Center punch makes the divot to keep the drill bit in place. A countersink deburs the hole and makes the top edge of it angled (for "countersinking" angled screw heads in flat metal). The "cutting saw" is a handheld grinder with a cutting disk in it. Those are called Lock Washers, they help prevent the nut from unscrewing itself.
Hi Karen, im planning to build one and this is the only good video instructions i found on line. Question i have is how did you join the two 5 feet poles? And do you still use it ?
@@KarlaWithAKTime I did and saw you did bring the ground apexes closer together. As you saw that pushes the upper apexes even further apart but if you are ok with the extra whoopee slings and weight I can see that you may need the extra length to accommodate your tarp. I like the idea of the telescoping flag poles but didn't notice until a second viewing that they seem collapse rather easily. Does staking them out pull them down shorter?
@@sdbpost Actually, I've only used those telescoping flag poles in porch mode once. No issues when I staked them down. I've more often used them for helping with a main kitchen tarp. Again, no issues.
Rei Matsuo I had a hard time finding a video on the diy Tensa stand, I bought most of the materials at Home Depot and or Amazon and spent about $50.00 I used 1 inch emt conduit and 3/4 inch to make it colapsable and adjustable. I have never made a UA-cam video however but I could give you the materials list and dimensions.
@@bryanbair2918 thank you. That's so generous of you to give me that precious time. Just in time for these post-lawn mowing or gardening. Much appreciated Bryan. YOU'RE SO AWESOME. Thank you.
Hey Karla. I’m going to get one of these put together. Thanks for putting this video together.
I've decided to sell mine (on FB marketplace) in case you are interested. I purchase a YOBO gear's HIVE so I can have a two person stand.
@@KarlaWithAKTime i’m good with that if we can figure out how for me to pick it up on the left
@@mnmikeoutdoors8595 PM me.
Are you still looking for a big white porcelain kettle?
@@mnmikeoutdoors8595 Yes, are you Google reading my thoughts again?

I knew someone would know all the proper terms for these tools! Thank you!

At the 3:27 mark you can see how one end of the top rail will fit into the other end. And yes, I still use it.
If you shorten the poles the ends on the ground will be much closer together. The Tensa4 poles extend to a maximum of 9' 6". Looks great otherwise!
Did you watch part 2?

Is there someone else doing a tutorial on this stand? Perhaps a step by step in video vs verbal instructions. Thanks
I don't know. Maybe you will need to create that video! If you do, post a link here so I can watch it!

Bay View?
Hi Milwaukee Dan!
Because I'm white? Did I hear that right?
Yes. I acknowledge I may have gotten special treatment because of the color of my skin.
@@KarlaWithAKTime wierd way of thinking, but great video! ;)
@@sdlopez83 Thank you. Are you making a stand?
Contemplating it or just pulling the trigger on a tensa4. Looks like an easy enough project.
@@sdlopez83 I was surprised at how quickly it came together. It helped having so many others posting how they made theirs.
