Oh yeah, beaks can bleed a lot. One of my pigeons had a tiny accident, a tip of her beak broke off. It was barely touching the blood stream, but she kept shaking her head and rubbing her beak all over the cage, so it kept bleeding for over a day. Everything around the cage was covered in tiny blood spots, it actually surprised me that tiny thing had so much blood in it and could afford to lose it without much harm. But soon enough it healed and the beak grew back as well.
It is crazy! I have a pic of a quail - she reminded me of the Joker from Batman. I was relieved it was just her broken beak & not that she was attacking everyone, which was my first thought when I saw her! I do keep clotting powder & a clotting spray on hand, though I've never tried it on a beak. Applying pressure for a couple minutes usually does the trick or at least slows it down. ❤ Crystal
My quail beeling from its mouth two side corner lit bit . And it opening it's mouth , difficult in breathing . What to do please tell me 😢
