Good old Shaniko, stuck to Pendle like a ton of 💩 to a wool blanket. Isn't that how the Multnomah got sick at Sauvies... I don't recall. I think we were all Railroaded to a Degree...
I believe it was my dad's relatives who made the ghost town into what it is today. I'm not sure exactly of the details but they have a lot to do with the town.
I brought my kids to Shaniko a few summers and we are hamburgers in the hotel resturant and I met the mayor who afterwords I seen in Gresham at the Dairy queen and I was considering opening up a antique shop there but the following summer I went back the entire town was for sale except the modern gas station I was so disappointed because I loved that old place ! the barn has old trucks and cars and the overed area has wagons and so many old types of wagons but I haven't gone back but I seen a really old miming town near Baker city called Sumpter and they have a dredge and it's more worth the drive and has more history then a hotel Google Sumpter,Oregon.
What's more important is people being saved, not buildings. The scripture tells us that everything in this world is transitory. Here today and gone tomorrow. Nothing lasts. The 1rst Commandment tells us that God wants and expects a personal relationship with us all. Seeking to know God is the beginning of receiving God;s Salvation. There are two types of people in this world ... Saved and lost.
That's my grandma......I used to live there....so many memories
I used to live there in the early 80's
We will be there to visit very soon! Can’t wait to see what’s there!
I visited there today.. amazing!
I might want to visit there this 2019 maybe in summer.
Camp over a few days and bicycle ride in town when it is quite and enjoy the sights.

My whole family built that town by hand! 🤣
Well if someone would do a Cars & Coffee once a month. It would bring more to visit and maybe help open some businesses.
