You are SO good at this! And patient, that’s a lot to do to make those trees and you’ve made several. Thank you for the tutorial. I was dazzled by your Holiday trees.
I'm recovering from knee replacement surgery and haven't slept for over 24 hours. Started watching you making something beautiful, and your wonderful, soothing voice had me snoring in minutes. 😀 Thanks for the great project, which I intend to do, and for the nap!
Beautiful trees and such a simple process. I think those who aren't as advanced as others will be able to accomplish a great tea light cover, it would make a great gift. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Oh Fiona those trees are so beautiful they would look so lovely in the front window at Christmas time with the light changing and mabey a snow scene with cotton wool on the window sill and a santa with the trees and mabey a little village I'm just imaging what it would look like!!! Such a great idea.🌲
This is so lovely, I'll be making these next year for definite. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets in a total pickle with metal leaf! Although I have found that if I dip my finger tips in talcum powder or cornflour, it does help a bit. Keep the inspirational items coming. I don't know how you do it. I'm on a craft brain block right now.😢😢
I'm so glad you enjyed the video, and thanks for the useful tip on cornflour/talcum 🙂 I'm sure your brain block will unfreeze soon, and have lots of fun with your polymer creations 🙂
A ‘how to’ for all beginners. Really well put together tutorial. I know many experienced people don’t like to cover the basics in their videos but it’s so helpful for those starting out. You really are a gem Fiona, we are so lucky to have you sharing so much with us. These Christmas trees are gorgeous, I look forward to making some.
@@gailresources3970 Thanks so much. It is tough though, with so many new people also doing the tutorials the competition is strong, and as artists we all have to make a living, so I completely understand when people take a new direction to achieve a better work life balance and income.🙂
This tutorial is fabulous, thank you Fiona. I have made quite a few little trees now and love the whole process. My friends and family seem to like them too!
It is always good fun when you are at the beginning of your polymer journey, so absolutley, do them as soon as you feel you are at that point. Have fun when you do. 🙂
Wow. These are amazing. I am so excited to try this. I love polymer clay projects, and can say, I would never have thought of this! Beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
They really are beautiful. I caught myself wondering if the paper would bake w/o burning. A lot of time and caring went into this tutorial and they are magical! THANK YOU for this great tutorial! God bless you!🌲💚👍😊
Thanks so much Ruth. as the clay bakes at a low temperature, the paper should be absolutley fine. But of course if you know your oven is likely to spike in temperature, then take precautions. Always safety first ! 😉🙂
What a wonderful beautiful video!!! the trees are beautiful!!! Thank you for teaching us to make the tree's your a great teacher and explain everything so well thank you so much!!! Hugs Liz...
Hey there Fiona, just wanted to pop in & leave a comment for the algorithm since i've not watched any of your videos for quite a while. The past 2 years have been extremely difficult & i've had no inclination to create anything. Among other things, i was evicted (not my fault), & in the process, lost various belongings which included all my craft supplies & equipment. Am not in a financial position to replace any of it & won't be for quite a while longer. So, watching craft videos only induced depression & feelings of frustration. Out of the blue, this one appeared in my recommendations, so i thought i'd give it a go & am glad i did. I truly love all aspects of your presentations & this one was true to form, most excellent. Your soothing voice got me through it & left me only slightly sad that i'll be unable to do any crafting for a while. Thanks muchly for sharing your incredible creations through such lovely tutorials.
I am so sorry about all that has happened to you, beyond frustrating, and I can understand how upsetting it all must be. I am glad this video didn't stir up too many sad feelings, and send lots of virtual hugs and the hope that things improve soon for you and you can get a bit of crafting done at some stage.🥰
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Thanks so much for taking the time to reply & your kind thoughts. Will hopefully have my finances straightened out in a couple of months, so can maybe take advantage of post Xmas sales. 😄
So wonderful and happy!!!! You are so so creative and generous with your talent! Thank you! I will make some to give as gifts this Christmas. Thank you again ❤
You are a genius! Wow! YOu said to wait and see the new things for Christman! They are wonderful. I now have the problem of "who on my list of 10 gets trees and who gets ornaments". And it is a wonderful problem to have. Thank you. Having made one of your canes, I know I can do this without a doubt. Thank you so much for giving these ideas. Wow! I've got to make some right away. I had to stop in the middle of the video to go buy more transulcent clay. These are great. We have a "white elephant " party each year. I'm going to give a tree and watch people fight over it!
I happened upon this tutorial and fell in love with watching you work! I love your little trees also. I too find your speaking soothing and calming! Thank you ❤️
How beautiful Fiona! You are so inspirational especially because you have made the skinner blend and reducing, reshaping for everyone of any skill level ❤! Your ingenuity always goes up a notch with every single cane and products you create! Thank you so very much. Keep safe and well ❤
I love your art. I have a technique to share that I learned from a friend. The big bake-in bags made for roasting turkeys are great for curing polymer clay in ovens. I can get a pack of three at the Dollar Tree and they usually last me three uses each. I don't have to use a tile for most pieces, but I put my pieces on parchment paper and slide them into a bag, securing it closed. I put the whole shebang on a cookie sheet. The heat of the oven causes the bag to "tent," which is quite handy. I leave the pieces inside the bag to cool completely, which means the toxicity remains on the inside of the bag. I think the shield you made for your trees would fit inside a turkey bag. Also, the parchment paper prevents a shiny finish on the back of my pieces. Let me know what you think.
Thanks so much - I think that's genius !! You need to spread that far and wide😉 I must admit to making this little one for the trees as I have a very big one - bigger I expect than the bake-in-bags for when I do my large sculptural pieces - so I thought I would scale it down for others to see. But your idea is wonderful, thanks so much for sharing it 🙂
They're absolutely gorgeous Fiona - love, love them. Will make beautiful table decorations for Christmas. Love your videos and ideas, always make me smile so thanks heaps. Have a lovely weekend Fiona x
