I tested this out in my test world, what i found is the size of the water pump needs to be smaller than the air pump or at least equal to the air pump if not you will begin to over pressurize inside the ballast which slows down the filling the tank.(example small pump on both water in and air out will keep the pressure inside tank to remain around 1 atmo) also the fastest way to drain the tank is to use a pressurized air tank and purge the ballast though it does slow down once it hits around 100L which allows the other versions to catch up somewhat. One more quick note to which i am still testing, is the Placement your pumps may affect the prosses as well (vertical vs horizontal).
I guess in a way the slowness to ballast pumps kind of makes sense because the water has to be pumped in and the air pumped out, and since the two are working agaisnt each other, it's slower but it still doesnt feel right being that slow. But, what do I know, I dont know how marine architecture and technology works irl, its just sad to see the devs scrambling to fix things they could have avoided fixing if they did better testing. Great video as always!
I came across with other problem with my balast system. Fluid impeller does not woreked for me as I tried to reverse pumping. I have tried it with gear change and going for electric motors. No luck.
My system works faster but that's because I have 3 things. 1: pumps to pump out the air and the water(no filter). 2: a on/off valve for blow ballast, and a regulated valve to add pressure when I pump out the water. 3: hatches or doors to let water in after my pumps emptyed out the ballast tanks to 10-15 air on the gas meter. Not pressure. And my pumps starts at spawn till less than 15, and than it I can start to fill and empty them with water fast. The systems are fast if you use a near vacuum or high pressure but it's the start that is slow because they spawn with air in them.
What about using a gas filter and port to allow the air to circulate back into the source water chamber? Outside of that, I'm out of ideas. The last week trying to figure out the changes just to have them change again has me turned around on what does and does not work now.
I really appreciate all your videos and all your work! At the moment it makes no sense for me to work on my boat. Various systems no longer work the way I built them and with all the updates it doesn't make sense to fix anything now. I hope they get the game fixed, it's no fun like that anymore. The DLC wasn't worth it in my opinion, maybe they should have focused on an underwater world and submarines instead.
The devs will continue to do this. They don’t listen to the community and don’t test things enough before just releasing stuff. That’s destroying this game and the community.
I’m going to go on a limb and assume the ballast tanks can be sped up with more pumps and by creating a vacuum to suck the water in fast and pressurizing the compartment a’lot before allowing the liquid to flow out. I’ll test this later and see if that fixes everything. I don’t know if it will or not.
Did they fix the 3 icons for 1 vehicle that is spawned glitch? . And did they fix the dial needles jumping around glitch too? Because when my tanks are full like instead of reading 50,446.13 on my full tanks is would read 50,413 and the last 2 number were jumping around to the point that they were unreadable.
The multiple vehicle icons is because each sub body on your vehicle that can be detached is now its own vehicle. This is primarily so missiles despawn after collision, rather than stay attached, so no, it probably will not be fixed
@@EarlTheWhiteNinja Yeah. This is an intended feature. Much needed IMHO. It means you can spawn a ship with a helicopter for instance, and not worry about the ship despawning when you fly far away.
I'm new to stormworks so I guess there is a good reason why this isn't done, but: why not build a hatch or opening at the top of the tank so air can get out, fill it up, and then close that hatch to seal it?
major issue now tho is that it seems like electric generators are broken, i cant get them to work at all, connecting an engine to any amount of any generators makes the engines RPS only slightly go up and then start dying off
well time to wait for the next fix

One thing I have found through personal testing is the more filters you add, you can add a little bit better flow rate, but idk, this needs more work.
Note that you are ysubg a karge pump to pump liquid IN, but using a small pump for pumping gas OUT. Surely you'd want a large pump for both?

It worked
I did a ton of testing and found out you have to lower the pressure of the tanks you're pumping into, then the pumping gets fast again

the dial one is just cause your tank is just jumping around by that much. the dial has nothing to do with it

@Walker_TR2 ah I see.
İts much better actualy and i hope it will be finished very soon.
