Omg I am 69 years old and I still have this horrible disease! Not as much as I used to in the past however although I do tend to be a people-pleaser which is really embarrassing to admit, especially being this age. This video will help me so much as I move forward in the world. How good that you are aware of this at your young age. What other people think of us is none of our business anyway 😊 Thank you so much!
It’s natural that we want people to like us. And as long as we realize this, we can take control of our feelings and our lives again, doesn’t matter what age you figure this out. Go do your thing and make yourself happy! Thanks for watching, I’m glad it helps!
I relate so much to your channel and this video I just came back from an 11 day solo trip to Spain I can never find anyone who will make a decision and stick to it so I went alone and this is not my first time traveling alone. I have realized after being a single mom for 18 years that I’m reliable and I can still go forward with my plans with or without anyone. We’re our own best friends and I’ve learned to love myself ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I agree, friends can definitely hold you back on your plans. I’m glad I was able to relate. Thank you for watching!
All of this really hits Home. a couple years ago I had a house fire and I lost so much junk that I’m now relieved is gone. I was just engaged to be married as putting together my guest list stressed me out on a regular basis . I ended up calling off the wedding and know that if given the opportunity to be engaged again in the future, I would do it all also different.
Excellent book on the topic of managing family relationships - Drama free 📖 😊 it covers lots of scenarios/dynamics, from siblings, parents, in laws, toxic behaviours, mental health, addictions etc. The author goes into detail and gives practical tips on how to navigate/set boundaries and remove yourself in certain situations ❤ x
Joan, thank you for sharing your experience and offering applicable methods in dealing with the need for validation (in ourselves and when needed by others). I recently watched a video from Eckart Tolle where he spoke about not identifying with thoughts. It prompted me to consider how I was processing (and internally reacting to) someone else's opinion. Unsolicited advice is one of my biggest energy drains some days. Yet life feels so much better every day!😉
I LOVE Eckhart Tolle’s work! I’ve read two of his books and they are life changing. We all naturally identify with our thoughts but we have the power to choose not to once we are aware of them. They are just thoughts! Thanks again for watching!
✨️✨️✨️Glad you had the strength and fortitude to have the wedding your heart desired. The entitlement and audacity of people who think they can decide on your wedding, (then add your pregnancy, how to raise your children where to live...it goes on and on). You released yourself from this insanity!✨️✨️✨️
@@JoanQuinto OMG thanks! Nice to have another pinay in the YT world! ❤ And I think what draws me to your channel is because you humbles me in one way or another. Especially in today's reality, like everyone wants to be anyone, and wants to have everything. But when I'm watching your videos I feel genuinely content of what I have right now - and I need it! So thank you!
I still struggle with this from time to time, but for the most part it stays in my head and i don’t say things out loud. 😅 Thanks so much for watching!
Joan, clapped ! impressed ur considerate in depth on the subject. I wonder how thoughtful of managing relationship , judgmental human nature you are for ur age, 30 yrs younger than I . Thank u for mirroring my paths through. Yr u-tube presentations and views may help people handle concerned matters a lot . yr subjects draw me on while i learn a lot. from Seoul.
I am so glad to hear that you find value in my videos! I do my best to share my personal experiences in my authentic way, hoping to connect and relate to others. Thanks so much for watching!
Absolutely, compliments are nice to hear! But unless you are confident in yourself, compliments from others isn’t going to make you feel better long term. Thanks for watching!

All valid points. ❤ I’m now learning not to take anything personal, and you’ll be happier. It’s really that simple.
Exactly, never take things personally. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! Weddings definitely can be overwhelming and bring about all kinds of unnecessary drama and stress. :/

Oooh! I will check out that book, I love to read and learn about human behaviors. Thanks for sharing and for watching my video!

It took many years to realize I don't need to give an explanation. It's tiring and unnecessary. It didn't help me. 🎉

It's nice to get compliments for other people but it's not good to rely on it or to do things just to make people like you IMO

You’re a beautiful soul ❤
