  • All golfers want more consistency in their games, especially with the mid to short irons going into greens, this magic move is rarely discussed but can be a game changer for adding consistency to your shots.
    This move can be a game changer for consistency as it allows the body, arms and club to all sync up perfectly throughout the swing allowing you to deliver the club to the ball time after time

    Your coaching is on another level. Having started playing golf after retiring from another prpfessional sport, I wish our coaching staff had been so clear and concise in their methodology...
    Many Thanks

    An excellent video Chris on how the arms should work for better consistency! This video is very apropos to what I am trying to accomplish in my golf swing. More of a vertical lift with the arms and the right elbow fold. Well done Chris! Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your staff!

    I did something like that this past weekend. Mind on my elbow position and I strengthened my grip. Ball landed on the green where the ball would usually end up short, left. Going to work on it some more, but then Im going to use your points as well. Depending on the weather, that is.

    Very helpful to understand the mechanics of the backswing for the irons. Please, give us similar guidance for the driver' swing. Many thanks in advance.

    Chris, you recently did a video re: weight shift and adding a second shift onto trail foot. I cannot find it, can you tell me what you named it?

    … another great video 👍🏻
    Simple, easy to understand. But …
    My issue is not the RIGHT arm
    … I am working on keeping my LEFT ARM straighter☝🏻
    I have a tendency to bend the elbow slightly at the top. 🙄
    I know you’ve said, “that’s ok” (a little bend of the elbow), but I find I hit it much better, longer, and straighter the straighter I keep the left arm.
    I’ve tried to shorten my backswing (a’la John Rahm or Tony Finau), but …
    What can I do to have a more stable left arm, and resist the temptation to collapse it at the top of the backswing?
    Merry Christmas 🎄
    … fairways & greens 👍🏻

      My two initial thoughts to help with this would be more rotation through the body, this makes keeping that arm more extended easier. Secondly keeping the trail arm more extended, it will always bend but if you can focus on width in the trail arm it should help the lead 👍

    I've a flying right elbow for years .. can't wait to see if this is an improvement for me.. I am really good with my 4 wedges down to my 8 iron .. okay with my 7 and middling with my 6 iron.. after that a 7 wood etc... which I kill .. lots to review this winter.

    Will this work with a driver? Do you or can you make a video for driver swing in this format? Thank you.

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  Рік тому

      It will and will give you more consistency, just not the best power move, so it may cost you a few yards from the tee

      Do you have any video for better swing and impact for driver? Also, can you make a video with top view for golf swing with iron and driver? It would be a great help. I have not seen and video with top view angle. Thanks

    How is the trailing arm different on the driver?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  Рік тому

      Hey Bob, driver you are looking for a little more speed so the trail arm can move a little move towards your side, but it’s always a trade off between consistency and distance

  • @pohoresky
    @pohoresky Рік тому

    Another key for consistency seldom talked about. Rotation should only occur after elbow is in position to sustain relationship of arms to body so trail elbow does not move around a lot to keep club in front of the body

  • @jeffberger7890

    Can a poor shoulder turn at the beginning of the backswing be the cause of this right elbow pullback?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  Рік тому

      Absolutely it can yes, if the shoulders don’t move correctly sometimes the golfer can ‘pull’ the club around them causing the arms to get out of sync

    I agree the concept of taking the hands and arms out of the swing never works. Likewise swinging the arms and expecting the body to naturally do the right thing doesn't work either. As John Jacobs used to say you have a body swing and an arm swing and your success or not depends on how well you match the two!

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  Рік тому

      Completely agree David, a blend of those two is so important
