I am so excited for you. Not only are you able to have a solution for your health issues but you have a vintage Singer! Your repair man is going to be so thrilled to see your new machine. I was lucky this winter and got a 1946 Singer 201 and it was crusty and clearly had been in a shed or an old storage building for decades. When I took it to Steve (who also waxes poetic about vintage machines) and he unwrapped it, it was like being with a kid on Christmas day who got their favorite present. I am a new sewer and just finished my 5th quilt top and second complete quilt, all made on my Singer. Take care and enjoy. Looking forward to seeing what you make. Cheers from Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes (!) and hopefully the next VP of the US, Governor Tim Walz. And yes he is a down to earth as he appears. All the best to you Eleanor.
I love your program so much. I need to catch up and watch more of you. I found you a while ago. I’m a beginning crochet and a beginning quilter but it’s now been over a year and I finished one blanket, making another finished one quilt getting ready to hand quilt and make another. I find your program inspiring and I think you are a deep and, thoughtful person which is very special. Glad to see you back. I need to watch all the others that you have posted.❤
Congratulations on your 201. I have a black one in an art deco cabinet. It is the machine I use the most even though I have 16 vintage machines. One man on youtube described the 201 as the Cadillac of Singer machines.
These are amazing machines. I have my granny’s 1937 201K that I learnt to sew on and it still sews beautifully. There’s a reason this model was called the Rolls Royce of sewing machines. I hope you quickly become best friends. I hope you get your procedure soon and are able to get back to sewing with a machine.
Hi! I could really use some help with a vintage sewing machine 😅. I recently got a Anker automatic rz deluxe and i don't know how to make it work. Btw I don't have the cable for it. I don't know how to take care for it exactly, like what oil to use and so on. After a few days of trying, i got the thread in the right place, but the problem now is that the weel doesn't make the rest of the machine work. Could you please help me? 😅❤
Did you ever finish the medallion quilt I would love to see pictures I've looked all over your site and I can't seem to find it. Hope your help problems get better I've had many myself. Thank you And thank you for that beautiful medallion quilt you started I just wondered if you had finished it thank you.
Oh my god that’s almost what I got. I have a 401 A singer and it came in a beautiful case like that, but my unboxing was insane. I could not get it done. I had to ask some neighbors to come help me to cut it open and the guy had packed it with carpet and paper bags and it was insane. It took like three days to get it out.
Mum has this machine and not only sewed clothes but repaired thick canvas annexes for our caravan park residents 😂❤😂 Poop! I got talked into trading it in 😢😢
That model is not really suitable for thick leather, you will wreck it. Yours is an aluminium one. The black cast iron models are stronger. It is a great machine though.
🤤 I'm quite jealous of this ❤

Looking forward to the next one……so exciting to unbox a new sewing machine even though it’s old it’s a good one. Hope you soon feel well.

Oh Wow! I wonder if 'The Lovely Stan'TM would be up for you filming him talking about the machine? Can't wait to see what you do with it! 🤩

Such a beautiful sewing machine!😍
I have heard the 201 models are work horses, you will love it. I hope all goes well for you and that we will see you soon.
All the old singers especially the ones from the 50s were major workhorses the 301 series in 401 series as well!!❤
Always enjoy your videos. Thank you. I’m guessing you might take your machines to Swansea to be serviced. Am I right? lol! X
That model is capable of stitching through leather, have seen examples, you won’t break it if you are not continually doing leather work😊
