- In this video, I'll show you how I made buildings cheaply for my Lionel O Scale layout. I found some images on the internet, scaled them to the right size, printed and then mounted them to foam core boards. They can fill a lot of space and against a back wall, they look pretty darn convincing.
Absolutely fantastic Bob! I think sometime I would like to give this a try.
@@danielpfaffe4914 Thanks for watching it. It’s a pretty fun project. Have a nice weekend!
Excellent.! Bob the Ending is Fantastic.! WELL DONE.! BIG 👍The Façades too.! 😊
Thanks Mark. 🍔
Building fronts look outstanding. Great video
Thanks Paul. 🇺🇸
Very Nice Video Bob. Those Fronts look amazing. 👍
Thanks!
In my youthful years in the hobby there's was Frank Ellison and his Delta Lines. He used a very similar method on his background to add depth.
👍🏻
Nicely done.
Thanks!
That looks like a fun easy way to add backdrops to a layout. I should do that for my HO layout except mine would resemble the black and white portion of the video since thats all my printer can do.
Have you seen the videos by @ToyManTelevison ? They did similar buildings in large scale and added depth by layering the foam. And they also added lights and details.
Thanks Tim. Have a great week. Bob
A terrific technique...well done Bob ! 👌
Thanks Jim.
Nice looking buildings, the end result lacks a bit of depth that you could easily add by printing another copy or two of the structure and layering additional thicknesses of card stock with them glued to it around the window frames and the cornice trims. Great modeling "trick" that has long been forgotten, Thanks for introducing folks to it
Thanks!😀
OK, thanks, I'll do the same then
Alright. Have a good weekend 😀
Looks good
Thanks 🏠
Where did you find the images to use on this project? Do they have doors for the apartment building?
I just found them as online images and brought them into Pages to get them the proper size. Have a nice weekend! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Do you have a link to those building fronts to print?
Unfortunately not. I just searched images on Google. Sorry.
Do you have a link to the buildings you used? They would work for the time period I'm trying to model on my layout, Thanks you!
Hi. I don’t actually. It was just a google search using the words, “Facade, rendering, or elevation “ I think. Some combination of those should bring them up. Look for high resolution images too. 👍
