Fair enough, this angle takes a lot of stank off of SU true sound. But, you TRIP’n on “You can get over” and “I can’t lose”, bruh. Both of those songs were flawless with all the heat
Mr. Kedrick Taylor brung it w/his arrangement of "He Loves Me". I told you Southern creates a playlist for battles & they don't veer from it until they get PISSED OFF...THEN THEY crank. LIKE THEY HADN'T EVEN THOUGHT OF WHIPPING OUT NOBODY DOES IT BETTER & BEATING JSU W/IT. They believe that all of their songs are equally good & STRONG. I have observed that they do not like to CRANK on older band directors like here, FAMU, etc. The Human Jukebox is a concert band in disguise - one minute they're wooing u w/ He Loves Me and the next they're rearranging your brain w/Tourist.
May the best band win, I love both, I think the real winners will be the ones who watch it. I hope they battle each other with the respect and not play while each other playing. I really hope musicianship wins out
Unfortunately, for HBCU culture and positive Black people it didn't happen that way during the game. As someone in attendance, it really took away from the experience. Southern not only played while Jackson played, but an obnoxious DJ played over Jackson as well throughout the game.
SU has great articulation and dynamics in the jungle, but I love JSU energy and execution in that 1st arrangment.
This one of my favorite 5th from the boombox. My favorite is the 5th from the boombox 2010

.. 🤔it's amazing how folks grade SU on a total different grading scale from everybody else.. On this Human Jukebox Advanced Scale small things are magnified and frowned upon; meanwhile, on the Jackson State remedial scale, these same minut mistakes aren't even noticed.. And if they are noticed, folks disregard it, because it's not nice to point out remedial folks mistakes..... Infact, yall celibrate them and consider their mistake a master piece.... And it's not just on here.. It's everywhere... Folks judge SU harder then everyone else.... 🤔I wonder why

That Welcome to the Jungle was trash. They sound like they just learned it. First-round went to JSU. I don't like what we played in round 2, but maybe I just don't know the song. I'll give SU and ok on the Jill Scott, but I've heard them play it much better. I'll give them round 2(and that's being nice based on song selection only), but it wasn't great. We easily took round 3. Of course, we took round 4. Round 5 Southern can just throw that whole song away. Round 6 was a push, and that's being generous to Southern. That song was nothing except for that one little cranking part.
