Great video, done that but with the benefit of a very hot day ( benefit???) and after doing the ride down the langdales first 😂😂 great decent down to trout beck though 👍👍🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Cool or not ( on your day )
Yes it's a great ride and the National Hill Climb Event on that same very hill is happening later this month 😀
An awesome view from the top too on a clear blue sky day 💙
@@simonthomas-lakedistrictvelo it is a great view, can’t post a pic from the top but you know it anyway, pity the pubs shut now though.
Oh .... shut? Is it not back open again? I'm going to check 🚴♀️💨💨
Wow! 🤪
Thanks 👍
Which bike is easier to climb the struggle on Simon the Giant or the Planet x?..
Easier... FreeRanger
Faster ... Giant
The TCR is lighter and the gear ratio means you can't just spin away (on some of the climb) so you have to be out of the saddle either to survive or to be giving it the berries 😁 where as the FreeRanger climbs well but heavier with knobbly tyres it is a tad draggy in comparison.... both are way faster and easier than my Kona Process MTB 😁
Hey thanks for the question 👍
Well done. Kept seeing your name coming up on my Strava and now found ya on UA-cam. Not been cycling long myself. Posting videos on my other channel (Grandad Rambles) think this will take me about 5yrs training before I even think of attempting this haha.
Ha ha 😂
Thanks.... its a challenge but I guess the clue is in the name. Good thing is you can just go and tackle it whenever it suits and not when there is an event on.
Thanks for messaging 🙏
@@simonthomas-lakedistrictvelo 👍🏻🚴🙌🏼
On a scale of 1_10 how hard would you rate this climb
Well how fit are you? ?
It's got a steep start and a steep end with a steady rise in the middle🤣
If you can push your easiest gear and keep your breathing regulated you will be fine so just make sure you pace yourself, but how hard.... its hard for me but not impossible and it's harder if your wanting to go as quick as you can(obvs) it's a definitely a climb of two half's but worth the effort.
Sorry I can't give it an accurate 1-10 .... let's say 7 😬 or an 8 maybe
There is another video in my episodes up the Struggle which may shed a little more light

@@simonthomas-lakedistrictvelo thank you
“You’ve got to enjoy it…….we’ll at least try anyway”………classic! Nice Vlog Si, suffering for your art 😂
Ha ha thank you
Great hill and hopefully riding it chips away at the lack of fitness I'm currently experiencing 😬
its grim oop north....49 days for the weather to change.....well done
Thanks, not long to get some serious miles in!!
