Don't forget to change oil filter, check valve clearances , too.most people think valves get more slack with time; no, they hammer into the head & get LESS slack.then you have valves that aren't quite shut- leaking.bad. oh, crack loose that can chain tensioner adjuster too! A loose cam chain is a bad, bad thing . take it from a guy who has brought a few beaters back to life...
That’s bad compression if you can pull on the pull rope with one hand without breaking your back. I had multiple of those Suzuki’s and they were all the same

ALL 1985 On Up SUZUKI Quad Sport 230 and Bigger Displacement , And 230 Quadrunners , And ALL Quad Racer 250 And 500 2 - Stroke , AND ALL OTHER 1985 ON UP KING QUAD 4 × 4 AND 2WD QUADRUNNERS , ALL HAD FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSIONS OF VARYING TYPES AND TRAVEL.

You can use a razor bade and heat gun to get that paint off and restore those plastics. Works great every time

Got mine for 120 spent $70 to get it running- same quad u got- pretty nice
