I never saw one like this one. When I was young my parents had one that looks like the large cigarette lighters to light candles with. It was pretty simple at the top you put your flint and then pulled a handle at the bottom to make sparks. I really don't know whatever happened to it. I remember when we moved into our new house that it has a electric stove and oven. I wish my mother was still around I would love to know where that went to. I haven't thought about that and a lot of years. Thanks for bringing up fun memories. You did a great job restoring this one.
Ha ha ha, I just had the same experience, and maybe I'm on the other side of the world, what is life? Have a nice time, sorry if I'm bothering you, but its true
Great job , I remember we had one like this , many , many years ago , it was Austrian made , I never saw it working, it was broken all the time, many parts were missing, this is a first time I see how it works, it reminds me of my childhood, Good luck with your future works
Nicely done sir, very interesting restoration, I have seen other spark starters but this one is unique. Thanks for sharing this video with us and please remember that Texas is watching and enjoying your work.
I always feel nostalgic when I see something like this that was used in my house while I was growing up. iIt’s safer than some modern lighters and still works fine (after your restoration of course!)
It was in our house too... it seems strange to see someone spend all that effort beautifying such an object while back in the day, all we wanted from it was to produce a spark.
Woow! This is Turkish tool:)) Omg!!! Where did u find it? Omg!!! This tool bring me back to my childhood!!! "Güven" means " trust" :)))) u restored my childhood😢😭

Nice job, but it looks like it was crudely made when new and was probably inexpensive, usually the old stuff was overbuilt. Any idea how old it is? The sound of your drill made me sleepy, good night from Indiana.
How many parts do you nee to create a spark? :-D Reminds me of the overcomplicated apple peeler over at Hand tool Rescue! :-D Great job on remaking the broken part! :-D
Turned out very nice. Congratulations. I do think you need to be more gentle and thoughtful when dismantling your restoration projects. In this one you were a bit heavy handed when trying to pry things apart. Bending old metal is a dangerous practice and it leads to metal breaking in half. Be very gentle when doing that. Sometimes if you really think things through carefully, you’ll find that there are other, more safer, ways of doing things. Take it slow.

Hello Resto beautiful lighter and beautiful restoration i like how you make the new part good job
Thank you very much :)

How it works? Does it need natural gas or does it rely on friction to generate sparks?
Yes, it is just generates sparks.
This thing is what we would call fučƙ-gaggled.... extremely wasted. Gorgeous outcome thank you for sharing.
Nice restoration I put a like because you have kept the soul of this tool I'm talking about the handle, others will have done it again so well done .
