This was an incredible video. You truly have a gift of teaching. Thank you so very much for sharing your wisdom and the blessing of your time and careful detail. What an honor to have watched your videos. Thanks 🙏 ❤
Thank you, what is the problem with yours exactly? Maybe I can help? And don't forget that we all see the flaws in what we do, which to other people may look simply amazing, so don't be too hard on yourself. I am sure yours looks wonderful. But, as I say, let me know if I can help with soemthing 🙂
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals when I assemble my branches, they come together looking like green: green pinecones! I think I need to reduce the smallest branches more. I didn't measure the reductions, when they're stacked up, they look barrel shaped! They don't get narrow enough. The trouble comes down to the fact that I don't have a lot of cane to keep making the same mistakes, and have a tendency to over-reduce 😔Any advice will be hugely appreciated, I'm an enormous fan!🌹
It sounds like you are so nearly there, but as you say, maybe change the shape of your branch canes slightly. Aim for a diamond shape - use your thumbs and first fingers to push into the sides of the canes to get a roughly diamond shape. They will then sit nicely against each other over your moulds, but have that splayed effect at their edges which makes them more fir tree like. I would suggest practicing with some scrap/leftover clay first. Literally make it into a long snake/sausage shape, then practice with your fingers with the diamond technique. Take thin slices and try them up against the mould till you find a shape that works well. Then take a slice of that shape in the scrap clay, keep it, and reduce your actual cane to that shape too. I hope those suggestions have been of some help, and you soon have branch canes you like. @@Theperilsofbev 🙂🤞🙂
Love, love, love the trees! I’m going to have to mix up some shades of green and get to work. As always your tutorials are thorough, easy to follow, and I could listen to you speak for hours. I love how thoughtful you are with coming up with different things to use so everyone can make what you’re making regardless of having the exact thing you use. Now, on to make some trees that hopefully at least resemble yours 😊
I am so glad you like them Kristina, thank you, and thank you for such a lovley comment too. Have fun with your trees, and I can't wait to see what you do. 🙂
I love your work. Many year ago I got a package of clay that I fooled around with and just ended up wasting most of it, then I moved and left it behind. Then a few years later which was just about 2yrs ago, I got some more and I made your flowers and pots magnet for a friend and one for myself. I enjoyed making them. Thank you for showing how to use polymer clay.
My goodness Fiona ❤ I haven’t been commenting lately and I truly apologize because your beautiful creations certainly deserve a standing ovation!!! I absolutely love LOVE love your festive trees 🌲 and they are perfect for what I can handle this Christmas. I don’t know about the comments that people find necessary to include (I would have said,”Once you clicked away, you should have stayed gone😂)! I, for one, find your voice soothing and mesmerizing that I have actually fallen asleep a time or two😅. But I have always watched your videos so many times over and I appreciate you sharing your ingenuity, creativity and magnificent talent with us. Stay safe and well (keeping the seductive/husky voice)LOL😂
awww, thank you so much Adelaide, what a wonderfully lovely comment, the first thing I have read this morning, and you have brightened my day already, thank you so much 🙂🙏🙏
Your Xmas trees are so lovely 🥰 and you make the process look so easy. You create such lovely projects and your tutorials are so thoroughly enjoyable. Thankyou for posting 😊❤❤
That was so lovely to watch and you made it look easy too. Is there a maximum number of times that the clay can be baked? These are so beautiful and I look forward to giving it a go ❤ 🎄 Kate x
I am so glad you enjoyed it, and no, I have not yet found a maximum number of times it can be baked, and with some of my larger sculpted pieces I have baked them over 10 times before I have finished. So relax, enjoy your clay, and above all, have fun with it. Thanks so much 🙂
Another amazing tutorial! Where did you get the clear decoration the tree was inside of at the end? Can you do a tutorial of that one just on how to finish it like that?
Thanks so much Sandy, that had been my original intent, but then I realised how long it would make the complete video. The snowflakes are added to the top of the sphere with a little liquid clay (plus biodegradable glitter) dabbed on the top. For the Holly on the bottom, I am busy working on another tutorial where I will show how I do those leaves. The Baubles are available at lots of craft shops this time of year, It is a clear glass one with an opening - I got mine from amazon, as I was in a hurry - other shops are of course available 😉🙂
Oh!! Fiona your tiny tree is just adorable!!!! I might just try something like that for my sister whoo collects minitures!!! As always, have a wonderful thanksgiving and again thank you for a wonderfful and inspirering video!!! God Bless you !!!
So adorable. I'm out of green. I'm going to have to not watch cuz I'm going to be sad that I can't make it today so I'm going to hurry order some green I will be back 😄
It doesn't have to be green of course, I think a purple one would look lovely. and if you have some Blue and Yellow then mix them up to get a nice shade of green unique for you and your tree. Thanks so much, I am so glad you think it's adorable 🙂
I got confused. How many leaves do we need for the bottom layer, 8 or 10? How many on next? 8? Then all other layers, 8? 2 layers on each spoon? Thanks
they are adorable, so cute
Thank you very much 🙂
Fiona, you are a wonderful teacher and your clay creations are above and beyond!!❤ Thank you for sharing!! God bless you!

2 layers on each spoon? Thanks
I add 8 slices for each layer, and yes, 2 layers per spoon. With an extra 4 slices for the top on the smallest soon. I hope that helps. 🙂
These look wonderful, but the breathy voice made me click away
My voice isn't for everyone 😉 so turn down the volume, turn on the subtitles and play some music you like in the background 😉👍
