This is great info! Not a lot of people talk about the importance of valve maintenance. Nothing like letting one go until it's too late and then your pool filter is unusable.
Sometimes the valve is leaking from the turn mechanism itself. If it’s not the kind that can rebuilt there’s no option other than replace it. Do yourself a HUGE favor and replace plumbed in valves with double union valves as they need replacement. And pay a little more for ones with serviceable turn mechanisms
You could do a similar session on maintaining Pentaire/Jandy valves. Also check valves. The little o-rings around the valve shafts are responsible for hard-to-determine suction side leaks. Tiny debris on check valve seats and flappers are a main cause of leaks, like connected spas draining down into a lower pool. Ask me how I know. 😎
I have a space saver Jandy 3 port valve that is leaking where a coupler attaches to it. I already tried to replace the o-rings inside the Jandy diverter valve. Maybe the pvc cement didn’t hold up since it’s a 14 yr old pool. How do I fix this leak from the CPVC coupler/Jandy valve?!? Thanks!!!

I like the double union valves but the ones in video are serviceable. Use them everyday

I try to re silicone my gaskets at the start and end of the season. So far so good

I do not have space (why the space saver Jandy valve was used) and this is the 3 way diverter for my main drain/skimmer.
Mine has a small leak. But it’s where the pipe itself enters the union’s shoulder.
I was literally doing just that fix on a Turbo Cell union as I watch this video. No black fingers.
The you are good to go!
Why don’t you show us how it is done vs talking about how it’s done. I unsubscribed. All talk, no content.
