Very helpful video. I didn’t even bother to hammer at it to get it loose after watching the vid, I just took the power chisel to it right away and it popped off in few seconds. This video saved me $1,200. Nissan wanted $995 for parts alone. Thanks for putting this up.
Great video! I've watched a few videos on this process. None of them placed a pan below the trans. You definitely need to do that! The CVT fluid comes out, if it's not low like on this car. You also need to have a quart or two on hand to refill it. Mine was full before and drained out, when the axle came out. Thankfully I followed your procedure and didn't make a big mess in my garage! Thank you RB!!!
Hi brother. You said don't use auto zone parts. Why is that? And which part would you recommend and what would be the price? I need to get it changed and I am asking so that no body rips me off and uses the correct part.
@@RBTheMechanic and why would you not recommend the auto zone one? What could be the issue? I need one that ensures my car runs for atleast another year or so.
@@revert2theStr8path because they rebuild it they don’t fix the acuator wear and tear new boot and greasing dosent mean. Axle is rebuilt it’s still will make click click sound. If they got core that’s a sign they refurbish them
Thanks so much. I’m having another mechanic work on it tomorrow. The other mechanic gave up. I’ll let the new mechanic know if he runs into the same issue. I really need my car fixed.
I had the axle done and A/C compressor cost me $600 in labor $350 in parts felt like price was high and could of done it myself but I'm in New York and it's cold so I just paid the man

Well there’s axle seal at the point where axle enter’s transmission that could be bad or get damaged when doing the job u have to be careful when installing it

absolute best video I've seen yet. I'm trying to work on 02 sencers too upstream for Same car 2009 Maxima. do you have a video?

Yeah not so bad to do
Trying to do mine now and it won't come out. I guess I need an air chisel. Does it not mess up the part it bolts too?
Yeah bang it with chisel
Good video Brother. Thank you.

Where did you get the axle from because the autozone one doesn’t have the bracket

Does this have to do with the transmission driveline also ?
This is part of powertrain connected to transmission and puts out power to wheels
Where did you get your cv axle from? Dealership are extremely high on parts.
I purchased it from buywise auto parts in NJ north.
I have a 16 Nissan Maxima platinum v6 3.5 . The axle is stuck. Any advice
Which side axle? And stuck where in hub on other side
@@RBTheMechanic the passenger side. I’m not sure where it’s stuck. I think I’m the middle. 2 mechanic tried to get it off for 8 hours with no success.

I thought you were going to show the driver side
It’s same process just easier dosent have the center bearing pop the axle out with pry bar
Be very careful putting the axle into the tranny! It's very easy to tear the seal!

This is just the drivers side NOT both sides smh
