    I'm doing my BDS internship in India. I wish to join the training course for AFK. Should I register into NDEB online profile now only or I should register after I receive my internship program certificate? Because I heard that NDEB takes a period of 4-5 months to accept our registration.

    I'm in BDS third year and I would like to apply for a masters program eventually in Canada, in one of the comments I read about you mentioning a bridge course of 2 years. Would you recommend that or is it better to work hard to qualify the exam because I heard the process is tedious and a very small percentage of people get through. It's like if there is a bridge course, instead of preparing for year and taking a chance in the exam, this would rather be a better option? Obviously I am sure the bridge course itself would be really expensive.

      Hi Dr. Zubair,
      The university route is one that is very challenging to get accepted into when it comes to Canadian universities. This is due to a multitude of factors including an extremely high rate of competition because of the small number of available programs. Your university GPA along with extracurricular activities need to be very strong and you need to score 90% or above on the AFK exam. Additionally, you need to pass the university's bench test or interview process. All together, this process can cost upwards of CAD $200,000.
      The best way to approach the university route is to get accepted into the dental equivalency process and try your best to get as high of a result as possible on your AFK exam and then assess your options.
      We also have training courses for university acceptance and trainees who have taken these courses with us have a very high acceptance rate.
      I hope this helps give you a bit of clarity on your situation Dr. Zubair and if you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at any time on our Facebook page or at feedback@prepdoctors.ca.

      Hello Dr. Feras, If you chose to go for a masters program in Canada, you first need to complete your Canadian equivalent of graduation program. This means that after AFK, you need to get into a university program of 2 years which will help you graduate with the Canadian BDS. After this, you will be eligible to apply for a masters program.

    So after AFK, if I go to uni, do I need to qualify any other exam after dental school in order to get dental license ? Also like US, do Canadian dental schools have bench test or any other practical or any other test after AFK and before dental school admission

    • @PrepDoctors
      @PrepDoctors  3 роки тому

      Hi Dr. Kaur,
      Yes, in order to transition to a two-year bridging program at a Canadian university you will need to either pass the university’s bench test or interview process. In addition, you will have to score above 90% on the AFK exam and your GPA from university along with extracurriculars will need to be very strong.
      We do have courses that help prepare trainees for the interview process of various Canadian universities. You can find more information about our courses here: prepdoctors.ca/courses/ and you can also send us a message on our Facebook page if you have any further questions.

    Hi, great info Thankyou.
    I just want to know that how should we apply for visa for giving the AFK?
    Since we don't have any letter of acceptance from any universities because we are only writing the exam.. should I come back to India after the exam and go back for the interview,if selected???
    Also,what is the minimum score required to get into UofT???

    • @PrepDoctors
      @PrepDoctors  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Dr. Nair,
      You can apply for any visa, including a visitor's visa, to take the exams and our courses as our courses are generally under 5 months. We also do provide a letter of enrollment and a letter of acceptance which can be added to your immigration application.
      In regards to the minimum score required to get into UofT, a 90 and above better your chances of acceptance but your overall GPA and other non-academic factors also have bearings on your acceptance.
      If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us at feedback@prepdoctors.ca or on our Facebook page and we will be happy to help!

      Hi Dr, Fatima,
      Graduates of non-accredited dental specialty programs who are interested in becoming licensed specialists in Canada can apply to take the Dental Specialty Core Knowledge Examination (DSCKE). The DSCKE is used by Canadian faculties of dentistry as part of the admission process for entry into Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Programs (DSATPs). Please note that there are very few positions available in the DSATPs. DSCKE results are automatically sent to Canadian Faculties of Dentistry that offer DSATPs.
      Applicants must be graduates of a dental specialty program from a university that is sanctioned by the government of the country in which it is located to award such degrees but is not recognized by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada. The dental specialty must be one of the nine dental specialty programs recognized in Canada.
      We do not offer courses for the DSCKE examination.
      You can find more information and checklists here: www.cda-adc.ca/cdacweb/en/about_CDAC/

    • @PrepDoctors
      @PrepDoctors  5 років тому

      As Saskatchewan university's program is new we cannot say for sure what AFK score is ideal. However, high 80's and above generally gives you the best chance of getting into a Canadian university. But remember that the AFK score is only part of what is assessed. Clinical and/or academic experience are used as secondary criterion for selection.

      While we advise that one should avoid working while preparing for the equivalency process exams and give atleast 7 to 10 hours a day to studying, a lot of trainees that take the course with us manage studying while having part time jobs. The classes for our AFK and ACJ courses are only held on the weekends, so if you choose, you could have a job on the weekdays and come and attend the courses on the weekend. It is all about how you manage the time and still ensure that you put in some hours of studying everyday.

    Are non PR students eligible for NDEB?

      Hi, Doctor! Yes. What many of our trainees do is apply for a Visitor's Visa to take our courses and take the exam as our course is generally 5 months. During this time, you can begin the process of applying for PR if you so desire.

    I finished my BDS in India and I decided to get licensed as a dentist in New Zealand... As I know that, NZ also shares the same NDEB equivalency process as Canada does... So do you have any coaching centers in NZ or any other coaching centers in NZ that you know about... Plz guide me with this and eagerly looking forward for your answer...

      Hello Dr. Prasath, Yes, you are correct. New Zealand has the same NDEB Equivalency process as Canada but our classes are only available in Canada and we aren't aware of centers available in NZ. We wish you all the best with the process.
