These videos are why my husband keeps acusing me of watching indecent vids. "Oh shit, oh yeah" "ooooh". Imagine his disappointment when he sneaks up on me and sees fish. LMAO.
1:47 killer fogbow and damn what a battle you three had that day. 19:40 The legend himself, so great to see Philosophy D back in the mix!! Sending love from our fam down in the 805.
I have a couple Penn international wide reels and i can say for sure, that if you don't have a belt with the slot for the rod to prevent pivot, you spend all your energy turning the reel sideways instead of cranking the line in. You guys are beasts for doing it the hard way! Keep up the great vids, Taku!
Keep up the work Taku. It’s taken me 3 days due to surgery and being in the PACU and ICU but I watched for a much as I could and took a break when I couldn’t hold on and stay away longer but made it an effort to watch your uploads. I love your vids! Heck it inspired to to pick up some carbon steel Japanese knifes. Hope to one day fish with ya. My biggest fish from my neck of the woods is a 32lb king salmon. Hopefully I recover well in the next few months and can get out to do some ice fishing. Yours Dave.
opening the video with a big ole fish on the line and a rainbow looking over is incredible stuff, much love and thanks for the fun video as always Taku!!
I used to tourney land based shark fishing in florida. I highly recommend a good quality belt and harness (black magic) and using the low gear when you’re at a stalemate and struggling to gain line. The harness and belt you can use your entire body weight vs arm strength it’s much less tiring and cuts the fight time by A LOT since you can lean down and reel down on the fish
Sweet! Your back home in cali.. so how about some foraging videos in our home state. Love seeing the diversity of natural ingredients and the way you cook them. Uniquely different every time.
We found a product called Knot to kinky which is nickel titanium leader . 100lb works fine. It's high tech metal leader but BFT on the troll won't spook from it when pulling the mad macs at high speed. This will save you chew offs on the hit, rub offs on the boat or prop and other heart breakers. Other thing that will help is to use 7X Kaiju treble hooks on the mad macs. The leaders cost about 24 bucks a piece and the hooks cost about 19 a piece. Mad macs are 50 a piece so your actually protecting your lure investment with the upgrades.
One thing I've learned from fishing Salmon, when they run, let them run by loosening the drag, especially if they run under the boat or back towards the motor. Hand feed them line if you have to.
I know Captain Ross he's a man amongst men when I was looking at the video and noticed Captain Ross's boat I knew there was going to be a happy ending no pun intended LOL
Sorry about the big miss on the other tuna but something we used to do on the east coast is one not have the drag so tight that the fish couldn't run, when it runs it tires itself out. 2nd one thing for getting line back quickly is making circles on the fish but you always have to make your circle in the opposite way the fish is running. Large circles. I was explained that the fish is not 4 or 5 hundred yards straight down they are somewhere in the water column and your line is kind of like a big L shape in the water, ( using monofilament line; spectra has a lot less drag so it a little different but still the same concept). I heard some people refer to this as the tuna dance. I watch some guys get some really large fish in on 30lb line. Also use the low speed on the real if your trying to power the fish in. But still I wish I was out doing it again, I'm now land locked in Idaho and mainly hunt and fresh water fish. I troll still for Kokanee salmon but its nothing compared to tuna fishing. Something I haven't seen used on the west coast is spreader bars when trolling. We would use those with decent success also. Cool video and keep them coming. Love the tuna action. .
Congrats Gentlemen, & 🔥🔥🔥 episode Taku! What’s up “D”, been a hot minute since I’ve seen you, and also on Taku’s channel. Can’t wait for your video of the life changing events. 🍻 Y’all, you boys put in that WORK on this 1 👊🏼😎🤙🏼🍻
Oh, man , come on, Blue Fin! HELL NO 😳! Geez, next time you'll get it 🎉. Happy Thanksgiving, Taku ,Jocelyn and friends 🧡🦃. Whoo Hoo 🎉. You did it. Congratulations !!!💥🌟❣️ JO JO IN VT 💞
That is a Thresher shark so tasty, one of the best to eat, I have never seen fishing like that, we would pump up, then reel down and wear a belt, trying to reel without the pump seems really hard, which as you know it was.
Eeepic far out without a good fighting belt that looked like waaay too much hard work. I just used my legs and back landing mine was definitely easier than arms. Epic vid guys
Chris, once you hook up on the first fish don’t reel the second one, count to 5-6 seconds and see if you get a double hook up, if nothing happens then start reeling the second one. Just a bit of advice, but if you’re trying not to catch 2 at a time then keep doing a good job, reeling 2 Tunas will be a hell of a workout and challenge.
if he goes for the motor quickly like that ... go into freespool so you can maneuver without having to pull against the fish with a taught line... it doesnt mean you wont lose the fish but your chances would have greatly increased
For a second i thought this was the redemption trip with ChrisPfish and thought "omg the same thing happened again....." 😅😂 Then it cut to the actual redemption trip and i was like 😮 oh 😂.
These videos are why my husband keeps acusing me of watching indecent vids. "Oh shit, oh yeah" "ooooh". Imagine his disappointment when he sneaks up on me and sees fish. LMAO.
As a professional fishmonger (and a woman) this comment made me LOL. 🐟💕💕
Way to Skippers. Jocelyn is guiding the boat! NICE TOUCH. You are so cool.

Depends on your experience level I can work one perfectly fine without it pivoting
Depends if your a puss or not
You don’t need a belt if you use the rail
Ain't no Tuesday like Taku Tuesday cause Taku Tuesday's don't stop!

Good to see Daniel again. Tell him to drop that video and let us know what's going on.
Hell yeah!!!! Congrats bro!

Wow. Just wow. Thank you for sharing. Totally inspiring. Cheers!
Congratz on the catch Taku.
Philosophy D where you been hiding?!
I've been waiting for this video. Holy moly. Glad you finally got your Blue Fin Tuna, Taku!
Daniel is a BEAST!!! See bro! All that gym time pays off!
Chicks dig Daniel! LOL
1ST Tuna Lost hurt muy soul i felt for you BUT The Next Hook UP was EPICCC Taku!!!!
One thing I've learned from fishing Salmon, when they run, let them run by loosening the drag, especially if they run under the boat or back towards the motor. Hand feed them line if you have to.
I’m sure I held my breathe when you hooked that butterball…omg Taku..what an exciting video!!..Congrats🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That’s exciting! Struggle is real but it is so worth it. Ty so much for sharing it.
Epic! Good to see Daniel too!
You gotta keep well hydrated too!!!! It’s so important for those muscles to recover 🤙🏽🎣
Blue sharks are so beautiful!
🌴 I can’t wait to see you cut that tuna ! 👍🏼😄
Definitely a full tuna cook. The heart isn’t for me. Tuna steaks with sides sounds better.
I can't even imagine catching a fish that size. Freaking AMAZING! Awesome video's dude!
Living the frickin dream ‼️💪🏽
If you haven’t farmered a Bluefin, you haven’t been Bluefin fishing 💯
Hell yeah!! Nice Hog, Taku!
I know Captain Ross he's a man amongst men when I was looking at the video and noticed Captain Ross's boat I knew there was going to be a happy ending no pun intended LOL
Everything is so beautiful!
Love it ❤ your killing it Taku
Woof woof. Welcome to the east bay. Good job.
Watching you fish is great. Always following and supporting you .
Nerve racking, but so happy you got your Bluefin Tuna! 👏🏻
There's the video I was hoping for
That first tuna that they lost, seem to had been a monster compared to the other 2 that you caught brother, but great video , awesome catch dream

Nice fish, definitely invest in a good belt or harness setup to fight stand up it’s a game changer and you won’t hurt yourself fighting the fish
Congrats Gentlemen, & 🔥🔥🔥 episode Taku!

That fish started playing the banjo haha 😂
Haven't seen pdee in a while. Nice one.
Nothing like bringing in a big Tuna. Caught a 120lbs yellowfin in Venice Louisiana. Your hand and back hurts reeling it in.
Would love to see your take on a crab gumbo or a crab linguini pasta! They’re so good and I’m sure you’d knock it out of the park
Great Episode !
Oh, man , come on, Blue Fin!
HELL NO 😳!
Geez, next time you'll get it 🎉.
Happy Thanksgiving, Taku ,Jocelyn and friends 🧡🦃.
Whoo Hoo 🎉.
You did it. Congratulations !!!💥🌟❣️
JO JO IN VT 💞
I would love to go fishing with the first captain
Nice work! Congrats!
Seeing the big one swim away is always a bummer. Nice job getting redemption!!
That last trip in the video was nothing short of professional
Taku,I see you got your workout in (two sharks, one bluefin). 😁👍
We hooked 200lbs plus on poppers , no rod holders and 10ft rods, no harness bs . Never handed off our rods. You hook it you fight it even if you puke.
Congratulations Taku! What's up philosophy D? Rod? Reel? Lure? I'm out of Sacramento and getting ready to go tuna fishing in the bay!.
And….how many times has Jocelyn come in “clutch”. I ♥️her.
nice way to start my wednesday wake up and see this in my sub box keep up the great work love your content .
Taku you landed my bucket list fish congratulations sucks you missed out on that big one
Yay!!! Go Mr. Taku!!! 😍🖤🥰🍻🍺🍣🍣🍣
Awesome video once again I like to try heart that way.
The fact you reeled it in on a Penn Squall should be enough for Penn to sponsor this video
Pro Tip: Should be running 400# leader at least on trolled lures for Cow grade.
That is a Thresher shark so tasty, one of the best to eat, I have never seen fishing like that, we would pump up, then reel down and wear a belt, trying to reel without the pump seems really hard, which as you know it was.
Nice fish bud! Redemption.
Awesome video! Brings me back to when I lost my first and only tuna at the boat years ago
I had to pause the video right when you lost the Tuna and take in that pain. What a damn video. Thanks for the entertainment, Taku!
I see what ya did there... Called in the big guns aka philosophy d 💪
Taku, do you know what dumbbells are? Lol you need that extra strength!!!
congrats!
wow 😮 big fish from the Bay Area
Every time I see you guys hook up on a BFT I don't see you guys push the easy button.
congrats on 700k!
Philosophy D.......been awhile.......miss youe vids
Congrats on the butterballs, nice fish! Out at Gumdrops?
Nice to see you finally got a tuna. 👍😁
Eeepic far out without a good fighting belt that looked like waaay too much hard work. I just used my legs and back landing mine was definitely easier than arms. Epic vid guys
That was epic!
PS you know the diff of a tuna strike and a shark strike, the tuna takes off and the line looks like a water skier
Is that a Corpus Christi Hooks baseball hat that your wearing Chris. Live in Texas and that's double A team for the Astros hat!
You got 2 beautiful bluefins and you prepare the heart ? Okay.
😂😂😂😂 they couldn’t handle one fish by themselves wtf would they want two at the same time!!! 😂😂😂
Have you ever reach into the jar
And
Grab a handful of cookies
And
Could not get your hand out of the jar?
Free spool 2nd rod to keep it in the zone for a few seconds
@@SalvoSix why?? They struggled with one fish. No way they would land 2
I agree , there’s no way these guys could handle a double. He Needs a lot of work
if he goes for the motor quickly like that ... go into freespool so you can maneuver without having to pull against the fish with a taught line... it doesnt mean you wont lose the fish but your chances would have greatly increased
“I lost a huge fish there” .. you hooked and lost that fish I thought ?? Anyway nice one that you landed !!!
Another video to start my day!
For a second i thought this was the redemption trip with ChrisPfish and thought "omg the same thing happened again....." 😅😂 Then it cut to the actual redemption trip and i was like 😮 oh 😂.
We!!!🎉🎉🎉On!!!!🤠👌💯🤙🤙🤙🥳Nice 😊
Hey Taku.. what would be your top 3 'not your everyday' sashimi?
So other than your regular salmon, tuna etc. Cheers!
Matt
Taku! You lucky dog!
Nice BFT. Best eating fish in the ocean
Did you guys ever put it in low gear?
Was that a two speed reel? Two speed is a must
How do you split up the catch?
How many times has Jocelyn been thrust into the role of “Captain”? 😂
Yea Boy
Keep up your good health and don't forget that I asked for the fish🤭
U definitely need a high spear connect the lines. Would have spear the fish tuna and got em on board.
Awesome video 👍👍
Why wouldn't you use a gimble belt when fishing that big? I have no idea just scull dragging it the entire way
