Excellent tutorial!! Completely and clearly demonstrated, easy to understand audio, without the wind noise that accompanies so many UA-cam videos. The photography is excellent, clearly showing the proper orientation of the tripods, which is difficult to impossible to make out in the poor definition black and white photos of the included directions. Your bonus suggestions for possible improvements are also very valuable. Bravo Sir!!
Wow...awesome video! So well done. I like how you explain how to do a step and then do a close up as you complete the step. I am STILL waiting for my stand. Dutch is the only place you can get it now and they have been sold out since March. It is now June. They have no idea when they will get more. It's super frustrating b/c it's prime hammocking season and sadly my yard doesn't have trees close enough. I NEED this stand. If I ever get one, I will rewatch your video so I can put it up. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! I am sorry it is taking so long. I know covid and people not going back to work yet. Has made it difficult for companies. Thank you so much for watching Whitney. I really appreciate it.
It is really a great product. I love when I go in an area that there is no trees. I can position the stand to get a great View. Thank you for watching.
Awesome thank you for the video. Been looking for a solution for when friends and family want to go car camping but I have no idea if I'll have the ability to hang my hammock. This is perfect. Never want to be a ground dweller again. Lol
That's a nice stand. I purchased one that it sits on the ground so it can be used in the house or on my deck it's perfect for my Blackbird. I will have to look into this stand for when I'm car camping. Thanks for sharing.
The Tato Hammock Stand is great well built, very portable and easy to set up hammock stand. The only negative is it is a little spendy. But worth it for me, because where ever I go, I can always sleep or nap in my hammock.
Hey Marine. Great video. I got myself one of these stands. I have a Dutch netless hammock. What do I use to make up the distance from the tripods to my hammock ends. I have continuous loops.
What I use is a cinch buckle with straps suspension. Even though you just need around a foot on each end. They work great. What type of suspension do you have?
I saw this video and quickly realized these arent in production anymore. I found only two people in the entire country selling their's. The first guy wasnt willing to ship. The second one, thankfully, was willing. I have it set up in my backyard now. I'm really grateful for your videos. Hey how bout some fishing tutorials. I'd love to learn and especially fly fishing!
Hi Marine, I really like this stand, how long to setup up ? 2nd, the Tato hammock stand is 13 ft, isn’t a issue with the Ridge runner . Lengthwise seems to be borderline ? Have you had any issues? Just a newbie here Thanks
It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to st up. Very easy to set up. I use the Warbonnet Ridge Runner almost all the time. You just set it on the lowest setting and it works great. When i go car camping in State Parks. I will always bring both. You can set it up anywhere to get the perfect view.
The tarp is a Warbonnet Cloudburst. I love that tarp.It is a 30D Silnylon Bushwack Camo, 11x10 rectangle. (www.warbonnetoutdoors.com ) And the snake skin is from MountainGoat. First you have to go to: www.outdoortrailgear.com, then hit navigation menu, find MountainGoat store, then mesh tarp sleeves.
Nice video. What height did you have the tripods set at? Once you got in the hammock, it looked like you wouldn't have room underneath for an UQ without it scrapping the ground
With the Warbonnet Ridgerunner. I have it on the lowest settings. Which is perfect for that style of hammock. If I am going to use the stand. 90 percent of the time. I would be using that hammock. With the under quilt and the under quilt protector on it. There is about a foot ( 30 centimeters ) to the ground.
@@AdventureswiththeMarine I use a gathered end hammock but thanks for the response. If needed I could probably just go up one notch and be good. Thanks!
So you mentioned that you can hang the tarp over the horizontal bar directly rather than a ridge-line. Perhaps you are familiar with the Eno Nomad hammock stand as well. With these 2 hammock stands, obviously you can hang the tarp over w/out a ridge-line, but what about a bug net? Can the horizontal bars on these 2 hammock stands work as a ridge-line of bug nets?
I have never tried it because all my hammocks have a structural ride line. I would think that a very large bug net might work. I believe it would be much better to just attach a structural ridge line to your hammock. They are very inexpensive and easy to attach. Thank you for watching Dylan.
That hammock stand is really cool, the Eno Nomad and the Tato you reviewed. Perhaps though the best choice would be the tensa4 hammock stand, though also super expensive. There is another super cool one from a kick starter called Yobo I think, which consists of 2 pull out aluminum poles and some stakes. I would love to buy that one but it is currently still unavailable.
just one question about the way it is secured to the ground against the wind. Would it be much better to tie it at the lower part of the leg (like where the straps that keeps the legs from spreading farther) than higher up where you made cord with the fly hook?
It has cordage that tie in the top, on each side, on both ends. Plus four stakes. So far it has held in a strong wind. When you put the tarp, which blocks the wind. And with the weight of your body in the hammock. It will stand firm in any storm. If there is no wind . I will not even tie it down.
that's the one i've been after i would have liked it for Christmas although something came up so i have to wait for a couple of months i'm in the uk though so with shipping it will be more costly
I really recommend this hammock stand. Runner got one for Christmas. I know it can be costly, for the stand and shipping. But once you get it. It will be well worth it.
@@AdventureswiththeMarine just gave my haven a test setup. worked great. can't wait to actually use it. tato gear is currently out of stock on the stand, so will have to wait to offcially try them together.
I have been searching to find an answer. But I believe that they no longer make them any more. Which is too bad. Sorry for taking so long. Thank you Robert for watching. I really appreciate it.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have been trying to get ahold of Dutch at Dutchware gear to see when they will have them back in stock again. As soon as I hear from him. I will let you know the time frame. Thank you for watching AJ. I really appreciate it.
I would not recommend putting your tarp over the ridge bar. If it should rain during the night the water could run under neath the ridge bar and drip on you.
Why would anyone want to sleep in a hammock? Simple answer to get away from the wife and kids! Or maybe my 2 yr old son can camp out with his dirty ol dad. I don't even live out in the woods I live in the city but this could come in handy sometime
That is funny. I just took down my hammock stand that I slept in with my hammock. My grandchildren spent the night, and wanted to sleep in our bed.Not enough room. So I volunteered to setup the stand upstairs. And take one for the team. I had a great sleep. I have not slept this good since my last trip. I just don't understand why my wife is so crabby on this beautiful morning.
I'm 6-8 years too late. I need the kit for the EMT. It's exactly what I've been searching for!
I really love that stand. I don't understand why the stop making them. Thank you Leslieroesler for watching. I really appreciate it.
check out yobogear ... they're kickstarting a turtlestand
