- Get Ed is the package delivery service of the future... with some twists, some turns and a whole lot of early 2000's 3D animation, ya gotta love it! Today we are going to take a look at Get Ed and how this one season show built an interesting world but didn't stay around long enough to fully explore it. Let's see how Get Ed came to be, what happened to it and more!

Thanks so much for watching! Would you take a package delivery job if it meant you get to ride a hoverboard?
hell yeah
Ofc
Thanks for Covering this, this show is easily forgotten and it's weird that Disney TVA's 1st 3d Series went under the radar when their Film Division started pushing for 3D films. Let's hope it get's on Disney + some day.
We need more international cartoons to be talked about.
Especially more obscure ones.
Sorry I mean try a show cell tower prep a show it was a show that aird when cartoon network was a is live action faves get have it a try
My god this feels like a fever dream, which no one actually remembered. Never clicked on an episode of yours so fast :')
RIGHT I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHP REMEMBERED THIS
I was gonna say the same thing.
exactly my experience!
I worked on the show! Had so much fun! We had a 2nd season all mapped out and ready to go, but Disney decided to not pick up the series. Thanks for posting and remembering the series!
This breaks my heart considering I was in love with this cartoon... and Ed 😂
@@welicatiga Season 2 was also going to focus on the Dojo Crew finding and bringing Old School back fyi and become bit of a space and dimensional adventure as well.
@@timeismonkeystudio could you tell us more about the plot of second season? I just remembered that I really loved this when I had 10 years
@@tahucu Thanks for asking! So glad you remember the show! For season two, Ed and his Crew were going to rebuild the Dojo and pick up the pieces after the "death" of Old School. Through the "static" of the universe, that Ed is attune to, he was going to get memories or communications from somewhere, not on Earth. The crew would follow these messages and discover that Old School was still alive and they would work to bring him home again. But they would also be confronting Bedlam and an outside Alien intelligence -- the ones responsible for Ed's existence and abilities. Through the season arc the show was going to become more of an off-world adventure with the delivery aspect of the show taking a backseat to the main story of the crew searching for Old School. Of course the season would end with them bringing Old School back and defeating (but not forever) Bedlam. And that's pretty much what we had planned.
@@timeismonkeystudio What an amazing season 2 XD thanks for answering, This world would work better withouth the delivery part, maybe just a race world or some kind of treasure hunt, I mean aliens, robots, super powers, fake deaths, that is a lot for a DHL courier boy, maybe just a tradicional racer would have been better.
Man, I miss Jetix; Get Ed, SRMTHFG, Disney Era Power Rangers, and a few other shows from my childhood.
Don't forget Yin Yang Yo!, Kid vs. Kat and Jimmy Two Shoes.
I know that the latter two aired on Disney XD, but international places still had them aired on Jetix.
+ Digimon lots of Digimon and in the UK PXG a videogame review show.
Hey don't forget Oban Star Racers
Monster buster club being another one
You mean S.uper R.obot M.onkey T.eam H.yper F.orce G.o ? That is one of the longest Names for a Show.
I need more Jetix content 😭 these shows were my childhood
Mine, too!
Thanks for Covering this, this show is easily forgotten and it's weird that Disney TVA's 1st 3d Series went under the radar when their Film Division started pushing for 3D films. Let's hope it get's on Disney + some day.
I hope it gets on D+ cuz I wanna see it. I've never even heard of it, but it certainly intrigues me.
@@wylanvallotton4462 On top of that we might get episodes in a higher quality.
This show was so good and really weird at the same time. Thank you for covering. The cliffhanger ending always made me mad as a kid.
The only thing I remember about this show is that the characters transform, but they were never really able to do much when dealing with the deliveries
SO many properties are getting the reboot treatment in one way or another, but most of them don't really need a reboot/remake.
But you know one show that does need that treatment that still hasn't gotten it? Get Ed. I hope someone gets on that someday, I'd watch it!
I worked for UPS for 2 years, this is an accurate representation for sure.
I remember this show. I wished there had been a season 2 where they found Old School again.
That was the plan for season 2, bringing Ol’ Skool back.
Sadly, the creator of the show died in April 2008. So there is no chance of that ever happening.,
@@okjeffy6581 Yes, Andy passed away suddenly, but Disney owns the rights to "Get Ed" and could always bring it back or reboot if they like. And if they were to do so, I doubt they would pick up where the original series left off, it would be a completely new show. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
This is the first thing I've seen about Get Ed in at least... Six years probably. And that was just me when I remembered the show existing myself and check all over whatever site I could think of to binge it. It feels like this is slowly eroding into lost media and I really hope there's enough people out there who want to keep this show alive.
I loved this show and the intro was so good! btw there's a pilot, it looks a little bit different from the series but it also can give some lore about Ed and Bedlam! it also seems that some of the animation movements from that pilot are reused in the series. It's a shame that it ended in a cliffhanger but it's understadable and also respectable why the team behind it didn't want to continue without the director. I still remember having to wake up at like 7 am to watch the series because the timeslot changed a lot. Thank you for covering this series !
Wait... Remember Purple And Brown?
*From the creators of Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit.*
Thank you so much for covering Get Ed! (I had lost all hope that people would remember it) This video just became my favourite ever in the story of YT, you perfectly captured what I think about the show, I never managed to put it into words.
This show has become my hyperfixation since the first time I saw it, I can still clearly remember the very first scene I ever come across on Jetix (it was episode 22 "Locked", when Ed and Dirk get stuck in the stadium and Torch teaches them how to play basketball against the Bedlambots).
To be fair, I have no idea WHY I like it so much. Even more now as a 24 years old, it had so many plot holes and weird animation glitches, but it stuck with me for all this time.
I think it's because of it that I decided to become a 3D animator. And maybe there will never be an official reboot, but I'll never stop trying to make my own reboot.
I have rewatched the series so many times now, I know the script word for word, and in 2020 I re-wrote most of it to try and fix what bothered me with the original series. It's around 800 pages now and that's less than half of it, I think? And not even counting the amount of character concept art.
It's a project that will probably never see the light of day, but it's the closest thing I have to a reboot. I really don't know why it is so important to me, but it did left a mark, and I wish I could tell Andy Knight.
Who knows, maybe we'll convince Disney to remake it some day? One can always dream :')
The futuristic teens on cool automobiles trope was used so well by jetix. This show, oban star racers and ATOM were all personal faves of mine. The animation sorta reminds me of the Discovery Kids show "The Future is Wild"
Oh yeah, I loved ATOM. Actually that should be a video too
yesss I'm so happy you talked about this show, honestly the concept could make a good game too, kinda sad it was so short lived
The quote “Whoa! Who turned on the dark?” from this show still lives in my head rent-free.
I quote it randomly myself. But I forgot where it came from until this comment.
I remember this show and I loved it. I'm glad you pointed out the theme song because it is a banger and I didn't know it was nominated, that's super cool. Also, I vaguely recall one of the last episodes I saw before...blankness. Bedlam somehow got Ed's DNA and rewrote his own DNA to become a red, evil version of Ed. I thought that was so cool as you wouldn't expect that near the beginning of the show's lifespan, it was something new and genuinely interesting. Sadly I don't remember much after that. Think he and Ed's gang clashed once or so but don't remember it well.
It's a show that I saw on TV multiple times as a kid. Mind you, I was still in that dumb kid phase of "Haha, things go BRRRR..." so I didn't really process the serialized nature of the show. Which is why when the finale aired and I saw it, I was confused since it felt like a continuation of a series, but it was canceled. I really do wish this show had some sort of follow-up of any kind, but I understand that with the passing of Knight, it's difficult.
Thank you so much for this episode. I always forget the name of this show...
My brain just calls it that 3d Jetix show with the bad guy who wears sunglasses at night.
It’s so sad that this show flew so low under the radar that until this video most who actually watch the show probably didn’t remember it.
It was like one of those it’s a not secret secret restaurants. Wear the only people who know about it are the people who know about it, yet it’s so good you can’t believe you’ve never herd of it before. Except as a cartoon.
This show was amazing and could do well with a sequel.
Agreed, sometimes your friends can be more of a family than your family.
I remember this show, but even I didn’t know that it was one season. Talk about your tragic loss of a great animated CGI series.
Hey Jordan, this absolutely catapulted me way back in time to nostalgia town. Is there any chance you could take a look at Dragon Booster? I swear NOBODY remembers that show but it was soooo fun
That was the one with the racing dragons and they had power chips or something right? I wanna say the lead's dragon was like blue and yellow.
Bruh I was about to type "do dragon booster next" I remember that show. It was good but i remember the big reveal at the end was so obvious even to me as dumb lil kid
I love dragon booster, even still have some of the trading cards they made for the series, if it was a Jetix show I remember it, the show I always use to trip my friends up is Shinzo, that's an obscure one.
@@synkro234 dude. I remember shinzo
@@Nalyd.3 awesome so it isn't as forgotten, it was a really interesting show for sure
I can never forget Get Ed, I had such, such a massive crush on Ed for no reason, to the point I couldnt think about anything else for for weeks after it ended
I remember trying to find out what this show was about as an adult, I didn't recall it's name at the time and was searching for progress city all over the internet to no avail (it being dubbed to my language didn't help either). Thank you for reminding me of it.
I was really hoping to see this one out of you. This was probably my favorite Jetix show
The most I remembered about this show was the DNA Delivery clones, and I fell in love with their concept
Hey Jordan. This one is definitely pushing the barriers for nostalgia, but I'd love a video on Caitlin's Way. One of the few original drama shows from Nickelodeon, and imo one of Nickelodeon's most underrated productions ever. I never hear anyone talking about it, which is a shame for how good it is.
Man Jetix had it all
I REMEMBER LOVING THIS SHOW SOOO MUCH AS A KID DESPITE NOT REMEMBERING ALL OF IT.
It was just that feeeeling of a futuristic a adventure that really stuck with me over all this time. I always remembered the show, but I couldn't pin point the title, so thank you for bringing it out~
This show was so amazing! I loved the story so much and the characters. The art style and animation were good for its time as well. You can tell they put a lot of effort into it and the voice actors and actresses had fun and put feeling into their characters.
This show was the definition of Jetix.
It's Disney. But cranked up to 11. Rest in Piece Andy Knight.
This show has a special place in my heart during my teen years along with others on Jetix. It's unfortunate that it was short lived with over 26 episodes and as well the death of its creator. I remember being emotional after watching the final episode, but somewhat satisfied.
Even though the creator, Andy Knight, passed away a long time ago. I do wish somebody could take on the mantle to continue it with a second season.
However, it's unlikely it will ever happen.
This show has been burning in the back of my head for years
This show is right there with Storm Hawks as one of those shows I only half remember seeing before I went to bed as a kid and knowing I loved it dearly.
I'm glad to see people are acknowledging it existed now.
I forgot about Storm Hawks! Memories...
this show is one of the most forgotten thing, but it encapsulated what Jetix was. the most unique original creation of the whole thing.
yet, even in this age of revivals, it's forgotten and abbandoned
Spyker gets no respect. the guy starts as the brute enforcer, evolve both in weaponry abilities and charatherization in the serie, remaining aconsistent treath throught the serie, but didn't even feature in the final episode. no respect I tell ya. the DNAs are sopposed to be dime-a-dozen mook, and the robots come and goes with the episode plot, but he's the star of multiple episodes, and he wasn't even pointed out here!
no respect...
Honestly all I remember about this show was the Jetix announcer voice going and up next is Get Ed where it had like some techno effect over get ed, but sounds interesting! Imma have to try and find it
Wait there wasn't a season 2? I remember there being an episode where Bedlam turned himself into an Ed clone. Soul patch and all
I was thinking that too! I remember Bedlam even using the force to steal Ed's laser whip straight from his hand.
@@oisinowens7786 Yeah exactly. I'm not completely crazy.
I'm really glad that this video was made cause everytime I tried to remember it or talk to someone about it no one could remember it. But with this timeline of shows that you've reviewed recently I feel like a man of class such as yourself, I wanna know if you remember the Pacman cartoon that came out in 2013 or the show Grossology ?
That opening theme was hype as hell.
I’m extremely upset that I turned away from Jetix growing up and I missed so many amazing shows. Get Ed is completely up my alley since Code Lyoko is one of my favorite shows. The premise is completely unique and It probably would have been one my favorite underrated gems. I avoided Jetix do to a mixed of personal appeal and a strange parenting rule that cause me to change the channel. A lot of the action oriented shows like Pucca, Yin Yang Yo, Get Ed, and SRMTHFG were extremely stylize and not that appealing to me. It didn’t help that very few of my friends, relatives, or classmates rarely watched Jetix block.
The few chances I did got to watched Jetix was when Digimon was airing or when my nanny’s grandson visiting. However, do to my parents strange rule. The grandson was allowed to watch a show I couldn’t watch and I had to go other room or do a different activity. Growing up, my parents were weird with me when it came children tv shows. They placed a random rule on me which blocked me from watching any episodes of PowerRangers or Gargoyles due to “gun violence.”
They allow me to watched a few episodes of Dino Thunder due to my dinosaur obsession. Gargoyles was because I was like three or four years old and recap of the previous episode showed the main Gargoyle getting shot by tranquilizer dart and there was a little blood during that scene. Meanwhile, they were perfectly fine with me watching Code Lyoko, Ben10, Teen Titans, Batman, Justice League, Static Shock, Powerpuff Girls, Totally Spies, Samurai Jack, Star Wars, and many others. What made this rule extremely fucked up, both Static Shock and Gargoyles literally had the same exact positive message about gun safety as an episode premise.
Code Lyoko was WEIRD
I was thinking about Jordan's reference to making a video about Get Ed on my way home from work, what a pleasant surprise to find this in my YT feed.
Always a good day when Jordan upload
Respect the Pinch. _Dr. Pinch!_
God I missed this show so much, I never expected a video about it 😭
I loved it so much, and was very sad to hear Andy Knight passed away. The ending of Season 1 left me with this inexplicable void knowing that it was just the next step in a whole new arc and that it'll never come to pass.
I might be riding too high on nostalgia probably, but I really think it could be a much grander story like The Dragon Prince.
This was one of the first shows I remember watching and it's such a shame they never got another season :(
I’ve been trying to find this show for like 16 years now, thank you so much!
Dude, I must've only seen this show only once or twice in passing because all I'm getting are vague flashbacks to an episode where I think the guy in green ticked his friends off by goofing around and then he got mad at them for being mad at him, so he ditched them to join that evil clown gang. I literally can't remember anything else about it.
I FINALLY FOUND IT!!!! I really thought I imagined this cartoon and I’ve been looking for it and asking people online about it but nobody knows it.
And yeah I was looking for it for YEARS!! I couldn’t remember the name nor the plot but only remembered the characters
Suggestion: alpha teens on machines. The name occasionally pops into my head and I want to hear it discussed. Also, Aaron Stone
Yes! The forgotten first Disney XD show. I loved it! Although it is nice to have the Skyrunners movie on Disney+. Maybe we'll get the rest soon.
@@BadaBing511 oh hell skyrunners that movie that I’m almost positive was gonna be a show but got cancelled. Completely forgot until you said the word
RIP Andy Knight This Disney Classic Should Be on Disney + so darn good
I love your videos so much Jordan Fringe keep up the good work man
as soon as i saw that catfish puppet, all the memories came rushing back.
Great video Jordan. Keep up the great work. Love your videos and personality.
I watched so many episodes of this and still somehow forgot this existed until this video.
I gotta say tho, Dojo is up there in being one of the best animated mentor around.
I forgot the show Even existed until I saw your thumbnail And then it came all back to me that I used to love this show
Loved this as a kid, especially with the Rex episode
No one talks about this show, Dragon Booster, NASCAR Racers, or Hot Wheels Highway 35 World Racer and Acceleracers. I am so glad you decided to cover this show.
Yup still remember watching this show when I was still in primary school.
been trying to find this show for years, it instilled a love for sci fi-looking bikes and other smaller vehicles in me. Also my love for stickers
This one definitely is one of those shows everyone forgot
Alright... We're in the Jetix CGI territory so I can finally bring it up. I've watched at least every single on of these since you've started lol.
Remember.. Storm hawks?
I remember watching Storm Hawks and loving it. Was so sad when it seemed like it just stopped airing.
I literally did not know this show existed until I did research on the Disney TVA shows. At least Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go and Yin Yang Yo, I hear people mentioning them occasionally. This show is literally the mere definition of: "It feel from the face of the earth."
I've remember that I've watched Get Ed, Great Show, I liked it so much I decided that one day I'll become a computer animator and Get Ed would be one of the shows I get to reboot.
This is some nostalgia I wasn't counting on experiencing at any point in my life holy mother of god
So growing up I had a crush on Ed and wouldn’t care for any episode that didn’t focus on him. I was also like 7? But it’s crazy that I thought there were more episodes. I would watch this late at night in the summer time
I don’t remember watching a single episode but I remember the intro going stupid hard.
I’m at a complete loss of words.. I’ve been trying to remember this show for more than 8 years, with only like 3 flashes of memories to go on. The amount of completely useless google searches I’ve done trying to remember, not even really knowing what exactly I was trying to find and if it was worth the effort. Until I found this video. Finally my search is over, and I don’t yet know how I feel about it tbh
"Thanks for choosing D.N.A" with those creepy voices still pops in my mind from time to time.
I watched this as a kid and ended up creating a sorta sequel in my head that over time ended up being my general "scifi neat ideas go here" open world. The tech/design of Ed was something aliens sent for establishing contact with other worlds. The original craft sent was meant to make a human "diplomat" that would be tied to the ships tech. Humans however shot it down thinking it was a weapon, scattering the pieces. Some people found them and learned some surface info that created massive leaps in human tech, but their core functionality was a mystery. These artifacts would be bought/sold among various corporations, collectors, etc over the years as they exhaust what can be learned from them without a conduit like Ed.
Since Ed was made without most of the tech required each time he interacts with one it expands which of his abilities to closer to what he should have been at in the first place. Season two would be them grinding up the ranks to get involved in deliveries that may more likely be related to Ed, and each time they do this either Ed trades the actual item for some data he now has access to or sometimes the person just wanted to see how it fit in the grand scheme of things, some the crew straight up gotta plan a heist.
I don't remember ever watching this- but certain things stand out as memories for me like the puppet and the delivery guy in the green suit. I specifically remember the scene where he had two heads
BRO I LOVED THIS SHOW OMG YOU UNLOCKED A MEMORY I FORGOT
I loved the show and wished it got a second season.
I've brought this show up so many times and no one ever knew it. Thank you
This was only one season?! I swear as a kid this was the biggest show on Jetix
I was literally thinking about this show five months ago but had no way how I'd even start googling it, lol
Remember get Ed? I can't even forget about get ed, that stinking intro song has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. It won't leave.
That GetEd game was amazing
HOLY MOLEY THE NOSTALGA BOMB'S GOT ME GUUUUUUD! XD
I never thought that anyone would ever give this show any semblance of attention at all. I used to be in love with Get Ed as a kid. Bedlam in particular was a super intimidating villain and one of my favorites as a kid. I also used to play the flash game for this show all the time as a kid. It was my favorite Disney flash game next to the Lilo and Stich one with Reuben. Does anyone else remember those flash games asides from me?
I wish I got to play the Get Ed game. I loved the L&S Sandwich building one. Otherwise I was playing CN basketball or or the teen titans villian game.
It was a good show probably underrated by today’s standards but back in the day it was a good show
@@user-qb7yb7vp8q Remember all the live action Cartoon Network shows like tower prep and dude what would happen just to name a few
@@user-qb7yb7vp8q Cool but what about everybody else do you think they remember
@@eerieeric834 Yes! No one talks about Tower Prep, only Unnatural History, and Level Up. It was intense but awesome. My family and I rarely agree on shows - yet all of us loved this show. I guess because it didn't feel like a traditional superhero show.
Wish we had some type of closure on them leaving that school.
I am so glad to see so many familiar comments. @Jordan Fringe, I love your "remember series" but this show has existed in the farthest parts of my mind, followed closely by the "JETIX" logo and sound. Anyway, It's sad to think this show that in my childhood raised so much appreciations for animation, action, and later to an extent racing, that it ended because the cretor died. RIP and thanks for this gem.
Yes, I loved Get Ed growing up, and it's such a shame that due to the creator dying we'll likely never get a follow-up to the cliffhanger ending.
Holy shit my brain just shat itself when I saw the thumbnail. I haven't thought of this show in over a decade!!! It's like a part of my brain has activated and the neurons are cowering in fear from the light after having been in the dark for so long.
I vaguely remember the finale, the villain turned himself into an evil red clone of Ed and he and Old School disappeared to who knows where.
With every upload you unlock a new part of my childhood I thought long forgotten. Love it
I remember a episode where the dumb guy almost fell into the lower city. And I remember him telling ED that if he had fallen down he would have never been seen again I always wanted to know what did he mean. And would we ever learn more…..
This show lives rent free in my head
dudeeeeee i remember that flash game, i played it all the time back in the day, never could beat the sub boss before the final boss xD, great video. i hope someday you talk about "growing up creepie!" that one was a pretty interesting show
This was honestly one of my favorite Jetix shows
I saw this show and thought it was just a dream I had when I was a kid to be honest.
Please do more Jetix shows!!!!!! I literally forgot about how much I watched this show….
I WAS ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS SHOW! I ALWAYS FORGOT ABOUT THE NAME OF THIS!!!
I was hoping you'd do this show eventually!
Anyone who's ever played Shadowrun knows how dangerous the Wildcard can be....
I really enjoyed this show when it came out and was the type to catch every new episode as they came out.
This show reminds me of Freefonix. Both are 3D animated and have a futuristic aesthetic. It also only had one season. In Freefonix, the main characters battle using musical powers.
This is probably the first time I have no idea what show you’re talking about. Never knew this show existed ,,,
