    Yep bristol is slippy at the best of times but if you go there when its a really cold day -omg! It’s a lot better in the summer months though.
    But as with any track the locals will know the tips and tricks to go fast there.
    One tip- the bottom fast right hander, lift off the throttle before the apex and coast all the way around until you’re on the exit.

    Going to the hairpin you have to go wide then go tight and when you at the top you have to go wide at tight in really quick this makes more spread and can get to the 30s

    I've only been karting once and it was at this track. I was on about 2 hours of sleep and so was lacking my usual awareness.
    I was tired enough to not have noticed that we were meant to be coming in to the pits, until I was doing full speed down the ramp, preparing to swing it round the big right-hander. I realised this at the very last moment and dove in to pit entry, slamming the brakes enough to somehow avoid hitting the martial.
    I was lucky that the track was empty except for the 3 people I'd gone along with, otherwise I'd have probably rear-ended someone .
    Overall a very fun track though, with an enjoyably challenging first half. Also great video!

    My local! :D Public sessions on this ice rink are always an experience! It takes quite a while to get decent pace on this one, I am still struggling, but it has made my throttle control much better thanks to the low grip!
    We've all drifted into that barrier at turn 1, the trick there is ALL of the grip is inside, so you can stick to the middle of the track as you approach it, and turn in early, and the kart just magically grips, if you get it right, if you don't then you're gonna be testing how good your rib protectors are. 😅
    The corner at the bottom of the ramp is an enigma, it changes every time you go 🤣 feels great when it goes well though!

    Hello I’m 14 and have been today here and I found there’s loads of grip at the top of ramp on the corner and I went in kart number ten and got 36.789 and I wanted to tell u that if you wanna maximise speed use all the track up and go from wide to inside when karting ❤

    Good work, try a few different lines, some lift and coast will help too. I know that opposite lock thing too well, first race of the year in the final stint it rained, opposite lock every lap on one particular corner, Coming out of a right corner turning left heading towards the dirt and trying to get the the next right corner, it wakes you up.

    • @LearnToRace

    if you want to set lap times you really need to go at night. Last week went at 10pm and managed to best my pb by 0.7s with a 38.5. Having a clear track and getting into a rhythm is the only way to get faster times in my experience.

  • @davemason4257
    @davemason4257 2 роки тому

    That's my old home track!
    It is a bit slippery on public sessions, members sessions are about 2/3 seconds quicker... The grip isn't where you expect it, so people new to the track tend to struggle. The long right has all the grip on the inside, not where you expect it. The fast left is also super grippy if you lift the throttle, turn it in to the apex, then nail it. Get it wrong and you end up in the barrier though.
    Looked like you were turning in very late for the hairpin before the ramp as well and running wide where there is no grip, that'll lose you a second a lap easy.
    If you'd been out with a regular you'd have seen all that and been loads faster! It's a fun little track though. If you don't like slippery I'd avoid Reading! Downstairs there makes Bristol seem like you're driving on glue, it's insane.

    • @LearnToRace
      @LearnToRace  2 роки тому

      Yeah I was braking into that hairpin to go a little deeper to straighten out the exit, I know for definate I've got more time in me, but as it was just a first time I was happy with what I got, apart that damn last corner haha

Nice for first time but I know where is at least 1-2 seconds, but time goes so fast in the 15 min sesions XD The first one was a nightmare, lot of yellow flags and 2 red flags, the second was much better, but just when I started to feel ready to push more in some corners I saw the checked flag :(
