Haha, how funny I come across this. I too purchased the Sure Grips first, due to availability. Then I finally procured my Moxis. While I eventually got "okay" on the Suregrips, they simply are NOT as comfortable or manueverable as the Moxis. I had been told the Suregrips are better for wide feet, but even that has not turned out to be the case. I am happy to have both skates, so that I can have multiple setups. But the Moxis win for comfort, hands down. Edit to add: the Suregrips have a stiffer ankle. Which is very polarizing. Some people hate Moxis flexible ankle and want more support. Personally, I love the comfort and flex.
Hats off to you for mastering the Suregrips! I just can’t with those skates. At all! I’m a Moxi girl for life! As for the boots, when I first tried the Lollys I was blown away by the fact that their suede allowed for the movement that it did while the boot offered my foot and ankles a solidity all around the contour of the foot that the Suregrips just don’t. They just have a stiff boot, but the inner construction of the Lollys is a thing of beauty! But yes, color me biased! 🤪❤️
Alas, not when it comes to the balance situation. With the Moxi Lollys, the founder, Michelle Steilen, tested every height to the heel imaginable to find juuuuuust the right spot for the balance. That, paired with the right kingpin in the trucks is key. AND their boot feels incredible on and the way it hugs the foot for just the right amount of support. You get none of that with the Suregrips. Wheels and bearings are factors affecting other elements but not this, unfortunately. I'm so in love with the masterfuol design of the Lollys that I just bought my second pair and am about to buy a third!
Have you noticed the Boardwalks wheels are more underneath the soles while the Lollys have wheels that stick out a little more, for a better bearing surface, making them a little more stable? Look at the difference in how much more the front wheels stick out to the side in the Lolly, but not so much on the Boardwalks. More stable! I have Boardwalks and want Lollys.
Ooh! I will have to check that out! Might explain the instability that I and many others have experienced with the Boardwalks! And if that is the case then it boils down to the plates. I am NOT a fan of that Suregrip plate. The Moxi Lollys come with the Powerdyne Thrust and it is fabulous! Hope you get Lollys soon! They are so amazing!
Those yellow skates with leopard trims are so cute!!!! 🐆💛🐆💛🐆💛🐆 And this video is fab!! I just ordered the new Barbie Lolly’s.. I’m hoping they’re fab for $400 🙈😂💝🛼🛼 I had the same falling issue with the rosegold impalas. Fell down and sprained my hand in 5 minutes. Other suede skates I have and I never fall in those either. Very interesting!!!
NOTE: (primer on bearings, wheels, trucks) ABEC 3, 5, 7, etc is supposed to be the amount of spin and stuff but it's an industrial standard that doesn't totally translate when the *bearings* are used in things like skates and skateboards. the *WHEELS* have different HARDNESS, going up to 100a (where you only want really smooth surfaces). generally street wheels that can absorb a lot of roughness will be 73+. some people will skate in the 90s but for really rough you'll see 73a-85/87a as common. this is for skateboards, quad skates, and inlines. a WIDER wheel with more contact with the ground will be more stable. a flat shape also being more stable vs curved wheels. a TALLER wheel such as 53 vs 57+mm will also eat up rough roads better generally. and don't wear down as fast. you can roll farther on a push. now, better bearings that spin faster and will let wheels spin longer might feel more uncontrolled for some people. bad bearings or really cheap crumby bearings, you spin the wheel on your skate or board and it will stop after a few revolutions vs spinning over a minute. bearings are easy enough to change out. they fit into your wheel and you just pop 'em out. *trucks* can make a huge difference to people and what feels good, stable, responsible to them. (the metal part your wheels attach to that help you turn and stuff). tightening or losening them also has an effect. loose generally means it takes smaller effort to make changes, tighter means you have to do more, but beginners often like that because they aren't ready for nuance and this feels more controlled. tighter will also be more stable for straight shots skating. *wheelbase* or the amount of distance between your trucks can also affect your sense of stability and control. it's funny how all of this totally translates between skateboards and quad skates. inlines, the wheels and bearings stuff is the same but there is a rail instead of trucks. also of note is that the *bushings* which are the sort of rubbery plasticy thing in the middle of the trucks that is like the cartilage for the truck, like how we have cartilage in our joints.... i keep seeing them referred to as *"cushions"* with skates. not sure if this is a widespread oops, where someone misheard it, or the rollerskate industry decided to use a different term. bushing is the technical term.
Your review is the first one to talk about what nobody else seems to mention. Like the length of the tongues. I was close to ordering some boardwalks, but the shorter tongue would really bother me. The way you described each thing that made the Moxi special for you turned me around. Legit Moxi needs to send you a free pair for how many you alone sold off people researching before purchasing. Great job. 👍 😀
Haha, thank you! You are too kind! I'd NEVER say no to any Moxi skates! To know me is to know I love the Lolly so much I can't stop buying more pairs! Eek! 😉 I even bought some Riedell skates (designed by my mentor and teacher, the legend of rollerdance, Richard Humphrey) and he mounted them on the Suregrip plates (without knowing how much I LOATHE those) and, lo and behold, I couldn't skate in them! I have since bought some other plates he is going to install for me soon but it brought home the brilliance of the Moxi Lolly complete outdoor package even more! Everything about those skates and that brand are magic! You'll have to let me know how you like them if you get a pair! They do also sell the Moxi Lolly Cosmetic Blems, which means they have some slight cosmetic defect so you can score them even cheaper. Moxi has them available on their site as do legacy Skates and Empire Skates last I checked. Can't go wrong with Moxi!
words can't express how glad I am to come across your video review! I was super torn between lavender sure-grip boardwalks and the lilac moxi lollies because of the 'ankle support issues' with the lollies but after watching you, i am now sooo happy i decided to order the lollies yesterday! i can't wait to get them 🥺😍
Thank you so much for the kind words! I so appreciate them and am so happy this video helped! Sooooo excited for you! AND you got one of their newest colors too! Yassss! You’ll have to let me know how you like them! And yeah, I think sometimes people consider boot rigidity to be ankle support. The Lollys have that perfect flexibility to the suede to move without feeling constrained, and yet, they’re definitely not too loose, but it was that around the foot and ankle solidity that you feel immediately when you try the boots on that blew me away. I gushed about the Lollys to Estro Jen, the founder of Moxi, in one of the lives and she said that all that attention to detail is because the Moxis are made for skaters by skaters and you can soooo tell! And if you’ve ever checked out any of their videos where they test out new stuff they test the crap out of them. I’m a Moxi girl for life! Hoping you get your babies soon! ❤️❤️❤️
I was thinking the same - I think I just watched the other video mentioned. I have moonlight rollers and I love them so much but life is too short not to own a pair of Lollies as well!
Oh my goodness! I see you commented a while back! Forgive me for not replying! I never saw your lovely comment. UA-cam is nuts for some reason with my comment notifications and I'm so happy I happened upon this now. I'm curious, did you end up ordering the Lollies? Hope you love them, if so! You'll have to let me know! ❤️
I was on the fence with the Sure Grip I found a pretty one in lime. Then I found a Moxi Lolly in my size, my preferred color of Apple green. Both very hard to find since it is summer and everyone is out of good skates. I ordered the Lollys. Yay! I was lucky to find this pair.
Thank you so much and thank you for checking it out! Sooo excited for you! Moxi is THE way to go! I admit I thought it all had to be super hyped up before jumping in but have been blown away by the excellence and quality as to every aspect of their skates. I’m a Moxi girl for life! Hope they arrive soon! ❤️❤️❤️
I have since given my Suregrips away so I no longer have them here to test that out though I did, on different occasions, hold them up side by side, wheels to wheels and I don't think I noticed different like that. BUT, oftentimes even a subtle difference like that can definitely affect where the lean is. I talked to the owner of a local skate shop who mounts plates unto skates and asked her about it and she said that there are many factors involved from the plate size not being right for the boot (though these came with the plates) or sometimes something as subtle as the location of the plate not being in the right spot. But if I cross paths with some Suregrip Boardwalks again I'll try to check out the plate and wheel locations for sure! Thanks for letting me know!
i heard the toebox on suregrip boardwalks were wider and roomier than the moxi lolly, BUT.... that the boardwalks were hurting some people's feet. and though heels are good for rhythmic/dance skating (vs flats for jam/breakdancing and skateparks) that some people's feet couldn't handle the heel and it would hurt them over time.
Thank you for this thorough review. I have been confused about which of these two skates to get. Now I am thinking that maybe the Lollys are the right ones for me too! And yes, they are so cute! 😊
@@MizBoheMia I actually purchased Sure Grip Boardwalk (lavender) skates because they are marked down now. I think Sure Grip has a newer model. I wanted to watch my budget on my first pair after many years of not skating. They are working out so far. I think the Lollys are in my future though!
So glad to hear they're working for you! As for Lolly's, keep an eye out on FB marketplace. Sometimes you can find them new or almost new at a better price!
Thank you, love! SOOOO glad you did!!! CANNOT wait until you get them! You might have to FaceTime me then moment you get them so I can see you unbox them!
What do you think of the Moxi Beach Bunny skates for beginners? Do you have those? I'm leaning towards maybe getting those as a beginner just because I felt like the Moxi Lolly skates wouldn't be enough ankle support as a beginner. I have been looking into a lot of different brands as my first skates to get but now I'm just feeling overwhelmed with all of the options!
I think the Moxi Lolly skates would be fab! Ankle support isn't necessarily gauged by the stiffness of a bit but rather by the support built into the contour of the entire foot. Then it's a matter of preference of how you like your boot, what type of skating you will be doing and what the needs are etc. If you are going to stick with it long term, then I would definitely recommend the Moxi Lolly skates. I LOVE them BUT I also do not like stiff boots. They don't work for me or my feet AND I am a rollerdancer so I don't do street skating anymore or park skating at all etc. The best thing would be to make it out to a skate shop... even if it's not close it's worth the trip... to try on skates and see what works best for you before you invest. And they can also guide you there towards something that is best for you, your budget, your skill level and skating style.
Man, so sorry to hear! There's something definitely off with that setup and I don't quite know what but it didn't work for me AT ALL. If there is any chance you can exchange them, I highly recommend the Lollys! Though at the time of filming they were much closer in pricing than they are now but you can still score them at a decent price by getting the Blems (more info here: www.empireskateshop.com/products/moxi-lolly-skates-pool-blue-closeout?variant=44000887275752)
I just saw your clip in the new Moxi video and I couldn’t be happier to have found you!!! YES!!!! This has been my exact experience as well!! Even the pineapple Lollys!!! Only thing is my Suregrips were blue..Lol. I am in LOVE with my Lollys!!! They are a world of a difference. You couldn’t have explained this any better!!!!! Happy skating!!!! 💖🛼Venetta🛼💖
I sooooooooo appreciate your kind comment and your taking the time to find this video and leave it here! So much! And I've had a few people say the same thing (in the comments here) and it doesn't surprise me that we all prefer the Lollys! They are HEAVEN! I'm even thinking that come every Christmas I should gift myself a new Lolly color because I just want more Lollys just because! 😂 I am THAT smitten! And WOOH on twinning with our Lollys! LOVE the Pineapple color! Sending you so much love and appreciation and wishing you a magical new year full of fab skating adventures! Leila
I was looking for a new skate for the rink (my outdoor skates are beyond and not returning beginner friendly). I wound up with a SureGrip Fame and I mention that only bc I tried on a Boardwalk and I HATED how that boot felt on my ankle. I hope one day I get a chance to try on a Lolly and see if there's a difference...
Glad to see I’m not alone on this! If ever you try a Lolly let me know what you think! I was surprised by how much it stood out to me the moment I tried on my Lollys! You can see my reaction in my unboxing video. Blown away! I was worried that the boots would feel tight in the toe box and didn’t expect much ankle support but the feel of the boot all around was amazing! Welcome back to skating! Hope you’re loving your Fames! ❤️
@@MizBoheMia Your face indeed said it all. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Fames. I had a great time at the rink last night. I'd be out here REALLY tearing it up if my !@#$% knees would let me be great (next Amazon order is KT tape and I'm going to spend time working on strengthening my quadriceps and hamstrings to support my knees and high intensity cardio for endurance. It's been seven years or so since I last skated regularly (outdoor, general fitness on inlines) and 40 years since I've been in a rink. There's some green apple Lolly's in my future :)
@@SensationallySilky You can do it and it WILL get better! But DO look into maybe changing your cushions! I saw a video by Moxi (and then did one of my one... and link to the Moxi one in the description box of that video) about how roller skate cushions come in hard, medium and soft and how they act as shock absorbers and so if you have knee issues or are experiencing knee issues while skating then going to a softer one can help. The Lollys come with medium cushions and I switched them out to soft cushions and am SO loving the difference! That, coupled with the Moxi Gummy outdoor wheels (the 78a durometer is key for me) has been magic. But I skate outdoors so soft cushions should still work with indoor wheels for sure. The key, should you want to give that a try, is to look and see where to buy cushions for the kind of plate that your Fames come with. And YASSSS to green apple Lollys in your future! Vibing the big vibe for you!
@@MizBoheMia I couldn't resist the urge to hit the skate shop closest to me. I bought some radar energy outdoor wheels and slapped them bad girls on my Fames. FINALLY got to hit my regular spot. I decided I was only gonna try a quickie (one little loop around) just to see how they felt. MAN WHAT??? those outdoor wheels with this boot is tha BIZZZNAASSSS.. I will consider upgrading to softer cushions as well on your advice - I'm a REALLY big girl and just tapped the big 5-0 so my knees weren't in the greatest shape to begin with but I swear I feel the old legs getting stronger with every run. I also realize this particular wheel is not the GREATEST for the rink but I'm going to try them to see if I'm a little more stable as my harder wheels were HELLA slick on that rink floor and that had me a bit nervous. Now I'm out here buying toe caps and laces and stops to jazz up my Fames. Thanks for the love and support, 'preciate you gorgeous!
@@SensationallySilky YASSSSSSS!!!!! SO happy to hear they helped! And, honestly, I think the wheels will feel just fine given our skating levels! My bestie (who has the same skate setup as me) and I, both having gummy wheels, feel they are slippery enough on indoor floors so we are GOOD with our outdoor wheels indoors for now! 😉So much of skating is coordinating the mind with the body and feeling good is a huge first step. I'm working on getting back to that. A car tried to hit me on purpose a few months back and I STILL get in a fear space in my head which makes my body tense up etc... so if those wheels feel good, that's all that matters right now! Sending so much love your way beauty and so happy the wheels worked out! ❤️
Totally. I've seen other reviewers say their Moxi Lolly tongue moved around on them but I own three pairs of Lollys now and I've never had that issue with any of them! I hate those Boardwalk skates soooooo much!
This is and almost a year old video but After watching your video I decided to try a friends pair of skates (chaya) and the difference with my sure grip boardwalk is huge! The balance on the sure grips is terrible! I wish I had known it was my skates before I broke my ankle in them.
Oh my GOD!!! Soooooooo sorry to hear!!!! Are you better now or is this recent? It’s been mind blowing to get the feedback I’ve gotten since posting this. I never imagined others would be experiencing the same thing, let alone getting badly hurt! So hoping you are on the other side of it and, if not yet, wishing you speedy healing and sending much love your way! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment! ❤️❤️❤️
@@MizBoheMia Thank you for your kind words! I broke my ankle 3 years ago on sure grip boardwalk skates. After 3 years I had the courage to try skating again and then I tried a friends Chaya skates and it was so different. Now I'm not afraid to start skating again because I realize it wasn't entirely my own lack of skill. Things happen! stay safe and keep making great content.
@@julie99nl Oh goodness! So glad you’re better and getting back into it! And thank YOU for the kind words. They are much appreciated! Hope your new skate journey is nothing short of magical (and injury free!)!
Hi- maybe you know/did this… But honestly my big question is did you upgrade the Suregrip cushions to medium softness so equal comparison? Sure grip stock cushions Im pretty sure are hard like 90A+ & Lollys guessing are medium i think ~85A partly why you pay more though cushions are
I appreciate the comment, thank you! However, my comparison also deals directly with what the two skates are like straight out of the box and given that I had a huge issue with the Surgrips from the getgo the last thing I wanted to do was invest anything extra into them. It became a question of which skate was worth keeping, and there the Lollys won, and since then I HAVE actually changed the cushions on my Lollys (I have a video on that). I prefer the boot, the quality, the materials, the plate of the Lolly over the Suregrip and, by that same token, they have plates with different kingpins but I'm also not going to change those around for the sake of the comparison, you know? Out of the box, as they are, which worked best for me... that was the focus as many other skaters will also be aiming to purchase something that is the best it can be from the getgo. And the cushions wouldn't resolve the balance issue and the fact that I kept falling with the Suregrips and not at all with the Lollys, you know? They play more into maneuverability and shock absorption and how that can affect the body (for example, softer cushions equals better shock absorption which in turn makes it easier on the knees). Overall, the Lollys, for me, were the superior skate in all aspects (including the fact that they come with medium cushions from the getgo and given the price point, and not hard cushions). The Moxi Panthers are beautiful! But definitely very different from the Lollys. If ever you get a chance to try the Lollys I hope you do. Something tells me you'll love that amazing ankle support they have and the suppleness of the suede!
@@MizBoheMia Wow thanks for the fast response! Yeah srry if i missed that this was more whats better out of box kinda comparison of what skate was best I mentioned cause Ive looked through a ton of skates when i shopped around & learned basic components, & I noticed almost every skate
@@LynleyCat Yeah, and the whole point when you are at the price point of the Suregrips and Lollys is to get as solid a boot as possible. The Lollys hold the edge even with their cushions but, mainly, the design and combo of all the components is key to the stability it provides as opposed to the Suregrips and sadly that issue is not easily fixed with cushions, you know?
@@LynleyCathow do you like the Panthers? I got the lolly but feel I may need a stiffer boot. I was debating Panthers, SG Fame and SG Boardwalk Plus. And VNLA Luna
I've got lollys coming in but they're gonna have be soooo good to compare to the suregrip. That being said, I've been skating on indoor rios for 3 months so I dont have a huge amount of experience in quality skates.
@@lindsay3793 Well, yes I did, as you can see in this video. 😉 Since then I have gotten two more Lollies and LOVE them. Can't get enough of them! I highly recommend them and the more I love the Lollies the more I LOATHE the Boardwalks! 🤪 Sorry for the late reply! Just seeing your comment. You'll have to let me know if you got Lollies and how you like them!
OMG I have the Suregrip boardwalk and I fall all the time. I have been roller blading for 20+ years and I never felt??? So I didn’t understand why. Thanks for your video! You make me realize that my skates are the problem not me lol!! I live in Canada and the Moxi are very difficult to get here...
Oh wow! I see it isn't just me then and that I'm not crazy! I was so thrown off by that one video I found where this woman found the Surgegrips to be more stable! Made NOOOOO sense! I literally fell ALL the time and was reconsidering skating and thought I was horrible but didn't remember being so horrible. I felt gaslit by the skates! 😂 You know, Moxis are very difficult to get everywhere right now and I was prepared to wait for them as long as it took and I will tell you that they ARE worth the wait. But don't buy from individuals who jack up the prices online. I got mine for $299 last year, but in the new year they've gone up to $349. Those that sell them online must have gotten them at those prices and are charging $500+ and that's insane. I'm sure there are skate shops in Canada where you can preorder and then just wait until they drop? It's worth looking into! I am SO in love with my Moxis! And I recently changed the cushions to softer ones (I will have a video on that at some point but they have an in depth one up on the Moxi channel) and they are heaven to skate on outside. It definitely is NOT you! Sending you love from San Francisco!
@@MizBoheMia I could finally found Moxi Lolly at a skate shop in Canada and the price was reasonable. I got them yesterday and OMG you were sooooo right!! I was much more stable and could finally skate without being scared of falling on my back! What a difference!!! It definitely worth the wait and price! Cheers! :)
@@annemarcoux3431 Oh my god, YASSSS!!!! Soooo excited for you and so happy that you are happy with them! I am seriously so blown away by Moxi! They really have created a quality skate and O definitely want more in different colors! Hahaha... not any time soon but if I could I would. 😉 Congratulations on your skates! I’m seriously so excited for you because I so know firsthand the difference they make and the joy that comes back to skating from not falling over all the time! ❤️❤️❤️
I had a HORRIBLE time trying to transition out of inlines to quads which is why I stopped skating. So mad that I gave up cause it's hard now. But i'm here sooooo let's get rolling, right?
Wow! I am no longer surprised when I hear others say they experienced the same thing! Such a bummer though thank goodness for Moxi! I DO see many post about their love for the Suregrip Boardwalks and I just do NOT get it! Like, how are they NOT falling? And have they tried the Moxis? Cause I can't imagine them ever wanting to go back to Suregrip if they try some Moxis!
Amazon! Hah! I had ordered a bag of a bunch of patches and there was the evil eye one and I was smitten! I feel. like if I have other Lollys in different colors they all need to have an eye too! 😉
Haha! Thank you! So wish I worked for them I LOOOOVE their stuff so much!!! (Can’t begin to tell you how much extra stuff I’ve bought from them just because of how amazing my Lollys feel). You’re gonna LOVE them! Just be sure to follow their sizing guidelines! And let me know what you think when you get them! ❤️❤️❤️
ABEC rating isn't that important for roller skates. It's a marketing tool used to sell bearings! The ABEC rating is a measurement of bearing tolerance in machinery and skate wheels will never spin at those kinds of RPM to matter. Bones found that some ABEC 3 Bearings outperformed ABEC 7 & 9 bearings. So Bones will not use the ABEC rating. there are other factors that determine a Bearing quality or performance. And sping your wheels to see which spins longer isn't a valid test either because different bearings will perform differently under a load, aka putting your weight on your wheels. too many variables from the kind of lube to the quality of the steel or ceramic. To keep it simple if you buy a good bearing like Bones Reds/Swiss or Sure-Grip Qube and it feels smooth just go with it.
Love this and sooo appreciate your comment and insight, thank you! Bearings are definitely something I have yet to properly delve into so, once I do, I’ll def be keeping all this in mind! As for my comparisons between the skates, given that I am not well schooled in bearings, all I have to guide myself by is feeling and performance as per what I’m looking for in a skate and what felt better. 🤷🏼♀️
@@MizBoheMia I wonder if your Boardwalk's had the same setup as your Moxi's would you like them equally as much? i.e. Same Wheel & Bearing combination same bushing/cushion hardness. On another note, I do love that the Sure-Grip boot's sole is stitched and glue so many skates boots are only glued, one less likely point of failure. I can't speak for the Moxi boot but I hear it's a quality boot. Unforturnenly I'm a guy and their color palette is not very masculine. lol If they would make and market a masculine line with colors other than black and beige I would buy their skates. I would dig a pair of midnight blue suede skates. lol Otherwise a great US company.
@@hatfieldw Alas, no. The wheels and bearings didn’t have too much bearing (hah! 🤪) on why I preferred the Moxis… the trucks, the quality of the boot, the true ankle support and movement flexibility etc and everything else i mention made the Moxi Lolly, and its setup, far superior in my opinion. Sooooo love it! And I HAVE seen dudes rocking the Lollys and the Jack boots! I say pick one of the fab colors and go for it! 😉❤️
@@hatfieldw this is way late but the *moxi panthers are supposedly unisex* and are *black* , and if you get rid of the leopard print laces, you'd be good to go. they have a little heel but are good to use even in a skatepark. (unlike the lolly or the bunnies). ugh these colors man lolllll. i just want stuff in black. rather just do color on wheels or laces. anyway i feel your pain on the color palates. why cant we have like.... GREEN? a real green? apparently pastels are pushed like no other. a suede oxblood would be badass. doesn't seem to exist. yeah, i basically could go for doc martens on wheels lol. they had good colors. dark green, dark blue, dark purple velvet if you're feeling fancy, oxford. i just don't see why they wouldn't go dark? i know plenty of guys who like color just.... not always so damn bright, especially for footgear. (i'm a girl but it's really annoying they push all this bright and pastel shht and don't give us the option. i dare you to find a good running shoe in ALL BLACK. or having green or orange highlights instead of blue and pink and stuff. why is it treated like you aren't allowed to like what's not considered mainstream? anyway, at least ya'll have better luck on shoes. i'd wear the guy stuff but the heel fit is too sloppy on so many. docs though? truly unisex. the guy ones fit great. the 'women's' versions... eh, too skinny sometimes.)
@@DeadRoman Then don’t buy it. Period. It is for skaters who can consider both since Suregrip claims to have many of the same qualities with their Boardwalk skate as the Lolly, which it doesn’t. Furthermore, the Boardwalks retail from $230-$250 for the most part and at the time I filmed this the Lollys retailed at $299. So it’s fair and it was timely and I stand by everything I said then and now.
😂😂😂 It's because you don't make a valid point whatsoever and you're butt hurt that you have nothing intelligent to say and I'm not here to kiss ass. Period. If all you wanna harp on is price point, at the time I filmed this they were comparable. Don't like it, go cry about it elsewhere. It is what it is.
The issue may simply be wheels or bushings. It's easy to find out, swap them over.
And this video is fab!! I just ordered the new Barbie Lolly’s.. I’m hoping they’re fab for $400 🙈😂💝🛼🛼
I had the same falling issue with the rosegold impalas. Fell down and sprained my hand in 5 minutes. Other suede skates I have and I never fall in those either. Very interesting!!!
Thank you so much! I seriously love them! ❤️🙏🏽😍
Yay!!! Sooo excited for you! You’re gonna love it! And great color choice. So pretty! ❤️
I feel very confident now about my Moxi boot purchase now, it'll be worth the wait!! Love your channel!
Thank you for this review. SO HAPPY
Thank you for taking the time to watch it and for your kind comment! ❤️
I’ve seen a few reviews and the difference seem to be the where the wheels are on the plate.
The back wheels are more forward on the sure grips
@@MizBoheMia thank you for the video, there are less reviewer videos to compare skates and I find them really helpful.
My pleasure! Glad it was helpful! ❤️🙏🏽
i heard the toebox on suregrip boardwalks were wider and roomier than the moxi lolly, BUT.... that the boardwalks were hurting some people's feet. and though heels are good for rhythmic/dance skating (vs flats for jam/breakdancing and skateparks) that some people's feet couldn't handle the heel and it would hurt them over time.
The intro was so real lmao
Thank you for this thorough review. I have been confused about which of these two skates to get. Now I am thinking that maybe the Lollys are the right ones for me too! And yes, they are so cute! 😊
Glad to be of help! You'll have to let me know how you like your Lollys! I have three now and LOVE them ALL! 🤪
Great review! Thank goodness 😅 I ordered the Moxi’s.
I just got boardwalks and if my lean back at all I start cartoon slipping everywhere

I noticed how thin and floppy the boardwalk tongue is.... moves around and bunches up.
Moxi has padded tongue it's Great!
I have the moxi lolly and absolutely love them!!
Yay! Another Moxi lover! Man, if I could own every color I would. I’m obsessed! ❤️
Hi- maybe you know/did this…
But honestly my big question is did you upgrade the Suregrip cushions to medium softness so equal comparison?
Yeah srry if i missed that this was more whats better out of box kinda comparison of what skate was best
I mentioned cause Ive looked through a ton of skates when i shopped around & learned basic components, & I noticed almost every skate
Great video! Many thanks🎉
Thank you so much! ❤
I've got lollys coming in but they're gonna have be soooo good to compare to the suregrip. That being said, I've been skating on indoor rios for 3 months so I dont have a huge amount of experience in quality skates.

Unforturnenly I'm a guy and their color palette is not very masculine. lol
If they would make and market a masculine line with colors other than black and beige I would buy their skates. I would dig a pair of midnight blue suede skates. lol
Otherwise a great US company.
Alot of people compare these and they are in completely different price points. Apples to oranges.
Not at ALL. If you’re a skater you know. Anything by Riedell, which the Moxis are, is going to be far superior and give you more bang for your buck.
@@MizBoheMia you are comparing a $360 skate, to a skate thats going for $150 everywhere. Its not a fair comparison in any metric.
@@MizBoheMia the further this discussion goes, the more obvious it is you are just a moxi schill that wont even consider a counter argument.
