorial. I’ve been struggling plaiting a whip. This is the best instructional video yet. Thanks Missy. 👍
I love the looks but I wish one of these tutorials would tell you how long each rope/paracord needs to be for each foot of length.
Yeh I am gonna keep looking for a guide that has lengths, also using nice paracord
I think your tutorial is the best for 6 strand, thanks a lot.
You are an excellent teacher Grey.
Love it. I have always wanted to braid with more than 3 strands. I am going to try this out today.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

This IS COOOL!!! if I want to make a 15 foot long (6 strand braid), how long do each strands neeed to be?
Another great one! Thanks!
Easy to understand. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Fascinated!!!
Thanks a lot... U are a life saviour 🥺🤩
I like it! Very good this is what I am going to do thanks.
Love this pattern, thank you for sharing ❤️
Thanks so much for making this tutorial. It's the only thing I've seen that might give me the results I need(a rounded chain of yarn hopefully, instead of flat)to be able to try a project I've been wanting to do..I keep wondering though, would it just be overkill to try doing this w/my med.4 worsted weight yarn & then try to use the chains to hand/finger crochet something like a chunky blanket? I do realise how painstakingly long this has the potential to take, esp.for a beginner @ both this technique & crotchet, like myself, but I can't get any #7 jumbo yarn rn..
tfs. I love this knot!
Love your teaching style! :-) Just curious what size (mm) cord are you using in this video?
Great tutorial, so clear, thanks!! x
Excellent tutorial! Love all your videos! This 6 strands braid is so unique! Going to try it, thank you 🙏
Such a pretty braid. I imagine it can also work with eight cords or more. But, how can you tie - off your work at the end of your project, when the cord is a slippery nylon fusible cord, and it wants to come undone even after your last square knot ? Thank you for your time and advice.
This is beautiful and very easy to follow! Subscribed!
Thank you so much! 💛
Are there other techniques to finish the end of this braid?
Lovely
This braid is gorgeous. Can you use it at the top of a plant hanger? If so do you still tie it off before continuing the rest of your hanger? Thank you for sharing this braid 🌟!
Thanks 🙏
Okay I got it going but I messed up and had to back track and now I can't remember what strand goes where... help?
Hi, could you please show us, how to make the first knot (lark head) with six strands, thanks !
Hi! This knot is done exactly like a normal larks head knot, just with multiple strands held together. Let me know if your still unsure on how to do it and I’ll try to post a video on my instagram page 😊
Your tutorial left all other tutorials bah-hind 🙂
How much rope do I need if i’d do something of 1,5m ?😊
I'm using this for a camera wrist strap with 4mm leather braids for the six strands, it's perfect for this :)
Nice thank you
How long should my cords be ? I'm making a paci clip.
Sehr gut zu verstehen, danke.
I used this to make the tail for a mouse you for my cat!
What a great idea!! ☺️
Nice.Thank
thank you for sharing that with us, it will add variation and interest to designs. Question though, do you have to start out the rope the way you have it hanging or can the ropes be hanging side by side?
Yes, you should be able to do this braid with them hanging side by side. The start of the braid will most likely look a little different though until the ropes get gathered together the more you braid. But I suggest just playing around with it to see what you like 😊
She has her three chords tied using a larks head knot at the start. You can just tie six chords side-by-side to set them up at the beginning if you prefer. Alternatively, you can tie three individual larks head knots side-by-side. You can do some interesting things with different color strands.
Do you have a rule of thumb for finished length vs what you cut and start with? Example - I want to make 10' reins for my horse tack - what length does each strand need to be to account for the braiding? Thank you.
Assume you will lose one-quarter to one-third of the length in the twists.
Can I ask do you have a cow hitch tut?
Can you make a 6 strand flat braid like this also
With the six strand flat braid you don't pass behind and go over-under across all five strands, or you can pass over three and behind two.
Muito limdo!
What a great tutorial... I have a knife on which I want to tie a six strand lanyard. My predicament is that the hole in the end of my handle is too small to do anything but pass three flat strands of cord made by pulling the core out of three strands of paracord. I can only pull the three ends of cords through my knife handle, which gives me six strands to work with. Do I have to tie a knot in the cords prior to starting this braid or can I simply start it using the method you showed on this tutorial? Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing your reply.
I’ve never tried it before, but I do believe you should be able to just start tying the braid without any other starting knot.
Yes, you can just start braiding. However, you may wish to pass a metal ring through the hole and then braid on the metal ring to prevent it from cutting your strands if the hole is not well rounded.
Can you do this with 8 strand too?
Yes! 😊
@@GrayWonders Thank you!
You started out right into weaving. You did not show initial strand set up.
The ropes are attached to my dowel with a lark’s head knot.
Genial!!! 😘
Its insane how none woman knows which side is which.. theres got to be some deep science behind it
